    Wall paneling
A house I owned several years ago had dark walnut wall paneling in the front room. It was installed much like Jaycee talks about in this episode. Both Jaycee and Cindy speak well and make it easy to follow the discussion. I like the Q & A approach. I really appreciate the spelling as some words are not obvious.

    Great podcast!
They cover almost any home improvement topic you can think of. Jacy really knows his stuff and doesn’t waste the listener’s time. Some people say that Cindy is annoying, but I think she makes the podcast more listenable by breaking up the run on information with important questions and throws in a funny comment every now and then.

    Co host
Mumbles incoherently; is there no one else around to co host?

Content Great, Presentation needs a lot of work
I gave this four stars because I like the home improvement tips that are given. I had no idea that there was something like this available However , I wish that the information was presented as a conversation rather than just being read. Most of the time Co-host Cindy seems completely uninterested, but throws in the occasional obligatory “cool,” “uh-huh,” or scripted question of clarification. While the spelling of product names is practical it gets a bit annoying in my opinion. In spite of these criticisms, I will continue to listen, because I love thinking about this stuff. Keep ‘em coming.

Good info; Co-hosts don’t mesh well
There’s a well of knowledge to be found here, but for me, Cindy’s presence makes it difficult to drink from it. Maybe I would better understand her mannerisms if there was a video version or something, but in this audio-only format she seems almost annoyed that she’s there and occasionally makes these seemingly snide comments out of nowhere. The problem may be that she was intended to be the equivalent of a producer, but then was also shoehorned into a co-host role to move Jacy along or prompt him. It’s an understandably difficult role to fill given how information-heavy the episodes are: it’s almost impossible for Jacy to not have a “droning” effect. I do think it would be worth a shot to let him host alone and allow Cindy the freedom to focus on production. They seem like genuinely nice people who work hard to provide solid information, but in my opinion, they just don’t mesh well in this format.

    No nonsense, just good information!
This isn’t your run of the mill podcast. Where most podcasts spend a lot of time on pure conversation, this really focuses on giving you good information to take into your job or DIY work. Jacy is a very knowledgeable host, and this podcast has helped me with many projects.

    Great podcast, great hosts!
The podcast is a great, deep dive into random topics relating to home ownership and home improvement. They go deep enough into a topic to really learn what you need to know, without feeling like I’m in over my head. I’m reading some reviews complaining about the cohost and I don’t know what these people are smoking. I think she’s a really good complement to Jacy, her offhand comments/jokes/anecdotes are hilarious, and she seems to ask “what’s that?” Or “how does that work?” EVERY time I start getting lost, allowing me to learn even more about the topic. Keep up the great show!

    Mixed feelings...
Guy is great, truly. Very informative and helpful. But he needs a far better cohost who actually wants to be there, doesn't make cardboard seem more exciting, and her off hand jokes and little snide comments are so irritating, that it makes me want to stop listening right then and there. Not to mention, her voice almost puts me to sleep, nevermind the annoying things she says. Seriously, reading the comments, I'm apparently not the only one who feels this way. And I am not trying to be mean, whatsoever, this is just my feelings on how to dramatically improve your podcast, which is definitely worth a listen, if you can get past the points I mentioned earlier.

    Best House Podcast
I learn so much from listening to them. Great dynamic between the two! Always a great day when there’s an episode to listen to.

    Absolutely Love ( & need )
This podcast is filled with tons of great topics & information that helps any homeowner. I separated from the military, so once I bought my first home at 25, I listen religiously. I love the history in the beginning, commentaries, and how they cover everything. Just wish you guys did longer episodes 😅 I always loved being hands on with projects, wood working, DIY so this is my go-to for help. They inspire me to always start (& properly do so) my projects. Thank you guys so much! -Taylor Stafford

    Hmmm.. hmmm... hmmm... hmmm
Nope. Main guy is great. Woman is so annoying she actually makes hard to pay attention to what the man is saying. Very unfortunate.

