    Science communication at its best
I’ve been listening for a few years now and have found every show to be full of great information. My son has brain damage from cranial radiation as a child and I have gleaned nuggets of helpful ideas. I love her curiosity and eagerness to always know more.

    What do we actually know?
As a public school teacher, I am repeatedly told that some new technique is worthwhile because it’s consistent with how the brain works. Representatives of companies come at us with amygdala and hippocampus, prefrontal decision making and brain stem automaticity, serotonin and dopamine, EKGs and fMRI evidence. But mostly it’s hogwash. Their claims amount to saying that students will improve their time running the mile if they strengthen their quads and they have just the product. This show is a wonderfully rounded guide to brain science, appropriate for anyone who can pay attention. Dr. Campbell makes many different strands of brain science accessible, using technical vocabulary comprehensibly, which allows me to investigate fields that are relevant to me. This has helped me build immunity to the commercial phrenology that so often tries to pass itself off as indisputable. Thank you, Ginger!

Brain Science for the curious and the knowledgeable
Dr. Campbell interviews authors of authoritative volumes which provide cogent overviews of specific areas of neurological research, rich with details. Fascinating stuff!

    Sometimes great, but occasionally not
Ginger is just terrific. Speaks well, seems very nice, knows her stuff and good guests. 4 stars because some episodes are frustratingly weak and they always seem to be the ones I’m mostly interested in. The recent one on meditation drove me nuts. I figured I’d finally learn if meditation improves the biology of the brain. It was never covered. But that’s what the program was about. It was mostly about definitions and broad generalities. And the ones on mind vs brain just seem light or too philosophical for me.

Truly a gem of the podcasting world!
Dr. Campbell has interviews some of the greatest minds trying to understand our brains and our humanity! She builds her interviews in a carefully organized crescendo so scientists and authors bring out illuminating answers. Throughout the years, she has shared findings, trends , and challenges of neuroscience that bring insight to our thinking, doing,, and feeling. It’s knowledge everyone should have! I am a big fan and supporter, I subscribe to be able to access episodes and go back to listen again and make connections. Unlike many a podcast, her content is enduring: it will continue to be relevant if not in its accuracy, at the very least as a way to see the scientific method in action: how scientists make observations, generate hypotheses, test them and come up with theories, adjust them, discard them, and start anew.

    Love the podcast
I’m a former microbiologist trying to learn more about neuroscience for work (and pleasure). I found this podcast has a wide range of topics and varying degrees of depth. It’s become my go-to

    Carol Travis episode.
I was happily listening to what I thought was a scientific podcast. I want my science to be about studies using the scientific method and their results. I turned it off when the talk became political. I can hear about politics everywhere. I was hoping to have some relief. I won’t be listening any more.

    Easy to follow
I am late to the podcast community and just started dipping my toes into it last month. From sampling many different podcasts in the psychology, philosophy, and social science, I have been able to stay engaged through Ginger’s Brain Science podcasts. They are well produced. She moves through the conversations and her speaking style is easy to follow. Thank you for the good insight.

Wish I had known this podcast earlier
Brain science is truly fascinating. This podcast talks about the intriguing questions in the field with lots of scientific evidence, reference, insights and inspirations. I love the way Dr Campbell hosts and the questions she asks the guests. Truly thankful that I found this podcast and it has been my best companion since then.

    Best brain podcast!
Brain Science is an excellent podcast that digs deep inside the brain with a multidisciplinary approach. Dr. Ginger Campbell’s format has really helped me learn about the brain. The episodes aren’t full of fluff and games like other podcasts about the brain/mind, yet Ginger’s style is never stodgy. She asks tough questions, presents information with consistent clarity, and wraps each episode up with key ideas (that I always find particularly helpful). This is a wonderful resource for beginners, students, and experts.

Of all the cognitive science podcasts I listen to/books I have listened to/read since the mid-1980s, this one is clearly the easisest to understand, providing valuable information and insights for ALL of us as we struggle to understand ourselves and those around us. Her summaries at the end help the listener retain the information, and her thought-provoking questions about recent studies in brain-science are questions we should ALL be thinking about as we move through our days with others. As an educator for the past 33 years, this podcast it a MUST!

    Definitely the best neuroscience podcast
I have been listening to many neuroscience podcasts from many creators. This is - by far - the best podcast. This podcast is super high-level-professional as well as super easy to understand. Ginger (the creator) invests so much in each episode. She has great questions and she summarizes each episode at the end. She discusses books and comps them in incredibly deep as well as practical ways. I could go on, but it’s best if you just listen. Enjoy.

Covers nearly all areas of Neuroscience Research
I first subscribed to this podcast when I decided to major in Neuroscience assuming it would cover the usual topics discussed in my courses. To my surprise, Campbell has also recently done podcasts covering the subject of consciousness and “the hard problem.” This “hard problem” is what made me venture into neuroscience research and knowing that consciousness is sort of taboo or placed in a secluded corner in the field it is awesome to see a podcast with distinguished guests go over the topic.

    Great for Everybody
This podcast is an excellent bridge between the latest research and the interested layman. I love Neuroscience, but don’t have a career dedicated to it. Ginger is great at breaking down the key points of the studies and when appropriate, how to integrate good brain health into your life. I have bought several books recommended by this podcast. Enjoy this information as a Neuro-professional, or just to feed an interest.

    Many thanks!
I savor the info and am so appreciative that Dr. Ginger curates what’s out there to bring it to us in an accessible form. I imagine the prep for each show is monumental. Have been listening for years and a year ago became a premium subscriber. These podcasts are a gem for those interested in anything brain science.

    I Love It!
I'm an undergraduate neuroscience student, and I was so pleased when I found this podcast! I've been listening for about a year and I'm never disappointed. A lot of other (or just science) media and podcasts are either geared towards a layman's audience and isn't very informative (the usual), or sometimes you'll find one that is for such a specific audience that there could only be ~100 listeners. Dr. Ginger Campbell does a fantastic job of not being underestimating her audience's knowledge or ability to learn, while still making a program that most people would have absolutely no problem following. This podcast gives me an insider's knowledge on a broad range of neuroscience topics. It teaches me in a way that promotes my knowledge as an undergraduate student, while still being something I don't ever plan on growing past.

    Worth the time to listen
Brain Science is an easy to understand podcast that explains so much about neuroscience / brain function from multiple perspectives. Every episode (that I’ve listened to so far) features an expert thoughtfully interviewed in conversation style. I learn several new things with each interview.

    Best podcast!
This is a long overdue review. I discovered this podcast a few years ago and was immediately hooked. I couldn’t get through the back catalogue fast enough! The subject matter is fascinating, and is delivered in a way that is highly informative while being accessible to the lay listener. Unlike many podcasts, Brain Science never sacrifices content for gimmicks and sound bites. Excellent podcast!

    Best of the neuroscience podcasts
I like listening to science podcasts where researchers can present their own work, particularly when the research is related to neuroscience and psychology. Dr. Campbell stands way above most podcast hosts, IMO, because of her extensive preparation before the interview (she's read what they've published), her own thoughtful consideration of and commentary on the topics, and her ability to do a focused interview that helps listeners understand how the guest's research is connected to larger debates and ideas in the field.
