Raya21004Great Show for us rare Sox fansWriting this to try and support this podcast. A group of people who love the White Sox and who want to see them be great. They provide great insight and reliable news for the Sox.

Matthew WJThese guys are boringI gave these guys another chance cuz I wanted more Sox news and they are dedicated…but they aren’t funny and they think they’re funny. Zero charisma. I’ll follow Fegan on the socials cuz he is a dedicated Sox beat reporter and a good writer.

57kitJim & likeGreat content, and allowing that I don’t know how difficult it is to speak for an hour straight, Jim, please stop using like as a filler word. It’s very distracting, and takes away from the point you are making. Like, ya know, like, ya know, like, like, ya know, like, like, ya know.

Elian KazEnjoyable listenEven when the play on the field is severely lacking.

Ricardo_1223Good stuffNew to baseball and these guys do a good job not getting too into the weeds with whats going on. Keeps me informed

Deadhead-Dan10I’m back for my yearly punishment…Last year has by far been the least I’ve ever followed the team due to a combo of their play and personal issues. This is my first return to any Sox podcast for about 9-10 months. I wouldn’t kick it off with any other show to get caught up on the Good, Bad and Ugly than Sox Machine! Your pal, Deadhead-Dan Normal IL

The AlexandrianChe Guevara and Friedrich Engels (sometimes) Talk Sox BaseballWhat a bunch of leftist, progressive blather! From myth-making about owner collusion to, like two Puritanical ninnies, pedantically talking down to their audience as if they are kindergarteners (remember to wear your mask when Frau Lightfoot let’s you back into GRF), Sox fans deserve better then these two intellectual midwits. They go about each podcast feigning actual knowledge about baseball and pepper each episode with grammar that is almost as poor and vapid as their knowledge of politics, economics, and history. Don’t waste your time. Now, these two dolts actually think climate change is causing the Australian Open to become unbearably hot… Watermelons.

White Sox 2020Thank you Josh and Jim!Thank you, Josh and Jim, for your continuing deep analytical evaluation of this awful team and organization. It saddens me greatly that my favorite sports team has regressed to this degree and I can’t imagine how frustrating it is for the two of you to cover them in so much depth day in and day out. I’ll stick with you through it all with hopes for a winning season in one of these upcoming years. I’ve stopped listening to and watching the games as I live in Texas and devote my time to Rangers baseball which has a winning attitude and is a joy to follow. But I’ll follow the WS through you guys as long as you’ll continue to subject yourself to this abuse. May you both be rewarded soon for your commitment. You’re the best!

P.O.S. 88Good analysis, but hard to listen to.I like the format and structure of this podcast. The analysis is good and they strike the right mix of qualitative assessments with advanced stats to understand and explain what’s happening with the team. Jim Margalus is great and always has thoughtful insights to break down the current issues the Sox are facing. However…I find Josh Nelson pretty hard to listen to. His analysis is good, but he has some speaking mannerisms that are truly grating. He almost always says the full name of the team including the city, and frequently adds the year, so that the phrase “two thousand and twenty three Chicago White Sox” is spoken many times per episode, often multiple times in the same sentence. No normal fan talks that way – just say “the White Sox” or “this year’s team” or something! It’s a White Sox podcast and it’s obvious from the context that you’re talking about the current team. If you say “the Sox” instead of “two thousand and twenty three Chicago White Sox” no one is going to think you’re talking about the 1986 Red Sox. Similarly, he almost always says the full name of the players “Lucas Giolito” or “Luis Robert Jr.” instead of just the last name or even just saying “him”. It’s a weirdly formal way of speaking, and I find it distracting and really off-putting. The recent trade episodes were an example of how this is especially painful as he continues to say “Chicago White Sox” and “Los Angeles Angels” and “Lucas Giolito” throughout the episode.

Jack1669I’ve had enoughI used to have a hard time waiting for Jim to finally get to his point but I found this to be almost comical. I didn’t think the co-host would be the one to drive me away but, congratulations Josh, you did it. Obviously you have been spending too much time hanging around WSCR because those idiots have rubbed off on you. Without going into a huge rant all I’m going to say is I know firsthand that not all women tell the truth. I have personally seen at least one perjure herself in court for strictly monetary benefits. Your over the top venomous hatred for a player without having proof is disgusting. I don’t like the guy either but to me the woman sounds like she didn’t get her way and now somebody is going to pay. I’ve been in the player’s shoes and guess what. He might not be as guilty as you think he is. Had you at least considered that fact I might still be listening.

mnhtrsGood info but…Some really good info and topics. Lots of knowledge from both Josh and Jim. However! They really need to edit this podcast because at times it’s borderline unlistenable. Particularly when Jim “you know” can’t get a thought across concisely or goes off on nonsensical tangent. 5 stars if they edited prior to release. I still keep listening, but forward 15 seconds sometimes when Jim is talking.