    Informative and descriptive
Great home improvement podcast. I like the historical perspective behind the educational tips and tricks. Also, love the beat box intro and outro. LOL. Keep up the great work. Also, your YouTube videos are helpful too. I really appreciate that you don’t skip steps or skim over important info. For example, on the garbage disposal installation video...mentioning the split ring retainer and need for split ring pliers saved me multiple trips to the store!

I’ve been a homeowner for over 10 years and this show gives me tips and tricks that I’ve never thought of! Thanks!

    Love it
I love the information and cindy’s funny commentary. Great informative show.

    Informative without over explaining
I like this podcast. I’m neutral about the theme music. I enjoy the presentation of the information and the host covers multiple facets of the topic, which is nice. A good length to offer valuable info without stretching the topic further than it can go, which I appreciate greatly compared to podcasts that thin out a few minor facts and fluff them up for an hour. It’s a good listen!

    Informative Show
I love this show but I cannot stand to hear the beatboxing intro & outro LOL.

Great podcast! Clear and reliable info👍
Jacy does a great job providing clear and helpful information. Your episodes on crawl space air quality and moisture were both very informative and pointed me in the right direction. Great place to start when tackling large projects. Thank you!

    Unbelievably necessary & amazing
I cannot express how helpful this podcast is. My husband and I are renovating a 1930’s farmhouse and this has been one of the best resources. However, I have been listing and found it incredibly helpful before we bought the farmhouse. They are short, informative and jam packed with the information you need- no extra blah blah like other podcasts out there!!! If you aren’t listening, you’re missing out.

    Cohost needs to go
It’s so hard to listen over the cohost! She has nothing to offer other than asking irrelevant questions.

    Helpful AND Entertaining...
After hearing about the window shrink film, I purchased a 3M window insulation kit from Amazon. My living room and bedroom are significantly warmer now as the New York winter approaches. I am truly grateful for the time you put into recording this podcast. No matter how many years pass in my 100 year old home, there are always projects. Thank you for recording podcasts full of information that make life easier. (And I can’t get enough of your accent.)

    Lose the cohost
It’s already been said... this show would be amazing if it wasn’t for the cohost.

    Co host
Sorry C-host is annoying. Can’t listen anymore.
  • Act_Accordingly
    Informative and fun!
Love the show. I started at episode #1 a few months ago, and I’m finally caught up. I’ve learned so much and feel more confident maintaining and improving my home! Both hosts are great too. :-)
  • ALAPAKl
    Great Host
Love the show! Please get rid of the co-host as they have nothing to offer other than annoyingly interrupting the host with no added value. Thanks.

    History, Humor, Home improvement!
Very informative and approachable. Incredibly comprehensive array of topics covered. I appreciate the historic context, fun facts and gentle ribbing between the hosts
  • Pshenitsa
    Love the co-host
The co=host makes the show. She’s funny and keeps the host from assuming everyone knows what he’s talking about. The dynamic is brilliant.
  • Really annoyed 2.0
Get rid of the co-host please
I don’t know how you stand her
  • Mha74
    Co host is great
Of course the host is amazing, but I’ve just read a number of reviews that bash the co-host. I think her contribution is invaluable. She interjects at all the right times to ask really useful questions, and breaks up the narration so it’s not so one-note. I’ve gleaned something useful from every single episode I’ve listened to, even ones I thought I wouldn’t need to listen to. This has become one of my favorite podcasts, and this is coming from an almost there diy-er who generally mainly listens to news podcasts like the daily. This pod has given me the tools to actually start some of my projects, so thank you for that.
  • RollTheRs
    Awful co-host
Please get a new co-host or go solo. The whole time she says nothing useful. I just hear a lot of grunting from her. The info is good otherwise.

    Saw Horse Episode
Love the podcast. That being said, I’d never pay for sawhorses. I screw small wooden pallets to 2.5-3’ lengths of 2x4 board. That’s cheap, easily replaced and perfectly functional. Great show. Keep up the good work.
  • orlandoDaveo
    Read the reviews !
As other reviewers have said, this could be a 5 star podcast. If it were not for the "co-host" who adds nothing but distracting one-word comments or hmmms. Host is well spoken & easy to listen to.
  • Fun1894
    Co-host
She adds nothing. The constant grunting is awful.

