I gotta say this show is super entertaining for me. I listen while I survey and commute to and from different projects. Andrew, I enjoyed the little Toyota Land Cruiser moment in one of your episodes. I have an old fj40 that I used to daily drive in high school and undergrad in NM and your story hit home about cruising the desert hit home haha.

This is interesting, humorous, and balanced. I look forward to every release though the host does debunk a lot of fun theories about past cultures!

If you have a genuine interest in esoterica and archaeology, I highly recommend this podcast! The new host does a great job of debunking common and harmful, misinformation without insulting anyone’s intelligence. He is very entertaining and down to earth, and he is passionate about archaeology enough to honestly acknowledge its flaws. If I had a professor like him I might’ve finished my degree. “The only thing I know is that I know nothing.” **Edit: He does sometimes insult people’s intelligence. I can’t blame him.

Dr. Kinkella is a super fun and engaging host and I think that he is the perfect choice to bring this podcast back. I was very surprised to see the podcast returning and I’m excited to continue listening.

Holy cow they talk too fast. It’s like it is playing at 1.5x. If you want to learn about things that aren’t true then this is the podcast for you. The poor guests (some who I would like to hear more from) are constantly talked over by the hosts. A lot of underlying anger at (not debunking of) fringe and false theories and conclusions in the field. Yeah, yeah…, we all know Graham Hancock is a kook. We don’t need to keep reliving it and going over it again, and again, and again. Save your ears and move on, there is nothing worth listening to here.

I love the content it’s generally very interesting but the background noise is just incessant. I sometimes have to expect to hear a toilet flush in the middle of the episode. LOL. But anyway I don’t let that distract you it’s a great podcast

Haven’t heard a new cast for over a year.

Not sure how they do it, but this podcast can take an otherwise interesting topic and turn it into one big whine.

Some episodes are better than others. Usually quite informative. Would rate it better if they kept their politics out of it.

I love the concept of this podcast! The 2 male hosts, however, won't SHUT UP! They have to prove how smart they are by interjecting constantly. I feel so bad for the female host. She can't get a word in edge-wise because she's effing polite. I feel bad for me because I want to listen to this podcast and after a half dozen episodes, I can't take it anymore!

I liking to some episode; and then some others not as much liking to me (from I persceptive.) How can rate good if differintly quality all time, huh?

I'm not an archaeologist, or even an enthusiast, but this program is great fun and also filled with information that non-specialists rarely encounter. The male co-hosts come off as a bit full of themselves, but I suppose that's not unusual among people who volunteer to host podcasts. The show as a whole, though, is great. The content more than makes up for the slightly annoying tone.

This is a really great podcast. The topics are always interesting and super informative, but it's also really fun. I'm an archaeologist so I really appreciate the subject of the podcast. It's fun learning about pseudo-archaeological theories and concepts, but also nice that the hosts discuss why these theories have no basis in real archaeology.

I love the podcast because all involved are well knowledgeable in their field and constantly address and debunk the nonsense you see on the History Channel (Hitler alien channel) and Discovery (shark week channel). My only issue is the theme song is absolutely infuriating. Yes. I dock two stars just because that no dinosaur song makes me want to kill myself. You're unwittingly encouraging and inciting suicide.

I learned about this podcast through Monster Talk (another excellent podcast and favorite of mine). The archaeology presented in this podcast is superb and it bridges the gap between "Ivory Tower" archaeology and the publics Sci-fi view of archaeology. I think that listeners not familiar with the field will learn a great deal about what archaeologists actually do, how archaeologists "know" what they know. The podcast excellently dispells the myths and pseudo explanations in an interesting and respectful (though not always reverent) way. Everyone should listen to this podcast.

Each episode is hosted by Sara Head as well as Ken Feder or Jeb Card (sometimes all three). All of the hosts are professional archaeologists and discuss things from that point of view. They often have a guest with expertise on the topic of the episode. Each episode is a deep dive into a particular pseudoarchaeology topic but the hosts are not afraid to go on an interesting or entertaining tangent. As you learn about the subject of each episode, you also learn a lot about the field of archaeology itself (its methods, how evidence is evaluated, the ethical issues involved in archaeology, etc.). If this sounds interesting to you, you should browse the episodes, pick a topic that looks interesting to you, and listen to it. You won't regret it!

