Paul C.1AI PodcastSounds like AI is reading an essay.
-
DtsJrEnjoyable but OverpricedGood stories, nice presentation but $6 for 8 hrs of content p/month, $72 for 100 hrs p/year is simply not a good value.

gypsyoceanHistory nerdI love the show! I have wanted to hear the full story of the Bay of Pigs my entire life. You told it so well, I’ve listened twice. My ex was Cuban and the whole country blamed JFK still to this day. I’m so grateful to hear what really happened and it gives me insight into the CIA and the issues they had with the late president. I feel like an entire narrative has come together for me and even the suspicions around the death of JFK. Thank you for the work you do!!! Such incredible story telling

goddess knowsRobotic voiceI like the content - with it went more in depth. The monotone speaking cadence is draining. Is AI reading in the host’s voice? Sure sounds like it does

Mattie-GKiller declassified storiesIf the CIA ever hired someone to read their secrets aloud by a campfire, it’d be Luke Lamana. Redacted is equal parts mystery, history, and smooth-voiced narration that makes you forget you’re actually learning something. Lamana doesn’t just recount declassified cases—he resurrects them. Each episode unfolds like a well-worn file folder pried open under a single flickering lightbulb. It’s part noir, part national archive, and all delivered with a voice that could talk a ghost back into its grave. Highly recommended if you’re into real-life enigmas, forgotten government files, or just really good storytelling. This isn’t your average true crime rehash—it’s a velvet-gloved dive into the shadows, guided by a host who knows exactly how to keep you leaning in.

calarky 4k👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👎🏼Impressive amount of information in all the episodes. All the episodes made me think and do my own research. In my opinion, a few episodes had slants but it definitely helped instigating curiosity into those episodes. Overall I still give it a 5 plus because episodes were well put together.
-
dkline250Great PodcastLuke Lamana has the perfect voice for telling spy stories. The stories are riveting, and I look forward to each new episode. I’ve also decided that I would make a terrible spy!
-
Chowe30Thrilling!I love this show! I eagerly wait for a new episode each week and listen right away. Great for history fans, especially if you like military or political history.

Rabble Rousing RZAMeh 🫤Sorry, I really gave it an honest try, but it just doesn’t cut it. Step it up bro cuz I will give it another shot, but that’s it for this guy.
-
OriginalItchyUninformedI’m not sure who does the background research, but much is incomplete and incorrect. Host delivers the material well.

Skylins MommyIf it has your name on it, I’m listening!!Thanks for all you have done, are doing, and will do!! Sending so much love and light your way!! 5⭐️

nik46753377Every episode has me hookedThe host does a great job narrating the episodes. He makes it easy to follow and easy to imagine what each of the characters was thinking when the events unfolded. Very well produced!
-
averydeadbirdInteresting stories but delivered in a very boring way.Couldn’t stay focused on the droning monotone.
-
Paul..archerFun conspiracy theories i guess?I was hopeful i would enjoy this…I guess there are some interesting observations made, but it largely sounds like conspiracy theories. You don’t have to look far to see where these stories fall apart. He has a nice deep voice though.

rushisthebest345Great ShowsExcellent work. Keep up the work Luke and team.

facherylLove itAll excellent episodes!! So interesting and informative, more please!
-
NSLNBODisappointingI listened to 3 episodes of this podcast and was extremely disappointed. The narrator sounds like he’s computer generated. The style of storytelling is really dull, not dynamic and engaging. Without sharing any information about the sources, the stories seem difficult to believe at face value.
-
LavenderGhost8Good podcast.I enjoy this podcast greatly. I highly suggest it. Try out this podcast yourself and see if you like it!! Don’t listen to our opinions!! Everyone has different opinions!

CazootleI zone out instantlyI want to love this podcast so bad, but I zone out in the first few minutes and am instantly lost and frustrated. This is a great podcast to put on if you need to go to sleep. It’s like having a teacher with a monotone voice instead of being a fun, interesting lesson.
-
Tapetrs77Great InfoI love hearing about the craziness in the world.

