Best Roman History podcast out there.

Fascinating, informative and fast moving. An easy listen, just finished reading the first book (on Kindle) and this makes a great companion. I’m in US and needed to VPN into UK to access the podcast.

Great History on Rome

Fascinating History Podcast on Rome and its fall. Listening at night, loud music twice in beginning and at the end of each fairly short episode is an irritant. I think in newer episodes it’s been removed. Would like each episode a bit longer but overall highly recommended Podcast.

Nonsenses

A bunch of made up stories. The informations regarding the story of khosrow and kavad are mostly tendentious and untrue. It appears that you do not care about the facts and do not wish to rely on different and reliable sources.

Phenomenal historical accounts

My absolute favorite podcast hands down. Nick is an excellent storyteller and always brings tremendous energy to the show. Can’t recommend this and Byzantium and the Crusades enough!

Was good before he got political

Liked this podcast specifically because how informative it was and how he was able to story tell quite well However, he started quoting Marx, talking about climate change, and now it’s not a historical podcast but his political lense on history

Have listened to all the podcast and learnt so much!!! Nick’s style is very educational, informative and you can feel his passion for Roman history. It is like Edward Gibbons in podcast format and as Nick said once on Gibbons’ work this podcast is an”amazing masterpiece”

This is a must for anyone wanting a detailed understanding of rise and fall of the Roman Empire . Very educational and informative. The podcast really helped me understand too how European countries today were settled.

Nick Holmes continues his excellent podcasts

Enjoyable and detailed. Not on the complete history of Rome as Mike Duncan’s, but on the circumstances snd catalysts for it”s fall. In this series at the beginning he is providing a little more context to set the scenes which I find very helpful.
