If he's a legitimate Russian dissenter, why does he say the Ukraine war is presented as Russia vs "the world"? It's the US and its NATO subservient "allies", who are using Ukraine to fight Russia, not "the world". Govts representing the majority of the world's population have not cut ties with Russia, e.g. India, which is buying more Russian energy than before the war. China is also, and those are the 2 biggest populations in the world.The US population is deluged with anti-Russia and anti-China propaganda 7 by 24. It is sad to see Counterpunch supporting US hegemony. No country has approached the US body count in wars far from its shores since WW 2. History teaches that. I expect Counterpunch, with its proud history of dissent against US aggression and meddling all around the world over decades, to look at the situation more strategically and globally than this interview does- and you can add Bill Fletcher Jr. and his Ukraine solidarity stance to the reasons why I'm unsubscribing to your podcasts. I don't listen to MSNBC propaganda, and you've apparently joined them. Red-baiting when there aren't any Reds in Moscow? Good bye.

Eric Draitser is one of the more intelligent and interesting figures on the left today which makes Counterpunch Radio an enjoyable and worthwhile program.

This podcast is one of my favorites and certainly an important one in an era wherein many so-called leftists are shilling for corporate media and war mongering. Eric is a great host, and the selection of guests is varied rather well.

CounterPunch Radio is the best leftist podcast I have found.

I have been listening to this podcast for years. Erick knows what he is talking about. Erick is too intelligent to fail!

Sadly, just like the website, had degenerated to hyperbole, Trump Derangement Syndrome and Ad hominem attacks. Alexander Cockburn, a climactic skeptic and founder of Counterpunch, must be tolling in his grave.

This podcast started out as a fairly solid forum for discussion of mostly anti-imperialism and other vital issues. After Brexit/Trump last year Draitser got more concerned about red-brown fash-entryism and that became the dominant topic of most episodes. The unfortunate part is for some reason Draitser throws the baby out with the bathwater and adopts a more liberal frame of analysis, which means you hear more about Assad's barrel bombs and the Kremlin controlling the White House on recent episodes. The show's basically becoming a slightly edgier Democracy Now. I stick with it because Draitser still books good guests and when he stays out of their way the show sings. But when he launches into yet another extended rant about his various social media beefs you'll be wondering where it all went wrong. But that's politics 2017.

A great addition to the content provided by the print magazine/newsletter. I refer folks to this when they mindlessly use the phrase "liberal media" to describe our mainstream corporate media. I tell them to check it out, and see whether the coverage of the issues reflected here mirrors the corporate line. It doesn't, and I've been able to turn even some conservative friends on to this news source. They can appreciate the "maverickyness" of this outlet, and are willing to listen because they're willing to call out EVERYONE: governments, corporations, churches, media outlets, the "left", the "right"...anyone.

Discovered this podcast a few months ago, I've been hooked ever since. Phenomenal debates, crucial information abound, I have now become a ConterPunch magazine subscriber too.

Conscience and consciousness raising. Elevate your awareness and make Counterpunch a habit.

Its so sobering to have voices and perspectives such as these so easily accessible in a time where information is abundant but wisedom is sparse. I greatly appreciate the dedication to honest review and thorough review of scientic, social and hard, realities in our modern day. Well done.

I was reading articles on the Counterpunch website daily for years before I started on this podcast and I think both are really great! Compare to Democracy Now, but these interviews usually go more in depth than DN does because they spend their whole hour focusing on one guest. I highly recommend!!

I've been a long time reader of their absolutely stellar and reliable journalism website and this lives up to the high standards that Counterpunch sets for itself. The host is well-informed and engaging and they have a constant flow of great guests on there, often the discussions can be revelatory. Can't recommend enough!

Best indy media outlet in the US

Eric Draitser is a fantastic host who reflects the heterogynous Left approach of Counterpunch. His familiarity and expertise on a wide range of subjects produces an enlivened and informative discussion for even the most jaded listeners, with one of the best rosters of guests from all over the left that can be found on any program.

A perfect complement to the Counterpunch website and magazine. The podcast has turned me on to a lot of important voices make some sense of what the heck is going on in the world.

Gave it a first listen today and was SUPER informative. I subscribed and will continue to listen to it. If you're interseted in sociopolitical issues and want to learn more about the world from a critical standpoint, then give this show a listen.

His guests are always intelligent and stimulate wonderful conversation. But I think the real value is often Eric's own analysis and additions to his guests commentary. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good dose of truth.

One of the best places to find non-regurgitated news that the mainstream media consistently tries to force down all of our throats. Names the name's and the people.

Counterpunch (both the publication and the podcast) provides a more uncompromisingly critical look at American politics than any other media outlet I know.

Great host,great guests, important topics that "leftist" media barely even talk about

I thought this would be hard-htting, real interviewing. Turned out to be like listening to MSNBC pandering, pretending to be intelligent. Disappointed, you can hear the same guests/interviews, narrative by listening to bought off main stream media.

Tired of being manipulated by news channels sponsored by fast food chains that want to see you get diabetes/big pharma that want to sell you the diabetes drugs that you need from eating that fast food/ attorneys that want you to sue at any cost for getting sick and banks that want to keep the cash you will need to treat the diabetes? Greatest source for international politics.

Counterpunch is second to none in radical media in America. Not only is the website outstanding, as usual, but its print magazine and radio podcast are fantastic. Host Eric Draitser has a deep and broad knowledge of domestic and foreign affairs, and his guests--often regular Counterpunch contributors--offer compelling explanations on global political, social and economic developments. Highly recommended.

Every week I can't wait for another of Eric's episodes. He is a great, well spoken, and most importantly, well informed host. A lot of great guests, many of whom I now use as go-to sources for various topics. While the show touches on leftist issues in the United States, if you are interested in getting the real scoop on international issues-- this is the podcast for you.

The best analysis of politics I've yet to find. Keep up the great work.

I am continually impressed by the topics covered on CounterPunch Radio as well as the intelligent, in-depth discussion and analysis. High quality independent media is so important for the growth of an informed public, especially in the shadow of the filth that passes for "news" on corporate and some state-funded networks. Hear about the world today from an unfiltered lens. Yes to all the hard questions - on racism, imperialism, and unrestrained finance. Understand what's happening in the world today from a perspective that respects people's humanity.

Counterpunch Radio is honest and left discussion about real issues - it’s what you wish news really was, back when you were an idealistic kid wanting to learn more about how society works and how to make change in the world. Leading left figures - people who challenge the way things are with new methods and thoughts - discuss not just with facts, but bring the context of they experience and perspective. It is so informative in a way that reading alone lacks. The host is also very enjoyable. He strikes balance between letting his interviewers have their say, challenging them, and keeping them on point.

If you have any inclination towards the Left (but not the corporatized, Clintonized faux-Left), this is for you. CounterPunch began as a newsletter in 1994 and has evolved into a great website, book publisher, and now radio show. Eric Draitser, an amazing analyst in his own right, is host to some of the best sorts of guests. He does all ranges of topics, from American politics to international war and peace issues, and you cannot find a better podcast.

One of the best podcasts out there and probably the best foreign policy podcast. Eric is well informed and brilliant!
