    Epic! Thank you
Thank you for helping me stay grounded, you guys and gals remind me what it’s like to reflect the character of Jesus. It’s something we all need. Especially now. And thank you for the laughs, also needed! Peace and love, DT

    Why Not Be Hopeful?
There is so much beauty and hope in the Bible and in the Christian faith! And in this world! And in the Church. Why focus on discouraging topics and points of view? Why argue? The Christian podcasts I listen to that bring about fruit in my life focus on encouraging and strengthening, often through Scripture and testimonies or wise teaching. That is what builds our faith. We need to be mindful to fill our minds with what is nourishing.

    An honest Christian podcast.
I really appreciate how the hosts of the Holy Post are willing to hold their tribe (evangelical American Christianity) accountable.

    Same, Reasonable Balance
I have felt so grateful that there are other Christians who feel like I do about politics, and what it means to be a Christian in our world today.

    Woke Christianity
I used to listen to this podcast and it was a little left leaning. Listening to their most recent podcast was just infuriating. Talking about anyone who votes republican as a bad person. Not one time talking about the other side or their stances and lies. Please don’t pretend this is a Christian podcast. It’s so gross.

    Constructive Critique
Update: I’m unsubscribed and don’t know if I’ll return anytime soon. They’re just as bad as the conservatives they loathe I love the Holy Post. I’m a weekly listener. It provides a great foil to many other Christian political podcasts and voices. Also, it’s hilarious. As of late, I’ve grown tired of only really hearing about Christian Nationalism on this podcast. I get it, CN is bad. Trump is bad. But can you talk about something different for like a week? If CN and trump disappeared tomorrow, what would you talk about? Just like I stopped listening to The Briefing years ago because Mohler only ever talked about LGBT and abortion, I don’t want to hear the exact same thing from the HP post every week. CN is not a new phenomenon in church history. It won’t destroy the world or America. And if it does, why does that matter? Just try something else for a bit please 🙏🏻 This podcast would also massively benefit from either having someone co-host who doesn’t agree on everything the others hosts do, or from more frequent interviews of Christians with varying views. Often the show feels like an echo-chamber, which is sad:/ EDIT: was hoping that as more reviews like this one were coming in, they’d address this or maybe course correct or in the very least, bring on differing opinions, but still nothing. I was a weekly listener first time I reviewed the podcast but that is becoming less and less

    Wokeness has ruined Phil
Phil has turned into a weak woke “Christian”. Recently this show attacked Matt Walsh for his new film. The fact is, these pastors are wanting us as Christian to not fight against sin and oppression and instead turn our head and ignore evil. Be forewarned.

    My Favorite Podcast Until…
…it got so political. I used to love listening to this unique Christian commentary. I got introduced to ideas and people that enriched my spiritual progress. But then 2020 rolled around and they just jumped on the popular cultural bandwagon. I wish they would’ve stuck to what they know best.

Top tier comedy & Christianity content
I’m forever grateful to have found this podcast. It’s hilarious, thoughtful and educational. Who knew you could have all three? I do enjoy some NotB, sorry Kaitlyn, and the banter is one of my favorite parts. We all need a little levity in our lives. The hosts bring thoughtful perspectives, and I’ve benefited from listening to these different points of view. Highly recommend!

    Wanna be media company
FF the many dumb ads- THATS really what they think about most-not getting a real job- wanna be celebrities- Why do they advertise selling tickets like people would want to SEE them “in person”. What a stupid culture we have and they contribute to it.

    I love the Holy Post
I’ve been listening to this podcast for the past couple of years. My faith has gone through growth the past 4-5 years, and increasingly I have found myself as a Christian with no political or evangelical home. I find myself somewhere in the “middle/moderate” of so many extreme opinions, and often the Holy Post has resonated with my own thoughts and observations. I’ve read some of the criticisms aimed at THP, and I just want to say - I LOVE Phil. I love his banter and humor, and if it wasn’t for him the show would get way too serious, way too fast, all of the time. Don’t get me wrong - I love the whole team, but appreciate Phil. His humor and banter with Skye and Kaitlyn is what keeps me coming back. They tackle current events, but do it with some levity. Thank God. If I want to listen to serious, depressing news I can just turn on my tv. Do I agree with everything they say theologically or politically? Absolutely not. But I appreciate their attempt to tackle hard issues.

