    Round Robin?
The Big East does not play Round Robin. They play Home and Home. Round Robin is when four in a group all play each other once such as in the Group Stage of the World Cup or ATP Championships.

    Go Dukes!
I’ve been listening to the pod for years but it was super awesome that you guys talked about JMU! (I know it was payed for… by an absolute legend!) I can’t wait to see how this new team and coaching staff look!

    Superb
I wish I could give Gary and Matt a Horns Down. But, alas, I cannot. Horns Up!

    Share the wealth
I feel they talk about the same teams all the time. Their summer shoot around seems to be the same teams every year. It’s a good podcast but wish they talked more about other teams. I’m a seton hall fan and they never talked about Kadary Richmond. He goes to St John’s and now everyone is talking about him.

    Zags protecting the Galactic Republic
Happy May the 4th. Should the Zags receive an honorary NCAA championship trophy for helping stop the droid attack on the Wookiees? For reference, Axel Dench a forward from our 1999 Elite 8 team, played as wookie chieftain Merumeru who led the defense of Kashyyyk. Thank you and keep up the great work!

    So much fun
Terrific balance of humor and serious basketball throughout the season, from the blue bloods to the smaller schools. By Selection Sunday you have a good sense of who most teams are, which makes the tournament a more enjoyable watch. If I had one constructive suggestion when discussing games, it’s to dive a little deeper into matchups and the “eye test” over KenPom and Quad 1 wins and predictive metrics. But I love what you guys do, thanks!

    Entertaining podcast, but…
It’s an entertaining, fun podcast, but when either Parrish or Norlander aren’t on the pod and one of the other two CBS guys fill in, it just isn’t as good, because the other two guys don’t bring any personality to the show. Neither Kyle Boone nor David Cobb are broadcasters. They’re sportswriters. That said, the 9/18/23 pod about Kansas and Arterio Morris was good because Parrish kept the thing rolling with his humorous banter.

    The Purdue Love Fest
Glad this season is over so these 2 can stop talking about Purdue. It was obnoxious. So glad they didn’t end up winning the national title or we would’ve never heard the end of it.

    Zach Edey fan show
Usually really like the show, but I haven’t ever heard a “neutral” podcast gush over one player so much. You would think that Zach Edey was god’s gift to basketball from their most recent episode about the Elite Eight game. Not even a Tenn or Purdue fan. Just maybe don’t excuse any and all criticisms of Edey because you love him so much.

    Boring
They have an insecure live chat moderator that berates listeners. It’s probably GP being childish, but stupid regardless.

    Measuring Greatness Inconsistently?
Why do we measure the greatness of a coach or team by what they do in the NCAA Tourney yet not that of a league? Is that not inconsistent? Media types like to point to metrics and early season non-conference play as the measure. But most of the common people look to Tourney success—like the ACC has had the last 15 years with 5 champs, 6 final four appearances or just high winning % year after year. Let’s be consistent fellas! 😊 — Blue Gator

Love the show- why the rattle?
Love the show. What’s up w poker chip rattle in background? Is that Nando making a side hustle?

Do you even hear the hypocrisy
POD 1: UVA got blasted and that shows we were right they shouldn’t have been in the tourney. POD 2: ACC got all 4 of their remaining teams to the S16, but everyone knows tourney results aren’t the best way to judge conferences. Instead our opinions of conferences should get decided by nov&dec games. Like Gary Parish can’t even hear the words he’s constantly spouting from his mouth.

The Committee is jumping over sharks
I always believed the selection committee has always placed a couple of teams a seed higher or lower in order to have a particular matchup/plot line. This year however is the first year where the seeds in my opinion are out of whack. It seems the primary directive was to create compelling tv matchups. To which they’ve succeeded. But I don’t like it. It’s the gateway to engineering who makes the final four. The tournament will always be awesome but again I don’t like it.

    Great Podcast
This is a amazing podcast and it is so informational about college hoops, the hosts are great and they know what they are talking about. Overall this is my favorite podcast that I currently listen to!
  • Sjakjrnc
    Sdsu
Sdsu gets 2 quad 1 wins and the selection committee ranks them 14th overall and not one comment on either of their wins in over a week?

    Outstanding
This show is informative and hilarious. It has great insight into college basketball and you always finish an episode more informed than when you started. If you have the option, watching the video version includes amazing facial expressions that enhance your enjoyment. #moreofus

    KenPom
This once proud podcast, similar to the blue blood Indiana Hoosiers, has not finished in the top 25 in KenPom since 2016. Sad.

Might have laughed out loud more in this episode than ever! There’s still 10 minutes left!!

It’s fine. Premarital sex is cool
Not enough is made about how terrible Norlander’s music opinions are. Just remarkably insufferable. Feel bad for what his kids have to listen to at home. Getting made fun of at school because Dad drops them off blaring Rush or some obscure 90s jam band

    Groin Injury
I never root for injuries of course, but when I heard on this podcast the way Gary Parrish said the word “groin,” I now root for the occasional groin injury that players can quickly and fully recover from. Shouts to Christian Kirk’s testicular torsion (groin injury).

    Always a good listen
Only negative is Parish is usually not competitive on the Final 4 and 1

    Love to the “Mid-majors”?
Too much love to the Power Fives! Love the show, but you two knuckleheads are acting too much like Jay Bills. You both exemplify the problem with NCAAM - the little guy gets screwed. Start talking JMU (and others)!!