bigzman34Honest content and is a great listenJosh and Jim have done an excellent job in breaking down key moments in individual games and series. No sugarcoating here, just lots of fun conversations and digging deep with advanced stats is a major plus. Even their coverage during the off-season helps make the time go a bit smoothly, especially during the holidays. It is definitely one of the first podcasts worth checking out. As a lifelong White Sox fan, I highly recommend subscribing and check out their website

AxsHacksGreat podcastThey are always going to shoot you straight. Jim and Josh provide an interesting perspective.

luksli81Great White Sox coverageVery informative

jns75Great Sox Info, Great Hosts!Great podcast for all things Sox. Both Jim and Josh are great hosts and the podcast is straightforward, informative, and entertaining. There’s no gimmicks or yelling and screaming for just for the sake for it. Love it.

Austin xmfijmgGood podcast but they take sports betting moneyGreat podcast for Sox content but they take money from predatory sports betting companies. Literally give them money and I guess they’ll say whatever you want. That’s why I give them two stars. It’s filled with ads which I’m fine with but once he starts shoving the lies about how easy it is to win cash, free money, etc. and all the tactics these companies lose it disappointed me so much. Some podcasts are better than this with some ethics but this one is not.
-
10110101100Boring, repetitive, biasThe song the same song, been listening since 2015. They find a way to be equally pessimistic as when the Sox were in pre-rebuild stages of their franchise.
-
not mcafeeTanny & Herbgo listen to locked on sox. at least there Herbie is a lib but he doesn’t scorn those who aren’t like josh does.
-
johnpk1969Negative talkLove the insights most of the time but they seem to spend more time bashing Sox players instead of uplifting. I’m all for constructive criticism but the hatred for certain players and coaches are a real downer. The only thing missing from them and Cubs minions is if they yapped about attendance. It’s not all bad, just wish they’d feed on how good they’re doing and not hound on the bad stuff no matter on how small, remember, first place team without Eloy and Robert!

Mots250Best sox podcastIt’s simply the best sox podcast there is. They provide intelligent timely analysis that leaves you a more informed fan. Keep up the good work.
-
ICAddisonIt’s really the bestI’ve been listening to the Pod since it started and have been reading Jim since the original Sox Machine. Having moved away from the south side I don’t get to see many games so most of my Sox coverage is mediated by Josh, Jim and Pnoles and it is appreciated. I always look forward to seeing new pods show up in my feed Monday morning. Thank you for letting the world know about the south side.
-
bafinaireBest Source for White Sox analysisBoth this podcast and the website soxmachine.com are the best sources for White Sox news and analysis on the web. Great production value as well. I’ve been following Jim and Josh since the beginning and appreciate all the blood sweat and tears they’ve put into this project.

ltw001Too much Josh and Politics not enough SoxBeen a listener for a couple of years now and the podcast has been pretty brutal at times this year. Take the most recent podcast as an example. This past 7-10 days has been easily the most exciting stretch in the last decade. A no hitter. A player of the week. Taking 2 out 3 from the Cubs Winning 9 of their last 10. Yet Josh and Jim spend the entire first half of the podcast talking about protests and their views on the subject. I get it. It deserves to be talked about but I’m not terribly interested in their opinions on the issue. Same goes for their frequent commentary in previous podcast about Covid. Josh’s attempts at humor make me cringe but it is at least tolerable when he is talking about the Sox. I’m not a “stick to sports” guy but “Sox Machine” podcast should be focused on the Sox. Especially when there is finally positive stuff happening on the field. The teams performance deserves better than what this podcast has been providing of late.

Las Vegas 1234So disappointedSo disappointed that Josh feels the need to editorialize his personal political and societal views on a baseball podcast. He is insufferable. Jim is more subtle. Still, I don’t listen to sport podcasts to hear sociology lectures or woke social criticism. They take the joy out of baseball. I have enough issues of my own to deal with. Good luck boys. I am unsubscribing.

GigprestoSox fan on the East CoastAs a White Sox fan in New England, I feel like I’m a rare breed. I really enjoy your podcasts, I learn something new, and usually agree with the co-hosts (or maybe they agree with me!). 😷 Keep up the good work!

Miro708Here it isMy name is Miro and I’ve been a closet listener since day 1. It’s to the point that I always thought I left a review and just today I scrolled down and realized I never did!! These guys here at Sox Machine are as real as it gets. They are fans but also aren’t biased, which is important. There are always new shows and new tidbits that will keep me returning. Keep it up team!!