    #632 on Pro Life stance
You did say the goal is to have less abortions, but left out the fact that abortions have increased since Dobbs was enacted. (See Gutmacher etc). In actual fact, number of abortions went down during Obama & Biden. Now they have increased dramatically, while gun violence has also increased! Why not tell the whole story??

    Podcast for the normies
I just want to thank you all for putting out a pod for the Jesus-following normies of the world. I was raised in a strict evangelical tradition in the south. 2016 was a spiritual gut punch. I began to educate myself in the years that have followed. I have become painfully aware of the influence that power, money, and misogyny have had on my lifelong faith tradition. I’ve realized that I cannot speak about certain things with my own mother. It’s pretty heartbreaking. I will always consider myself to be a follower of Jesus, even if using the label of “Christian” gives me a little bit of the ick these days due to the MAGA stain that has dirtied so many in our faith. Thank you guys for speaking truth. Thank you for refusing to be drowned out by the loud angry voices.

    Losing a loyal fan
I’ve been listening to this podcast since 2020. I have learned so much over the years from the thoughtful discussions about current events in the world and in the American church. The podcast gave me hope and laughter as a nurse in the dark pandemic years, and for that I am so grateful. However, lately, this podcast has been increasingly negative. I listen to the podcast and afterwards feel an overwhelming sense of cynicism. There is an unspoken stereotype of the “bad Christian” on the right and the “good Christian” who leans left. As believers, we’re called to unity in the church regardless of political thought. We are also called to build up the church. This podcast is falling into the divisiveness of today’s media culture. I feel that Kaitlyn is the only one who is able to strike that balance of constructive criticism with humility, while casting vision and hope for the future. The other main characters have become self-promoting and seem blind to their tendency to do so. I hope that the Holy Post team can collectively reflect on their goals, and offer the hope of the gospel that Christians and non-Christians alike are desperate to hear.

Don’t You Go Dying On Me!
I really really enjoy this podcast and I have so for a while. You guys are discussing important world related issues that affect Christians and non-Christians very thoughtful and you know your material well and it’s clear that you are well read and you know your theology. most importantly, I greatly appreciate your willingness to discuss controversial things that can affect your reputations. I particularly enjoyed the interviews with David French as well. It’s so refreshing to see Christians, be able to take deep dives into difficult subjects, and remain civil and friendly, but yet not wishy-washy or weak.. I think that you all have something unique and special and incredibly timely. I love that you have a woman, so accomplished and professional, particularly in theology.. it really is valuable to see women in this role and I’m hopeful for my daughters to be encouraged by Kaitlyn. please stay humble and do not become wise in your own eyes. Please never forget that you have not received anything from yourself, and all of it from God, but simultaneously thank you so much for working so hard and trying to be faithful to God and not people. We need you don’t get tired of doing good. Today glory to God forever! One question that arose on show 631: I hear the point on democrats largely seeming to have policies that have seemingly lessened abortion as opposed to republicans unwittingly increasing abortions. But I’ve heard this rebuttal. Since we know sexual sin and abortion as other sin, are ultimately heart issues, do you think that the policies and cultural effect of progressive views are effecting abortion more overall and increasing abortions overall despite some programs lessening them some. I don’t mean that either part my can change the heart, but should I vote for a party that seems so openly hostile to Biblical values? I recognize also that republicans may talk more favorably of Biblical views and live the opposite. But that’s my struggle particularly around the abortion side.

    Thank you
I started listening to the Holy Post 4-5 years ago when I discovered a place or home that expressed my frustrations and confusion in the marriage of faith and politics in American evangelicalism. In a confusing political climate, I thought about leaving the evangelical church I had been a part of for 30 years. I have now found a place of peace and a greater love for Jesus and my Christian friends. I have remained in my church and I am very grateful to the Holy Post for informing me, and helping me keep my eyes on Jesus. The Holy Post was there when I was wrestling with the Republican Party intersecting with my faith. I no longer hold to conservative politics, but my faith has grown stronger and the evangelical church is still where I worship. Thank you Holy Post for supporting me through a difficult time.

    French Fried Friday
I used to love this podcast until it started spending too much time bashing rather than discussing. Decided to take another look thinking perhaps they had engaged in some self-examination. Seeing David French Friday told me all I needed to know - they have gone full tilt into the progressive realm but probably, like French, continue to identity as conservatives.