Queen4225Fascinating storiesThis is truly an exceptional Podcast. It is well written and perfectly told. The stories are tightly formatted and the host does a brilliant job of weaving the story together from start to finish. Fascinating subject matter. jcb71542MY NORTH STAR FOR ALL PODCASTSLuke Lamana, if you’re reading this, please know: your podcast is absolutely incredible, and we NEED more episodes. And Wondery - if you’re reading this, pay the man whatever he wants. Triple it if you have to. Just get him in the studio. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I absolutely need MORE episodes from this man, and from this show. This show has set the bar so high that nothing else even comes close. So, I’m currently dealing with that minor setback, lol. Luke’s voice? He could narrate a grocery list, and I’d be on the edge of my seat. Every episode is a deep, fascinating story I’ve never heard before (…obviously, bc, you know, they’re “Declassified” stories, lol). Just real, mind-blowing stuff that feels like it was meant to stay hidden. Now I’m ruined. I can’t listen to anything else. I’ve searched everywhere for something remotely like "Redacted," and... nothing. It’s officially my new north star for podcasts: single narrator, great voice, one amazing story per episode. Luke, if you’re out there, please know this: your work is incredible. Seriously, keep going. Thank you.

NativeTexicanFictionBlack panthers were not the saints that you are trying to make them. Revisionist propaganda. Next you’ll try and say communists and satanists are really the good guys.
-
Lauryn_GabrielleInterestingThis is a really amazing in depth analysis of some of the things our government has tired to hide from the public. Some are more well known and others not so much.
-
BCE87AwesomeLove war time stories and bedtime stories. Excited about this podcast
-
Sissarae27Tiresome narrativeBlack people are all victims. Police are all bad. So tired of being gaslight.
-
AmonaboatUninteresting, ai generated slopIt sounds like a 6th grader’s report being read by an ai that is trying to read it as sexily as possible. Incredibly dry and honestly horrifying to see what media has devolved into.
-
❤️HughesAI VoiceI hear the droid voice and it’s the same as on Charlie Brown when the teacher’s voice is a sad muted horn, impossible to command attention.
-
Busy and Picky ShoeshopperFascinating stories delivered poorlyY
-
oldjohnhall🤨Sounds like a 10th grader’s history report read by Ai that thinks he sounds sexy. Yeesh. Whatever the subject of a particular episode might be it’s definitely been covered more skillfully elsewhere
-
BesshomRobotic, repetitive inflectionThere are sections where the narrator falls into an extremely repetitive inflection, which is almost like a parody of the investigative podcaster style because EVERY sentence is read with the same tone. A tonal drop at the end of the sentence, and every sentence. After 30 seconds it becomes very uncomfortable to hear, and different to focus on the content.

Mikey Likes PodcastsAwesomeLuke and his teams are great on all his Podcasts. This is no exception. 5 Stars Plus.

AJW812The AI voice is terribleSeriously, is it that costly to hire a human?
-
TibbyMcGLayin’ it in a bit thick there.Maybe lay off the voice a bit.
-
crazycatkatieDevoured quicklyWonders has done it again! I do hope there will be a second season. Looking forward to more history and spycraft stories.
-
Podcast EvangelistWondery hits the range. This is the bottom of it.If you enjoy some dude with a narcotizing monotone droning on and on about material you can just read in a book, then this is the podcast for you. These tossed-off, single voice productions are Wondery at its worst.
-
Bmc85Story telling might be better than Mr.Ballen!Love this podcast have listened to each episode so far!! It’s all free don’t be fooled you just need to wait a week unless you upgrade. The story telling is A1 by telling from the caption. Great addition to the Ballen list!
-
Elvin PeñaWhere is Ballen Studios podcast?Yeah what intrigued me was Mr Ballens story telling. Very intriguing. You can learn many things from him. So there are a lot of people complaining about him monetizing himself and through other tales. I don’t get it. Where is the podcast about him? I did not see it here. I have checked all episodes and don’t see anything.
-
Fletch9615Great Podcast! If you are a fan of history, true crime, or mysteries this is a perfect hybrid podcast of the three! Definitely makes my morning commutes something to look forward to every morning.
-
LcgoezzzzOne of my top 5 favorite podcasts nowGreat story-telling. Compelling
-
TLove1995Reel you in then Rob YouPutting part two of certain stories behind a paywall is just yuck. I get bonus content or bones episodes, but the conclusion of one story???? So incredibly disappointed in Wondery and Mr B Studios smh
-
shaloujonesGreat podcastI am so impressed with this podcast. It’s so riveting and fascinating
-
Avid pod listener7SloppyAI narrator is lazy and not good? This is subpar and don’t recommend
-
hachi's ownerRe-written from WikipediaPart of a new trend of low-effort, schockly podcasts that do no original reporting. Standard for what Wondery had become.
-
Nic1417Background MusicThe content is great but the background audio makes it hard to listen:(
