    Love Boethius
Honestly I would probably support you financially if this was a podcast about Boethius, thanks for talking about him! And otherwise being good I guess.

    Typically engaging theological discussions
I’ve heard some pretty thoughtful/thorough theological discussions, but the most recent episode on NT Wright was very disappointing. The irony was the lack of nuance, particularly from Derek, who complained of Wright’s lack of nuance. I listened to the whole Carey Neuhoff interview of Wright. Based on the lack of context in the discussion, these guys likely didn’t…and then pulled a typical social media move and gave a poorly thought out hot take on it. Not the depth I expect from this group or what the Church needs; I could get this from Twitter.

    Listen
I’ve been listening since it was “across the pond”, and I’m pretty sure I haven’t missed an episode. That may reflect on my own idiosyncrasies some, but I think it mostly reflects the helpfulness of these conversations.

The Divine Council Worldview Pod also did the numerology on 153 this week!

    Engaging, informative, and humorous!
Great way to keep up with what’s going on in American Christianity! The hosts have great personalities, and quality guest speakers!

    Great!
Wish I’d found this podcast sooner! Felt very distant from Reformed theology for years now. Great to find some insight through this pod

    Most Engaging Podcast
I really enjoy this podcast. I love both the depth and lightheartedness with which they address theological and cultural questions, and they consistently choose such worthwhile questions to discuss and authors to host. I invariably come away having learned a lot and been highly entertained while doing it. I especially love that they give air time to genuine disagreements, among themselves or between themselves and their guests in a very cordial yet sharpened and purposeful way. This is a skill nearly everyone could probably get better at in our current culture. In addition, I love that they honor the contributions of thoughtful feminine authors on culture and theology. I can happily listen to more episodes of this podcast consecutively than any other show.

    Used to be good
For a long time, this podcast was my favorite. Recently (because of their sponsors?) they’ve moved to interviews with rather weak authors, and the pushback/engagement is soft. The podcast used to be somewhat intellectually rigorous and stimulating, but now it’s a big pillow fight, an extended infomercial for the latest evangellyfish pop-theology publication. It’s losing its edge. It’s disappointing to me, because I’ve been a faithful listener since the beginning.

    Engrossing, Stimulating, Practical
Great panel of hosts, fantastic guest queue - every episode is intellectually stimulating and fascinating, yet there is always pragmatic application and a practical, down to earth focus. Edifies me, and helps me love God and neighbor with my heart, soul, mind (and strength if I’m listening while jogging, haha)…Perhaps the best part of this podcast is how charitable convos are, and that while the hosts take their guests and content seriously, they don’t take themselves too seriously. Refreshing!

    Excellent Lineup!
I listen to a lot of Christian podcasts and pay close attention to the interviewees. After listening to the latest episode with Tim Keller and the episode with Dr. J Richard Middleton, I have to say this is one of the best podcasts for intellectual consideration of the Bible, theology, and culture for everyday life in the church and world—especially for people in evangelical or post evangelical spaces. This podcast was not my go to, but I think I’ve been converted to a regular listener.

I am not smart enough to listen to this podcast
But I do it every week anyway! I have learned so much from these discussions and I just love the dynamics between these men and all their guests. I really enjoy that they can discuss, disagree, and sometimes not come to a tidy “conclusion.” I recommend this podcast often and will continue to do so. 😁

    GREAT
Intellectual, thought-provoking, honest, and (sometimes) funny. What’s not to like?! More of this, please.

    Started with Cosper, kept going
I ended up on this podcast hearing good things about the context and background the interviews uncovered with Mike Cosper on the “Rise and Fall of Mars Hill” story — all true! — but found myself drawn into their other work. Hope to stay on top of this one.

Great for insightfully surveying contemporary theological and pastoral questions
Mere O is one of my favorite podcasts. I never miss an episode, and I’m grateful to each of the regulars for their insightful discussions.
  • Ultraman X 'Gon Give It To Ya
    Great podcast.
I’ve had the privilege of “knowing” Derek for nearly a decade now. What a humble and charitable thinker, love that this podcast gives him (and the other hosts) an outlet to help and edify and challenge the church.

    ...
I agree with reviewer below I would love to listen to a 3 1/2 hr. episode of the four of you just talking.