    STILL Please be better
I used to enjoy listening to this podcast. However, the hosts more and more delight in tearing down believers to their political right. They critique Christian nationalism but refuse (are blind?) to equally critique the flaws of the politicized “Christian” left, this has become a divisive, unfair, and blind-to-their-own-hypocrisy podcast. I plead with the hosts to take out the log in their own eye. I want to listen to you, but I fear your Christianity is just as compromised with progressive (cloaked as “compassion”) political beliefs as Christian nationalists. Your vision of the nation is just colored blue, not red. Jesus sides with neither. Jesus is for his gospel. His righteousness (honor, esteem, acceptance) is based off of Jesus and gospel alone, not how many cheap political shots you win. You would do well to make the gospel your focus again. EDIT: echoing the other sentiment recently left, I too tried to keep listening, hoping for a change. Nope. Skye, Phil, and Kaitlyn (and even David French) double-down on taking Left-Wing talking points (many out of context) and using them to skewer Christians on the political right. Though I share some of their distaste and condemnation of Right-Wing causes claiming God’s view is their view, seriously….BUY A MIRROR HOLY POST! Your blindness is sickening and I will sadly no longer listen. You have become your own parody.

This podcast can be really annoying
I give this podcast an average of 2 stars and only recommending it to friends with caveats. Why? (and I say this only for the good of the podcast in general) Phil Vischer says the most inappropriate things at the most inappropriate times, derailing good conversations with the other thoughtful hosts with sophomoric and inane attempts at humor and cringeworthy stories. I usually skip to the interview (5 stars) or listen to one of the HP Plus podcasts (5 stars—I am a subscriber).

    One-sided, no balance of opinion
I am a Christian. I love Jesus. I have four kids. I love our public school and our community. I am always trying to teach my kids how Jesus loved, how to speak truth while loving others. I also am a republican and agree more with conservative policy. I was pretty surprised and saddened by the one-sided, pretty depressing opinions on this show of the right and how they’re portraying republicans. They said some outright wrong things and there was no one to balance out or say “hey, actually i feel differently about that”
  • Jay_Scott
    Kind of Hypocritical
In this show you will hear lots of admonitions about how mixing politics and Christianity is a heresy, while spending the entire time talking about politics and Christianity. Funny thing, they talk a lot about the issues with Trump while not really getting into the issues with say a church flying a rainbow flag - at least that I have heard. This is far from a balanced view, this is like listening to The View or the Matt Walsh show for a particular segment of the population.

Highlights are the female co-hosts and guests
I listen to this podcast regularly because they land some valuable guests and have occasional beneficial insights. However, I have some serious gripes: 1) Skye tends to waste the interview time with long-winded questions and interjections crafted to get the guests to say what he wants to hear in a sort of moral therapy session where his personal thoughts and fears are validated—rather than offering the guests a chance to demonstrate why they were invited to the show. 2) The host chat often becomes nearly insufferable between Phil and Skye until the third host gets a turn to speak. Phil frequently talks over everyone else just to get his smart-alec jokes in, and Skye’s input usually turns into complaints about how people should just think more like he does. Kaitlyn S. is the bright spot here. She obviously spends time offline with real people in her church and usually gives society the benefit of the doubt that they’re doing the best they can. She and Esau offer balanced theological perspective. If Skye would spend time learning about the art of interviewing people, and if Phil would learn to better moderate the group than air his grievances about the people he clashes with online, this could be a much better voice in Christian media. As it is, it tends to tear down as much as it builds up.

    Great show
I have been listening for over a year now and find the show to be very informative and fun. I love the insightful questions Skye asks in interviews, how Kaitlyn keeps everyone grounded and Phil adds a lightheartedness to heavy topics. I tell all my friends about it because nowhere else have I found guidance on how to follow Christ faithfully in difficult topics of culture and politics. So thank you!

One of the best podcasts out there!
Really good stuff! Pretty much most of the time! They guys mentioned something today. Not every episode is going to resonate with people every time in a way that changes their life. Just like you don’t love every movie on Netflix or whatever streaming platform you use. That’s ok. Do I agree with every view they have? No. Do I find every aspect of the show amazing? No. Do I think Phil is always funny? Definitely No. Haha. :p But that’s ok because I applaud these guys for leaning into hard conversations and showing people how to disagree sometimes. And wait for it. Not cancel them or bash them in the reviews of their podcast. For the people that don’t think Phil is funny? That’s fine. You don’t have to think that. For the people that don’t love every aspect of every episode. That’s ok. You are entitled to your opinion. Just remember it’s crucial to not try to turn your opinion into fact if you are trying to stay objective in listening to the show.