Shane2772Real FansThese guys are real fans and are not afraid to criticize the club. They know their stuff. Best Sox pod out there.
-
pelopotaMy favorite podcast for yearsI listen to many Chicago sports pods and this has been my favorite for about 4 years now. Entertaining, great guests, interesting insight, fun banter. Thanks everyone!

iPhone ,Pass..Podcast is slow and there’s way too many advertisements!
-
Brad2169Best White Sox PodcastThis is the best White Sox podcast out there hands down. I followed them when they were on South Side Sox and back to Sox Machine. Great guests and breakdown of the team during the season and offseason.
-
Joe OstrowskiA must listen! This is perfect for busy Sox fans during the rebuild. Josh and Jim do a great job of balancing their coverage of the MLB club with insight on prospects climbing the ranks. Nice work! 👍 That Joe Ostrowski guy is really good with the sports betting stuff but he probably smells. 😄
-
knc21Big Fan!In the White Sox rebuild era, there are a lot of questions and Jim and Josh provide great insight. Their content extends outside the Southside of Chicago to the rest of the MLB and Minor Leagues, overall a great baseball podcast.
-
J4149A Must Listen! If you’re a dedicated Sox fan who like me follows the South Side and all the minor league affiliates during the rebuild process, this is a MUST listen. Added it to my morning routine a while back and it hasn’t disappointed!
-
LossOhDon’t leave josh aloneHe spent all this time ranting how bad the Sox are and kept going on and on about it. Besides that pretty good.
-
TotallytomatoAlways interesting and insightfulI subscribe to a few White Sox focused podcasts and this is the one I listen to as soon as a new one is available. Good way to keep track of what is going on in Chicago and the minors. I’m loving their discussions/speculation of the 2019 and beyond roster. Good guests that add solid content and insight. Now I just need to figure out Patreon support. I wish there was an option to give the $ for a year in one payment.
-
UnemployedGreat podcastOne of my favorite podcasts. Great at up dating on the minor leagues
-
Doug RokoszFantastic podcast, insight, fan interaction.I cannot speak highly enough about this podcast, and the website itself. Jim and Josh find a wide array of White Sox and baseball related topics to discuss and give knowledgeable insight to, bring on a plethora of interesting guests from within the White Sox organization or from the general baseball world, and do a great job interacting with the readers and listeners. P.O. Sox is a great segment, and allowing the listeners to get involved in the podcast this way adds a special element to weekly show. I look forward to the walks between classes every Monday morning thanks to the show. Thanks for all you guys do!

Gutteridge70Invaluable to the serious White Sox fan.I have been a Sox fan since the early 1960's and have an unquechable interest all things Sox. After following the SSS website site for years. Upon learning about the podcast I purchased an i-pod ,subscribed to I-tunes and started downloading. The podcast reflected the excellence of the the website. Margulus and Nelson have voices that are much easier to listen to than the Sox radio broadcasters. Their reporting of events on and off the field are timely and thoughtful. Their analysis of the Sox activity especially regarding the rebuild never pulls any punches. I particularly look forward to their non Chicago MLB guests for their viewpoints on the Sox.
-
jm_manSox infoIt is great to be able to focus on White Sox talk during my commute to work everyday. There is a good mix of current team information along with prospect updates.

Jose Valentine's MustacheBest place for Sox newsThis is the best place for unbiased Sox news. They have great guests and the production value is fantastic!

Pohodo3Best white six podcastSmartest baseball nerds covering the six on itunes
-
Pstride33Great detailed look at the SoxThis is a really great podcast for those who want to follow the White Sox closely. They provide a balanced perspective on all things Sox, and they do really well covering the minor league affiliates. The Sox have a lot of potential right now, and these guys help you stay up to date with the rebuild. Love this podcast.
-
Acs246A must-listen for any Sox fanI could talk at length about the quality of the guests or about the passion that Josh and Jim bring to the show, but what makes this podcast so special is how it evolves to better suit the listeners' needs. A week's worth of games is too much to recap once a week? Fine, let's create a midweek show after every series. You want to know how the rebuild is progressing? Fine, let's add a minor league report each week. You want extra content each week? Fine, let's create a Patreon account version of the podcast. I can't imagine what they will do when the Sox make the playoffs, but I know for sure I will be listening.

Born WisdomGreat stuffBeen digging this podcast since the beginning.

Drinovsz38Essential Listening for All Sox FansI tried a few different White Sox podcasts before finding South Side Sox and let me tell you I stopped searching immediately. Josh, Jim and crew provide amazing insight into not only the current Major League roster, but the entire Sox system. They pay attention to the listeners feedback to improve the show year over year, and tailor the content to what's relevant at any given time (I.e farm system in 2017). These guys have made me a much more knowledgeable White Sox fan and I'm grateful for it! Subscribe now, you won't regret it.