    Audio
Great podcast Horrible audio Gentleman sounds like he’s in a closet feet away from mic.
  • txgarden
    Good information
Good podcast that would be great if not for the barely audible “cohost” interrupting constantly. Really useful information.
  • WRX ROB 12345
    Great podcast
Short and sweet with easy and informative explanations. Love the history to start most podcasts before getting into details. Great tips, fun to listen to.

One of my fav homeowner podcasts
I might not be in the market for every product they discuss BUT I still listen because I’m guaranteed to learn something interesting in every episode. And I noticed some less than favorable reviews about Cindy. I think she brings value on and even more off the podcast. I’ve reached out a few times to Fix It with questions and Cindy is the one who responds. She’s prompt, helpful and has personality.
  • RedRaquelle
Sassy lady and detailed dude ftw
This podcast is always giving me something to talk about with my coworkers and is helping me to learn how to take better care of my home and lawn. I see that some people aren’t into the female cohost - I like how aloof she is. I like how she teases the guy about how down in the weeds he gets on stuff. Don’t get me wrong tho, I also like how he gets into the details of project instructions and product compatibility; and he throws in some interesting history too. I like them both, the guy does interesting research and she’s sassy and practical. Also, I like how they stay on topic and don’t ramble (like a lot of other podcasters and this reviewer.)
  • MsEvaD
Great content, cohost needs to go
You know when you were a kid and were telling your mom a really awesome story but she was only half listening because she was taking to Karen from down the street on the phone with the curly cord in the kitchen? That’s how I feel about the co-host. The host is bringing the energy and facts and solid content, but the cohost is really phoning it in. She sounds so blatantly disinterested it hurts me. GET OFF THE PHONE MOM AND PAY ATTENTION TO MY COOL PODCAST FACTS!
  • Frost198717
    What’s with the girl?
Why is the female host even on there? She has no idea about anything the male host is talking about and the only dialogue she can contribute is “wow”s “yep”s, and “uh-huh”s. It’s time to cut her out or get a co-host who can actually contribute
  • Agent Unicorn
    Informative for homeowners
I use this podcast as a jumping off point when considering DIY. It helps me decide if the project is above my skill set/tool set or not. I really enjoy the format, to the point and well organized. Thanks guys and keep it up.

    Love this podcast
My wife and I are currently trying to buy a house and so in the mean time I’ve been listening to this podcast at work. I started from the first episode and as of this week I’ve caught up to the latest episode. Looking forward to being able to use what I’ve learned on our new house. Dylan Henderson

Well put together segments, worth a listen.
I really enjoy listening to this podcast as i drive. Not every episode is up my alley, but there are tons of episodes to listen to, new ones are released regularly, and they do a great job of creating bite-sized overviews of different projects and include history, practical advice, and recommended materials and tools to do the job with, but avoid shilling products. All in all a fantastically run podcast.
  • Cory*t
    Love the podcast
Great podcast a lot of in depth dummy proof info. The lady is constantly picking on the guy and kind of rude when he’s explaining things. But other than that I like it a lot
  • Paperstar1540
    Good information, terrible “conversation”
This podcast is basically the host reading a bunch of information *at* his cohost, who basically sits there and says thing like “okay,” “right,” and “what’s that?” It would be so much better if both hosts had an actual conversation about the topic instead of 90% informational monologging. But I like that the episodes are focused topics and good 20 minute primers.
  • Namekoff
    Co host is incredibly annoying
This show would get 5 stars but the co host is unbearable. All she does is complain and belittle the host. I’m trying to learn something and all she does is make snarky comments. She has no purpose and this show would be 100 times better without her.
  • BeSaved
    Wide variety of topics
Nice depth. I enjoy the history and trivia of the techniques and materials discussed. Fans of duct tape will like the “Survival Supplies” episode.
