About 90% of my life growing up has been centered around sports, from both on the court as a player and on the couch as a fan. Now, as I study graphic design at Grand Canyon University, I begin my next journey as a creative and am actively seeking ways on how to better, educate and separate myself upon graduation. Once I discovered this podcast, my whole outlook on the subject has changed for the better. Now, it’s become my number one resource for knowledge on this niche-market we’re all passionate about. It has even led to me making some connections I never would have otherwise and I’ve even had an hourlong phone conversation with Jose Lopez, creative director of the Houston Rockets. Super informative, constantly inspirational. The light and fun banter reminds me that the people I’m looking up to, studying, and trying to catch up to are real people who at one point were looking up to and studying others in the community. Most guests are asked about their design/art origin stories which is a great way to show that a lot of creatives had similar thoughts and inspirations as I did growing up, giving me confidence in the path I’m following. Won’t let me rate 5000 stars.🤷‍♂️

I work as a Graphic Designer for the Ontario Reign and I love listing to the podcast on my way into work, it really helps get me in the right head space before sitting down at a project and it's also great to hear what other designers, many of whom I look up to, have gone through and that they were on the same path I am now. The Markers of Sport podcast in general is a fantastic podcast, but I especially loved the episode with Brit Davis. Not only is it one of the best graphic design podcasts out, but it being a sports niche podcast sets it apart from all the others in such a unique way, giving an inside look at the sports design industry. It also is less interview and more just great convo which I appreciate. 5 stars all the way. Highly recommend.

When I found this podcast, it was like a dream come true. I have always wondered not only who was designing for sports/teams, but also what went into it. On top of that, Adam does a great job as a host and this allows the guest to really show their personality. I am not even half way through the list, but the content has been great and I can’t wait to keep learning. Keep it up Adam!

I stumbled upon this podcast around 2 months ago and I blew through every single episode during my commute to and from work. I am almost through listening to each episode for the 2nd time, and I cant seem to get enough. Adam is extremely well researched and truly sincere with each of his guests. I found this podcast while struggling to find my place in the industry and this show has motivated me to not give up on my dream. This podcast has helped me put things in perspective and helped me realize the traits I share with some of the worlds best designers. Adam you'll never know how much this show has done for me but I thank you for what you have done and continue to do. Keep up the great work.

I have to admit, I didn't think there was that many people who love sports and design as much as I did, and boy was I wrong--and I love it. I love the fact that they talk about design as well as the business and creative director type roles. This podcast is an amazing value. Very few places allow you this kind of insight to working in the design industry. Schools rarely teach you how you struggle and adapt and overcome the obstacles we all face on our journey in this business. Here you get to hear from the very best to see how they evolved into their careers and what it took to get to the top. I can't recommend this podcast enough. Whether you are a beginner or have been doing this 20+ years like myself, it is invaluable.

I stumbled opon this postcast through twitter a year or so ago. Taught me many valuable lessons and gave me insights on what its like working in sports as a designer. Adam knowns how to have a great conversations with his guests on the podcasts. Looking forward to many more!

If you’re in the sports business, even if you’re not exactly in design, this is a must listen. The conversations are great and the amount of knowledge and experience you gain from listening to these podcast is incredible. Listen to this podcast with Evernote or a notepad open because you’re going to want to write down these quotes and suggestions and take them to heart.

I've thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the MoS podcast back catalog since discovering it and the new eps can't come quickly enough. Adam shows well rounded knowledge of the industry in a macro and micro sense and I'm pretty impressed with the names that have participated. Valuable to date as a inspiration/primer for people interested in this type of career. I am very eager to see where this progresses over time.

While titled as a Sports Design Podcast, it ventures into other areas of Sports, such as marketing and branding. I discovered Makers of Sport about a week or two ago, and have been frantically listening each day to every podcast Adam has put out. It's not only very informational for anyone in the industry, but also doubles as a motivational tool. It's amazing to hear the stories of everyone who has became sucessful in this industry. Not only do you get their story, but personal isnights and advice which in turn lights a fire within you to keep working hard to achieve your goals. Keep up the good work Adam!

As a die-hard sports fan and a senior level graphic designer that has worked in the sports industry, I was extremely happy to find Adam’s podcast. Adam gives invaluable advice and encouragement that even as a designer with 16 years of experience, I find incredibly helpful in my day-to-day work life. I especially enjoy the half-time episodes since they give a break from the interview format (which I also enjoy). While the name states that this is a podcast for designers working in the sports industry, the content can often be applied or related to any industry of design, not just sports. As another listener said in an earlier review, the show is advertisement and sponsor free which is something I both appreciate and enjoy. Thanks for all you do Adam.

As a young designer in the sports industry, this podcast has been such a useful tool at such a vital time in my career. I am one of two designers on a newly developed in-house team (about a year old). I yearn for creative advice and knowledge from a more experienced professional, Makers of Sport gives me my fix. I’ve listened to every episode of Makers of Sport, yes, every single episode, after discovering the podcast a couple of months ago. I must say that this is my favorite podcast. The subject matter has never been covered (to my knowledge) in the way that Adam covers it. I love hearing the voices and stories of some of my favorite designers. Adam asks great questions and gets the most out of every guest. Whether you are an industry vet, seasoned pro, or rookie designer this podcast is a must.

First and foremost, this review is long overdue. (Sorry, Adam!) Makers of Sport is an excellent podcast for designers who are fascinated by the visual components of sports marketing. The interviews are well-researched, informative, entertaining, and feature many of the best designers in the industry. The alternating “Halftime” episodes are not to be missed, as they are a free education in many of the topics not covered in design classes, which are highly beneficial to new people entering the field as well as experienced designers who may be contemplating a career change. I look forward to listening to Makers of Sport for a long time to come. Keep up the great work!

If you are considering breaking into sports design, you should definitely check out this podcast. Hearing the journeys of the different designers getting there start has been very inspirational and given me the right motivation and guidance needed to work in sports design. The podcast was a great resource for my graduate thesis!

Does a good job with the interviews, nice back and forth flow with guests, halftimes are great nuggets and content is organic.
