    Nuggets of gold
Such a wealth of wisdom and insight delivered with grace and simplicity. While I’m not an executive or a coach- yet, with each episode, I find either validation or a new way to frame my growth thoughts. Thank you, Tom.

    Mastering Anxiety
Such a helpful tool in this month’s episode - for myself and for my clients. So helpful to focus on empathy and self-compassion when anxiety is on the rise, and the idea of “taming the wild child” had me laughing out loud, a nice gift when thinking about such a tough topic. “A scared kid wants their fears taken seriously.” Don’t we all? Thank you, Tom, for your vulnerability and candid guidance.

Impactful Leadership Lessons through Great Storytelling.
Tom is a masterful storyteller who weaves engaging stories and lessons. There is a theme to each one and references to many others throughout as well so you can really hear all the different parts working together. In addition, he explains and creates materials for the different models to make it all become something that can be easily grasped and implemented. I’m grateful he is willing to share his experience and expertise through this podcast.

I wish it was a conversation not a one-man play
The topics are really interesting and people seem to get a lot out of it but I really struggle to connect because he acts out a conversation when I wish he’d just bring the guests on to have that exact conversation. It just feels weird.

    Bite Size Wisdom
I first heard of Tom through “Coaching for Leaders”, I’m in the lower levels of Management looking to move up, and becoming a better leader is a big part of that. Many leadership podcasts deal in vagueness and executive level information. While Tom’s advice is definitely applicable to higher echelons it’s the practical application of his advice to any level. We all manage expectations. We all oversee productivity. It’s that personal connection and self reflection that separates leaders and managers. Also as an aside, as someone who listens to many many podcasts, Toms voice is just delightful. Update: still the best leadership coaching podcast. I’ve decided to start listening from the beginning and there’s like 15 years of episodes wow Update: I’d like to update my review to 1/5 based on the fact that if Tom hadn’t taught me Sorting and labeling, I wouldn’t have been angry at our guest speaker for talking for an hour with literally no structure. I probably wouldn’t have noticed how bad it was without knowing this information. So Thanks Tom :) Update: Shoutout to Todd Update Update: Tom’s podcast has a secondary effect, listening to it not every episode might be applicable to everyone but even if they aren’t listening to them changes your mindset on how to be a leader. I recently got passed over for promotion for a more seasoned leader, but because of my mindset and willingness to accept feedback I learned from Tom I was able to create with my manager a development plan that included a lateral move exposing me to new skills and experience. No doubt me from a decade ago would have sulked and whined. Tom talks a lot about leadership but when you listen really listen it boils down to one thing the only way to lead others is to manage yourself. Update update update: um pumpernickel

Much more than a leadership Podcast
My wife listens to your podcast regularly, which means I listen every so often. Each time I do, I am struck by how relatable your stories and advice are to interacting with people in general. I’m not in a leadership role in the workplace, but I do serve as a GM for several friends in our Dungeons and Dragons campaign.(Game Master for anyone outside the table top role playing game community) The tips and lessons I’ve heard from several episodes, have helped improve my conflict resolution, communication, and even presentation skills in my leadership role at our game table(or zoom call because it is 2023 after all and scheduling in person meet ups are near impossible.) The Episode “How to Stay Calm Under Fire” was the one that really struck a chord with me, and I ended up suggesting it to several of my GM friends. Fantastic podcast, and would definitely recommend!

A balm to soothe the soul
As leaders in the work place it is often lonely and challenging. People are a puzzle and often we overlook how we can get in our own way of being perceived the way we’d like to be perceived. I’ve found when I’m struggling with a particularly challenging situation, Tom usually has had a similar situation that he recreates with delightful skill and empathy.
