    Great podcast!
I was introduced to NASCAR racing in the 60’s by my Dad. Attending races or watching them on TV was one of the ways we bonded. The Screen Vault Podcast does an excellent job of remembering the history of NASCAR. Almighty every episode rekindles the fun that my Dad experienced together before he passed away in 2001.

    The good, great, amazing
This podcast is second to none for any nascar fan. Rick and Steve open their Time Machine and take you back to nascar of years past. These interviews are so in depth that it is impossible to listen to it in open sitting so most of them happen over 2-3 weeks. If you are a nascar fan from the 70’s - 90’s this is a much watch.

    The good,bad and ugly
This podcast has potential to be great. If it didn’t take 3 weeks to get a full interview done. First 6 minutes is spent on all the ways to send Rick money the a few “dad jokes” then we finally get 20 minutes of the interview only to be followed up by Rick telling us what the interviewer said after we just heard them say it just to wait another week to get another piece of interview

    Ultimate NASCAR HISTORY
The GRAND NATIONAL SCENE/Winston Cup Scene is what this podcast honors, but Rick Houston with Steve Waid covers more than just pages from the Scene over the years. They honor the history of NASCAR as the sport of Stock Car Racing and the Culture that it was apart of and the Culture it created internally. I am proud to have been a supporter for a while and a follower pretty much since day one. If you fell out of love with NASCAR Racing as a sport this will fill the void well. Especially if you check out the YouTube Channel too!!!

    This podcast cannot go away
For everything wrong with today’s NASCAR this podcast is a weekly reminder of the greatness of the sport’s past. Rick and Steve were there and were able to experience the personalities, the drama and the competition. It is a pleasure listening to the interviews of people who were so much a part of my life over the last 30 years. Thank you, Rick and Steve!

    Passionate Documentation of History
Rick Houston and Steve Waid are the perfect team of opposite personalities that passionately present the history and characters of NASCAR. Their passion and professionalism are unmatched and the characters/stories that are interviewed and stories told are immensely interesting to this particular longtime racing fan. Every episode transports me back in time or introduces me to a new, exciting story that occurred before I was born. Rick’s ability to pull the stories out of the myriad of crew members who have appeared on the show over the years is unrivaled and fulfills the racing history nerd down inside of me!

    Caretakers of Nascar history
Rick and Steve do yeoman’s work preserving the history of our sport. The culture, the characters, even the chaos. I greatly appreciate the deep dives and the guests who are covered on the regular. This is not some quick and simple social media type pod. This is old school reporting the way it should be. The influence of long form print journalism greatly shines through. It’s the only pod I monetize and will continue to support. Keep up the great work!

The Scene Vault Podcast is the best podcast that I have personally ever listen too. Rick and Steve are great host who not only have a great perspective on the history of NASCAR, they also have many years of experience in the sport. They are very good at allowing there guest to tell their story uninterrupted and unscripted which you don’t find on many big podcast. This is the only podcast that I look forward to listening too every week when it comes out. You never know what stories or what topic will come up and that’s what makes this podcast awesome!

    NASCAR History
Preserved by two of the men responsible for writing it as it happened. More memories than there are paper an pen to document them. Keep up the great work !!

    Great interviews but
Interviews are 5 star. The corny knee slapper dad jokes before and after the interviews are a bit tough to take. End up forwarding to the interview and stopping after.

    Necessary to catalog history
Rick and Steve do a great and thorough job interviewing people that have been out of the limelight for so long, preserving great stories and happenings in NASCAR history. They also delve into the forgotten with their reliving of past “Scene” issues.

    Derrick Cope is a joke!!
I’m sorry but I was soooooo mad when Derrick won the 500 from Dale! Cope had always been a joke since then cause that to me wasn’t a true 500 win. I think Dale would of popped Derrick in the mouth anytime he wanted to. Sure, Dale got the win in 1998 but Dale got cheated in 1990. Sad part is after Derrick’s cheated win he didn’t have very much success after it. Karma ya slacker?

Great podcast if you love NASCAR history
Rick and Steve do an awesome job finding and interviewing interesting guests from NASCAR’s past. Yes they’ve interviewed many of the big names, but what I enjoy more are the interviews with the lesser known journeymen drivers who made up the core of NASCAR back in the day.

Rick and Steve have the absolute best podcast when it comes to NASCAR history. Others try but none come close to these guys. My #1 Podcast
I had a scare that this podcast had ceased so happy to get reconnected. The stories shared on this podcast are full of history facts and road warriors behind the scenes. This is truly my favorite podcast Rick and Steve keep up the great work.

    Awesome job guys
I’ve always had a deep interest in Nascar since I was about 9 years old. Like real deep, I’ve seen every cup race since the Daytona 500 1997. Every video you could find on YouTube I’ve watched. Every 500 since 1979 and on and on and on. But this show is even better than watching the old races I get the backstory on them all this way. From Buddy Parrot to Dale Jr the stories never disappoint. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story! Love listening to you guys and I still believe you will get the papers digitized someday, don’t give up!

    Best NASCAR Podcast!
Rick and Steve have done a wonderful job of presenting the history of NASCAR. It is a time portal back to the very early years, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s and even catching up with what the guests are doing currently in and outside the sport. One of the highlights of my week growing up was getting the Winston Cup Scene paper every week and now have the same joy in listening to the podcast.
  • GERMANIAN WOLF
    The Best NASCAR Podcast!
The duo of Steve Waid and Rick Houston translates to racing magic on a podcast. With Steve’s vast historical racing knowledge, along with Rick’s talented approach of interviewing, they have created an amazing product for capturing NASCAR’s history. I truly believe their cause to be noble, as many of NASCAR’s early legends are leaving us, and with this podcast, theirs stories will be preserved, in their own words. I still hope that their secondary mission of digitizing NASCAR Winston CUP Scene is eventually accomplished, over time. I truly look forward to listening to this podcast each and every week. They make me feel like I’m sitting at a table with friends who are telling me a story. 🏁