    Great! One word of feedback.
I really enjoy the podcast. You guys should embrace long form (which is a proven concept). The show ends too quickly and conversation is to constrained by the time limits.

Not afraid to wrestle with the tensions of faith
This podcast is excellent in its focus on the gospel and all its implications. Their different backgrounds and experiences help me wrestle with the tensions of living by faith in the 21st century.

Good podcast on differing Christian perspectives
Love the combination of American and British Christian perspectives. Conservative but nuanced
  • Zjj55
    Great overall
Very interesting and fascinating podcast. Good group here. One of the best Reformed podcasts out there. I have a somewhat minor complaint. Lately the conversations have at times drifted too far from practical, real life issues of faith. It’s more frequent now that I will skip 10 minutes ahead because I just don’t care how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

    Could use more Anglicans
I love this podcast as much as Matt seems to like interrupting others.

Christianity’s very own angry SJW Jemar Tisby...
Hey Jemar did you forget about the fifty years of Democrat party rule over your people? If you put yourself under Pharaoh please don’t be surprised when he (wealthy democrat politicians that is) destroyed your family’s, your livelihoods, your future. Very clever, pre-packaged white guilt for a biblically illiterate church, I’m sure it will sell, I mean they buy Joel Ostean.... I’m not your enemy, however you have made me yours,,, foolishness...

    Fine Theological and Cultural Analysis
An enjoyable podcast with helpful analysis of theology and culture. I especially like their interviews with authors.

    Great Content, Annoying Voices
I mean this without cynicism, and intend no offense. Feedback should be candid and honest, with an eye to constructive change. The content on this podcast is truly top-notch. Among the various Reformed podcasts, I find myself most aligned ideologically, culturally, and theologically with you here, and am continuously educated by your subjects and guests. That said, your voices are hard to tolerate. The persistent vocal fry, high-end terminal, and general effeminate lilt are very difficult to tolerate from two grown men. This was at a fever pitch on the Jake Meader episode, whose book sounds so fascinating but whose voice is so intolerably grating that I had to bail 20 minutes in. This isn’t an age or generation thing. I’m 34, firmly in the millennial cohort. And if there’s one thing I’d change about my generation, it’s the NPR-esque effete manner of speech widely adopted by podcasters and radio broadcasters.

    Never quick to jump conclusion
I have been listening to the podcast for over 6 months, catching up on older episodes too. I love the fact that just when you think they are about to all agree, someone (prolly Matt.) takes a spin and brings another perspective that I never saw coming. I love the fact that they take up some hard topics and never feel showy like ‘see we are the only braves ones out there’. I hope they do more ‘Ask us anything’ episodes and they certainly debate more often. Great podcast!
  • Joelmcoxnc
    Sooooo wordy
They never get to a point, they speak in circles and seem like they confuse each other and probably themselves more than further a topic or discussion. If you can’t say something simply, you simply don’t know what you’re talking about. I understand that when people are in the academic field, their vocabulary changes, but they never simplify their points for better and clearer understanding. They just let things slowly creep forward until it ends when everyone is confused.

    Not Just for Theologians!
The entire Mere Fidelity crew are incredibly knowledgeable without alienating us "common folk." They truly have a gift for making high-level concepts relevant to how we live our daily lives. They're also funny and fascinating - two words I can't normally use to describe a group of guys chatting over Theology. Thanks for putting out such a stellar show guys - keep up the great work!

I hate to agree with Rachel Held Evans on anything …
Young, earnest, Calvinist-leaning Evangelicals who are sophisticated, fairly deep in Christian history, and frequently illuminating. They regularly disabuse me of any notion that "Evangelicals" are fungible goods of low quality.

    The Future Is British
If you could bottle the rush I get when a new episode releases and give it to every Christian, dead orthodoxy would be a thing of the past.

    thanks for being reasonable
I was just listening to the the Genesis Bible study episode and also the one about the Nashville statement. I really appreciate how these guys will tackle some tough/controversial topics without having an assumed or agreed upon answer. And yet, they are still generally staying within the traditional viewpoints. I feel too often when Christians disagree with something about a Calvinistic/reformed/complementarian perspective they will throw the baby out with the bath water. Something like "The Bad Chrisitan Podcast" is pretty good and at least they tackle tough topics without an assumed answer but they get too far out the norm for me. So, thanks guys for being thoughtful and reasonable.