Superb archaeological podcast that tackles the many myths of the field, from ancient aliens to Atlantis. The hosts are fun & knowledgable and attack each subject with the same intelligence & wit (granted, with some subjects, it's like shooting fish in a barrel). Great listen for anyone interested in actual archeology along with the various myths surrounding it.

I always enjoy these episodes even when the topic isn't something I'd ordinarily listen to. The hosts are funny and articulate, know their stuff, and make a non-archaeologist like me feel like I've just attended a great science class.

I listen to every episode. Such a great source of information but lately Ken's mic is almost unintelligible. It a breaking my eardrums when at the volume I need to make sense of Ken suddenly the other host speak. Please fix this! I consider y'all my ancient aliens rehab and I'd hate to relapse due to a technical error!

The Atlantis episode is a must-listen. Although I'll always enjoy lost civilization yarns, I appreciate having the roots of the fictions revealed.

I really like this podcast. I understand that some would say that it's, as I think one of the first reviewers put it, they tend to "duh" each other to death, but keep in mind that this is a very young podcast and they are still growing. I've been interested in conspiracy theories and anomalous phenomena for a very long time. I always thought that it was more entertainment than truth but with ancient aliens I feel like there should be a label on shows like that that state that it's for entertainment however I appreciate ancient aliens and shows like that because I wouldn't I wouldn't have known about the temple builders of Malta or Gobekli Tepe or other megalithic sites. I love this show because it's real archaeologists who really understand the science and put it in practice on a regular basis. I accidentally found the Archy fantasies blog when Internet researching the stone circle of life thing. And I Immediately fell in love. I think we all know, even those of us who really enjoy shows like ancient aliens, that truth is stranger than fiction and oftentimes way more interesting. What makes the show great is that in its essence it serves as a scholarly rebottle against a lot of the hype and mythos of anthropology and archaeology. If anything there should be a show specifically about this on the discovery channel! They should pit archaeological fantasies against ancient aliens. It would be like funding both sides of the war. In closing this show is in its infancy but that shouldn't deter you from listening. The best way to exercise critical thinking is to listen to the arguments of the people that you disagree with.

I learned about this cast from the Struggling Archaeologist Podcast and I am now hooked!

I was introduced to Ken Feder from Monster talk, and was immediately a fan of this brilliant man. I’ve listened to every MT podcast and the ones with Ken at least a dozen times. I love how he puts fringe Archaeological hypotheses into perspective. I’ve never laughed so hard as I have at his statements. So when I listened to the last MT episode yesterday and heard that Ken was doing a podcast I subscribed right then. I’m listing right now to the first episode and will be this podcasts biggest fan. I’ve bought his books and read a book he mentioned “the Morning of the Magicians” where Erich Von Däniken, got his ideas and most of the content for his infamous book. Anyway Listen to this cast and join the revolution that debunks pseudo Archaeology and learn something.

It’s a fun and informative podcast about archaeology and the differences between pop-culture pseudoscience seen on web and TV shows, and actual archaeology which is slow, methodical and evidence-based. The show is not heavily edited, but if you enjoy shows like Tetrapodzoology Podcast, or if you’re a fan of ancient mysteries want evidence and not just fantastic “what if” stories, then this is a show you should subscribe to.

Do not be misled by any other review. This podcast is precisely what it purports to be, discussing exactly what it promises. Anyone who thinks it is less than 4 stars must be having problems following something that at least requires a freshman in college mind. There is no question but that the folks on the podcast know 100 times more than the purveyors of nonsense. Give it a listen for what it is, an educated approach to pseudo-archeology.

The hosts of this show, to quote Joe Rogan from another topic, can "Duh each other to death." They can take one completely obvious statement "People with expertise are more trustworthy than people without it." and go over it again and again without bringing up any anything new. Before of bringing up new real world examples of where and when it's a problem, and the implications (which they may eventually get to) they rephrase something that goes without saying way to many times. If you have the patience, this podcast is ok. I will check again in a few months to see if it has improved.
