Thank you for your show. I have recently left the JW. I was at bethel Warwick. I left at 34. And I am the only one from my family that left. I divorced my mentally abusive husband and really seen first hand the second class woman process. The brothers were not there to help me but to help my ex to keep his reputation. Your show has been a wonderful help to me. Thank you.

It is very important that before joining any organization, you do your research. Many people that find themselves beginning a study with the JWs have suffered somehow or at some point in their lives that leaves them asking questions. Questions that we as humans have been asking for thousands of years. In modern history hundreds of religions have cropped up claiming to have exclusive access to what is called “the truth,” however when you really look in to the teachings and history of the Watchtower, you will find it is more similar to all modern day religion than what they tell you. From the hierarchy, to the rules, dogmas, and teachings to Ex-Communicating, yes, they will kick you out if you oppose any of their teachings that at one time you said you would not disagree with. Just like a company kicks you out for opposing the leadership or the direction it is taking. Oh yes, JT and Lady Cee are on Point, On Topic and Accurate in the information they are giving you. Like JT says, “The watchtower has a good product.” Probably one of the best in the religious market, and also as JT says, “I would rather have questions I can’t answer than answers I can’t question.” Be grateful that this source of info is available. Each episode is thoughtfully laid out without rambling or run-on rants. Interviewees are allowed to tell their story and it doesn’t hurt that sometimes opinions may crop up but I would put the percentage of what is discussed at about 99.8% accurate. Any group that tells you NOT to look to outside sources for ideas or research on any subject, or who tells you not to seek secondary or higher education, is manipulating you into staying malleable for further brain washing. The next suggestion the JW’s have for you, instead of going to college, is to just work a part-time job and spend the rest of your time making more JW disciples and getting people to convert to their doctrine. Members are striped of their autonomy and not allowed critical thinking or personal choice. They are programmed to obey and report back on other JWs. It keeps you in a constant state of fear from even being yourself around people. You develop “imposter syndrome” and lead a double life because you have to in order to survive. I know this because I was born into the JW cult. At age 5, I knew I wanted out. I also knew I had 13 more years to have to hide my true thoughts and feelings from my family that I was not a believer because they had already dumped off my oldest sister out of the house when she was 16 and I was 2. They claimed my sister worshiped Satan and was a lesbian which was enough for my delusional mother to send my oldest sister out of our home. The reality was my sister was smoking cigarettes and wanting to go out with her friends from school instead of the approved JWs. I spent my entire childhood knowing all my friends and family would be torn away and shun me when i finally broke from their cult at 18. It was extremely traumatic and it still affects me now at 50 years old. Thanks for letting me know there are others who have survived escaping this dangerous group. They need to be exposed.

I’m a third generation JW, and left when I was 19 after living in foster care because of the abuse of my Elder Father. I knew I made the right decision when I had my son. And I knew that I couldn’t subject my child to the abuses of my own childhood. Thank you!!!

Great Podcast. I can relate to just about every single topic. This show is the realest. JT sounds just like the elders which makes it so much easier on the ears when he critiques the cult. Haha, if that doesn’t make me brainwashed!!!

In the 1970s, my mom was just followed because she allowed me to join the Cub Scouts. She thought it would be OK if I join the Cub Scouts just as long as I didn’t wear a flag on my uniform or saluted the flag. I just wanted to do it because I wanted to be with my friends and have fun.

Helpful? Informative? Yeah no, you all are sick from the head thinking bashing on a religion is okay. And if your significant other is trying to teach their kids and you don't agree, go cry about it😃. Or you know what, get divorced, just let them be🙄

My ex husband was disfellowshipped as a young adult. He’s now 42 and has yet to have a relationship with his parents. It’s extremely sad because he’s an only child and his children are the only grandchildren. The parents were originally allowed to speak to him if it involved “family matters” but that faded over time.

It’s a shame that I thought this was how we were supposed to live our lives! Thank you for thinking critically. This prompted me to do an episode on my own podcast, so thank you for inspiring also! ❤️

Loving this breakdown of the nonsense I grew up with

I’m not a Jehová witness, but I have meet many Jehová witnesses. I also study with them time to time and have asked difficult questions to the witness and based on the Bible theirs always a answer. This gentleman that says that he was in the organization has probably been impeached for improper behavior or bad decisions. Listen to the podcast and see how he carries the conversation with resentment and hate towards the organization, but fails to give you a better path!

I hadn’t voluntarily disassociated myself from the Witnesses but it just happened. I’ve been disowned basically by my parents. Since childhood I always felt something was wrong with the organization. Going door to door I felt we were encroaching on people’s quiet time and sleep. I don’t hold anything against the witnesses. Many of them if not a majority are really good people, just a little misguided. Thank you Lady C and JT for your wonderful podcast helping us to see the forest from the trees. It’s encouraging to know that because we turned away from this otherwise “toxic” organization, we have not turned away from God, we aren’t the only ones who feel this way. We should still pray for our fellow man.

I left 20 years ago after raised a witness. After leaving _everything_ behind for a new life I appreciate the encouraging words from so many years of mental anguish and spiritual and emotional torture. My family may have been destroyed but at least I have a future outside the oppressive way of life. Thank you for giving me the strength knowing others have had similar issues.

I love you guys! I am so thankful for the work you’ve done and are doing! I am married to a woman who was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. It wasn’t a big deal before kids but now it’s my biggest battle , to keep the watch towers claws away from my kids.

For years I thought I was crazy for thinking these very things that are discussed. Very eye opening and informative. Please listen.

It amazes me to see how people can fall for anything Jehovah,s witnesses tell you in their so called "book" study. Extra ordinary claims require extra ordinary evidence which they dont have. I guess the "FOG" spread from the platform at any KH permeates weak minded individuals and really does take away their thinking capacity to see they are being hoodwinked by this Corporation . Keep up the good work !

LoL it’s crazy how ppl push things they can’t explain. I no longer go to the hall but I’d never talk bad or disrespect the witnesses. Your hiding behind “lady c “ and “jt”. If you felt so strong about your new belief then stop hiding.

The entire series suddenly is ALL about women. You are alienating almost half of your listeners with the constant brother bashing. That's not critical thinking as were the earlier episodes. Keep in mind that this is a four star rating so it has to be excellent for starters. Hope you get back to the stuff that affects us all in general.

"JT" handles the bulk of this podcast. He was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, pioneered, went to Bethel, and became an elder. If you're already reading this review, and you have doubts, you might as well listen (I mean, if you're reading this, you're already curious. There's a reason for that). What you'll hear are people giving their very down-to-earth experiences with this religion. Chances are you will learn things you never knew about Jehovah's Witnesses (yes, even if you're already one, yourself). I love this podcast for its information. I'm a "lifer" and I've learned new things just from this show that I never knew- I've already been out for almost 10 years and somehow never have stumbled onto some of this information- even with all the research I've done. One of my favorite things about this podcast are the too-true moments that I found myself giving a knowing smile or chuckle at- things to which only a JW or ex-JW could relate. :) Thank you for this excellent and informative show. Keep it up!

This is great stuff even if your not a jw or ex jw

Very good information. Have you ever considered how much influence the free masonry has had on teachings/culture. For instance, Russell linked Egypt to Shem(really?), and the high priests in Egypt wore no facial hair. Perhaps that's why the Caucasian brothers in the Service Dept could not wear mustaches. I'm just saying. Why is it that the Bible characters are so pale when there is evidence that the earliest humans had dark skin? I asked a fair skinned sister and she angrily asked "what color do you think they are supposed to be?" Hmmmmm....