Helps me think deeper about Christianity and culture
I’ve been listening to the Mere Fidelity podcast for a couple of years now, and it’s been a huge blessing. I had grown frustrated while grappling with what it might look like for a Christian to live out faithful witness in our modern society. When I came across Mere Fidelity, it opened up a world to me that has helped me think deeper and sharpen my ideas around the intersection of the Christian faith and the culture. I’m grateful for the work that goes into the show and couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

    A theological podcast that's listenable
These four guys have great chemistry and are very insightful regarding the cultural and doctrinal challenges facing the church today. I listen whenever I can.

    The Theological Wonk-cast.
A little in the weeds. Relatively respecful of their non-expert audience. Not sure what this would involve... but am sure there is some kind of software out there where each person could record themselves at their particular locality and then lay all of the audiotracks over the top of one another later. (In other words, the guys would be communicating via phone, with possibly poor connections... but the final audio heard by the audience would be a flawless compression of several audio tracks. The biggest hurdle would be making sure they all pressed "record" at the same time so that it's not difficult to match up the recordings).

    Excellent, many-layered conversations
It is good to have found these challenging, thoughtful discussions on such a rich variety of subjects.

    Great Personalities
The main guys that fill this podcast each make a contribution to the show, they are more concerned with making an issue understood than they are with resolving the issue.
  • Nedinski
    Well done!
I really enjoy the intellectual style of these discussions. Interesting topics, guests, and entertaining banter between the speakers. Keep up the good work!

    Truly Wonderful Dialogue on Scripture
Thank you for making these discussions available and expanding not just my understanding but also my heart in wrestling with questions of scripture.

    Always learning
Sometimes the podcast revolves around a topic I don't have much knowledge of... but I always learn something through the delightful discussions. 10/10 (or 5/5 stars).

    On Eternal Subordination
Helpful show on this issue—and issue showing itself to be neck-deep in certain prominent and powerful evangelical places. Guys did a good job presenting the issues and discussing them charitably. Thanks!

    Solid & Edifying
I'm a new listener, but I can't recommend this podcast enough. Thoughtful and edifying.

Well thought out...hope for better production
I love listening to these guys. Allistar has been one of my favorite theologians to read...now he's a favorite to listen to. I am anxious to see the production and sound quality improve..."call-in" guests can sound very far away, and the sound and clarity of all participants is not equal.
  • Mer1027
    Quite enjoyable!
I thoroughly enjoy listening to these guys discuss their varying thoughts and views on issues that I do not encounter on a regular basis. As a 20 year old college student, I find it intriguing to delve into the realm of theological discussions during my part time office job. It definitely helps the time pass, and I'm always learning something new or being challenged to think about a new perspective!

    Listen regularly
No shouting, no ranting, but often challenging and interesting. I anixously look forward to each podcast.

Thought provoking podcast with a fun sense of humor.

    My new favorite podcast
I listen to quite a few theological podcasts on a regular basis and I have to say this one’s quickly become one of my favorites. Each of these men bring a thoughtful biblical perspective to these issues and while I share many of their core beliefs, one or more of them usually say something that forces me to reevaluate my own convictions. There’s a great camaraderie among them all that just adds to the overall enjoyability, making this a regular conversation that I feel privileged to sit in on. Well done, fellas!
  • KurtAvci
    Listen in. Flex your brain.
Always clever, often funny and only sometimes frustratingly ivory tower. All strokey-chin theology chats should go down in the context of friendships like this. Thanks for stretching my brain!
  • heirodule
    Continues to Interest
Always gives something interesting to listen to in the realm of theological discussion from a generally conservative viewpoint. They have guests with challenging views. They've gotten MUCh better about making sure Alistair gets to say something closer to the start rather than the end of the discussion, which is good, because Alastair is almost always salient.
  • BradMillsa
    Great topics and conversations.
I listen to several podcasts per week and Mere Fidelity is one my favorites. The guys tackle unique topics and bring diverse views to the table. I highly recommend it.
  • Brian.....
    Excellent Christian Discussion
Largely helpful, immensely well-done, and very Biblical, Mere Fidelity is my favorite Podcast. Occasionally they use some really deep theological terms (big words) that are difficult to follow. Otherwise, excellent work!