    Norlander simply ruins the show
Clearly a pre-Coach K DUKE die hard listening to Norlander’s biased takes are absurd 50% of the time & annoying 100% . However, his biases combined with incredible amounts of misinformation makes listening to him unbearable. The guy clearly has no concept of what makes DUKE unique among all schools & why the best players in the country want to go play in #BullCity or Lexington. Trying to make the suggesting NIL is the main reason Cooper Flagg is going to DUKE proves he’s completely ignorant about their program works. The ACC makes up 31% of the NBA today, usually sends at least 1 team to the Final4 every year & doesn’t take a back seat to any conference based on Natty’s won in the modern era. Coupled with the fact that most years over the last decade DUKE’s started 2-3 FRESHMEN OAD’s YOY. Questioning DUKE’s recruiting thought process is laughable especially being critical of a 4yr recruit committing to DUKE who dominated Peach Jam this year. For instance, FLIP strong FROSH Yr has him in play for POY honors but was ranked in the 100’s when Scheyer started recruiting him. BTW- Eventually, it will be common to hear Coach Scheyer is the #Baby🐐so how could you possibly pretend his 1st yr was anything less than STELLAR. Scheyer’s Head Coaching career began with only had 2 guys who ever wore a DUKE jersey & led by the FRESHMEN he recruited. YR1- finishing 27–9 the ACC exceeded all expectations but in reality when DUKE has its full team healthy they only lost 2 gms. Still, Coach Scheyer led his 1st young team to win the ACC TOURNEY CHAMPIONSHIP —insanely great year. Coach K’s inherited a team with 3 NBA players & still only finished 17-13 & it took him 5 yrs to win his 1st Championship. “But go ahead & hate us just bc you ain’t us!”

    Norlander is Shameless
Norlander is off his rocker! Couldn’t credit Arkansas for beating Kansas in 23. Credited Auburn and Marquette . . . couldn’t credit Arkansas. Must have been a fluke. Just beat his #1 in exhibition. Edey fouled out. Nevertheless, kiss the rings. Admit bias. Razorbacks are conditioned to it (see ESPN). Arkansas top 10.

    Arrogant Host
GP needs to stop thinking he’s smarter and better than everyone else. Becoming unbearable to listen to, will listen to Field of 68.

    Fun, Informative, Comprehensive
Norlander and GP always keep this show interesting and informative. I attribute much of my cbb fandom to these guys, who tell great stories and give relevant updates on all spheres of the mens cbb world. I love that they can keep people engaged in the off-season, and I particularly enjoy their focused, deep-dive episodes like the shoot-arounds, league previews, and regional March Madness breakdowns. There’s more of us.

    Joy killer
Gary Parrish is mean, sneering, belittling, and vindictive. Fandom is, for him, a zero sum game. He can be happy only by taking joy from others. No. Thank. You.

    Mailbag: NIL for basketball-only schools?
Love the show! And loved your BB coaches poll discussion of NIL. But do your NIL issues really apply to basketball-only schools? I can see where football schools would have to commit tens of millions $ to dozens of recruits year after year, for on-field results that will be several years away. So their basketball programs get included in huge NIL collectives with cloudy motives and dubious funding. But in basketball it’s smaller dollars with more direct results. Take Creighton, you say that the top three players (Kalkbrenner, Trey, Baylor) probably got $150k to $200k each to come back. That’s $500k total for one year, with direct results on the court this season. As a middle-income alum I’d kick in $1k or $2k, and there might be 500 fans at my level. There are certainly larger donors for $10k or $20k or maybe $50k that make $500k fairly easy to attain without a huge shadowy NIL collective. Does that make sense? @danquinlin

    The Ghost of Tom Fornelli
Thanks for sleeping on the Lobos! I still laugh when I think about GP’s double tennis elbow and Norlander’s dead deer. Looking forward to another year of genuine camaraderie and banter this CBB season.

How do they have a 4.6?
This is the greatest show on the planet. If you think it’s anything less than a 6/5 stars, you just don’t understand it. From the banter, to the inside jokes, to the genuinely thoughtful insight on the sport, to everything far and between, this show has everything and more. The day this show dies will be a day that I lose part of my soul. God bless you GP and Norlander. You bring joy to my heart.

    Must listen hoops podcast
Easily the best hoops podcast out there. Sure, Gary Parrish can’t change a tire or fix anything around the house, but if his family needed him to rank the top 10 things they should have for dinner every night, he’d be awesome at it.

A reasonable aspiration for this upcoming year is that GP becomes the second best podcaster in the state.

    Them Eers
I think it’s time that GP and Norlander take a look at what my mountaineers have been cooking down in Morgantown. Best transfer class that has filled all the needs of its roster with loaded talent. An Elite facilitating pg in Kriisa, incredible athlete and scorer in Raequan Battle, Jose Perez who is coming for blood this year after getting robbed the opportunity to play this past year (also averaged 19 and was the 2022 preseason MAAC poy), Tre Mitchell at 4 who can stretch the floor paired with Jesse Edwards in the front court. That looks like a scary starting lineup to me. Throw in a terrific 6 man in Joe Toussaint and some development from young guys off the bench and it’s hard to say this team is anything less than top 25 on paper. Don’t forget the winningest active coach will be leading this talent filled squad. There is a lot of excitement in morgantown and I think you two should look into it.

    Over rated!
GP and Norlander are over rated. Too much of the podcast discussion is about them and their current locations. Add that to the goofball comments which aren’t funny. Goodbye!

    Stop promoting Premarital Sexual Relations
I love the show except for the promotion of premarital sexual relations. Don’t make us throw out all the stats of problems in society and abuse from attitudes by people thinking everyone is a consenting adult. A bit hypocritical to condemn actions by some and promote abuses by others. You know what I mean.