    A Wizard Should Know Better
Sad what this thing has become, always hoped they would be more Gandalf than Saruman. At some point the ents are going to realize they’ve been cutting down trees to feed their own egos and cash making machines. Lame lame lame.

    Disappointed
I am so disappointed in the turn the Holy Post has taken. When I first started listening a couple of years ago, it was a fun and lighthearted way to engage with culture from a Christian perspective. It has become so terribly pretentious and prideful. There is no joy left and the unrelenting audible sighs are just not what I need in my ears right now. The Holy Post is no longer a breath of fresh air and something different; it sounds like every other formulaic podcast/YouTube video. For what it’s worth, French Fridays are the only reason I’ve been sticking around. I appreciate the grounding and differing perspectives that David French brings to the conversation.

    Church Decline
Has anyone noticed that the growth of the internet and church leadership industry seemed to occur in proportion to the decline of religion in America. Seems like a significant correlation.

    A GREAT podcast!
Keep trying to get rid of news of the butt! It’s hard to share the serious conversation when the podcast starts with Jr high humor! You’re so right Kaitlyn ! Thank you so so much for discussing very relevant faith issues that need to be given profound head space ! Proud to hear you’re on a list with Tim Keller❤️

    Challenges you to think differently
Yes it’s funny. Yes it snarky. And yes it questions the church today and whether or not Christ would recognize his people in the world. The hosts have strong opinions, but back them up with their knowledge of the Bible. I am on who questions much of what I believe about the world. Thank you for making this apart of my spiritual journey.

Great Podcast for Christians Across The Spectrum
As a believer who often doesn’t see herself reflected in mainstream media but also is not seeing myself in deconstructed Christianity it feels so good to find intelligent, self-effacing, honest, Christ-loving, goofy, encouraging, challenging spirit-food. Yeah!!!

    Two Worlds Collide
I deeply appreciate The Holy Post for its great balanced coverage of Christian topics. Though it is a bit more conservative than I am on some things, I have it in my feed to keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening in more conservative / moderate spaces. Over the past few years I have also discovered a more ancient and beautiful faith. So today, I almost fell over when I saw Pastor Zahnd on your podcast. It was like two of my worlds colliding! I had to go ahead and subscribe, even though I’ve already bought the book on audio. I highly suggest pairing this book with at least his book, Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God. It will do a lot to complete the framework of where he is coming from theologically. I’m so excited for this audience to be introduced to Pastor Zahnd!!

    Thank you, Bob the Tomato
Phil (and the team), thank you for being a voice of reason and civil discourse and humor in this political climate. Phil, I was raised on Veggie Tales. I’m still amazed at how my adult Autistic brother can still recall any Bible story if you did an episode on it. I appreciate your old work and I deeply appreciate your new work. I feel like Bob the Tomato is still looking out for me as an adult as I weather feeling sometimes disoriented by the American Evangelical church that I grew up in and still love and hurt for. Thank you for your voice. Don’t stop.

Good and challenging show, but can get too snarky and lacks in practicality
I enjoy this show. It shares many hard, but necessary truths and in many ways are prophetic watchdogs of American Christian evangelical culture. I appreciate it and am thankful for the ways that this show has opened my eyes to ways that Christian culture doesn’t entirely act like Jesus. I also enjoy Phil’s comedy very much. However, sometimes this show can get too snarky and demonstrate (likely unintentionally) a sense of hopelessness. I therefore have walked away from it several times feeling hopeless at the state of the American church, and it has many times fueled my cynicism toward the church, not encouraged me in spite of how American evangelical culture falls short. This show lacks in practicality many times too. What can we do, especially as laypeople, not as pastors, to apply certain things that are being shared, or things that a certain guest speaks about? Also, is there any hope? Sometimes I leave this show feeling hopeless and unsure what I can do as a layperson with little/no say in my local church, except get more bitter and more cynical. Thank you for this show, though. I still do enjoy it.
