MeiyahMeiMuch neededI’m so grateful that this podcast was made. I watched Wakanda Forever just a couple days ago (I know, I’m late) and I cried more than I expected to at the story of grief and loss and moving forward. I love that this podcast brings us more stories of Chadwick as the character and what he put into it and how his contribution was so huge. I appreciated hearing more of the backstory of the big players/actors involved too. I loved Leticia’s episode and her process. I enjoyed everyone who spoke here and the important topics that arose, like that of allyship and the discussion of the battle between the Wakandans and the Talokanil. Thank you for being so thoughtful about who was brought on and I enjoyed Ta-Nehisi’s pre/post commentary on each episode as well. Time well spent.

TheJediFanA profound podcastThis Podcast will take you on a DEEP dive on how everything went down from Chadwick Boseman’s passing,to what the creatives thought when it came down making the tough decision of if they should make a sequel or not, and so much more! I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen if you’re a fan of the Black Panther films!

melonyinjpYearning to listen all over again from the startAs with the film, which transports you to another realm, this podcast—with Ta-Nehisi‘s singular, luscious voice and insight—is deeply affecting storytelling and journalism. What a gift. What a way to steep into the depth of the film’s making and its meaning for our culture and our time. And to commune with the humans who poured their aching and humility and remembrance into it—to honor Chadwick Boseman’s vision and being. What a privilege. I need to listen to it all over again.

Jsadler208Uh huhDamn…I dare someone to listen to this and not wanna kiss Ryan Coogler’s feet. One of the best humans, best artists. Feels like Jesus just put his thumbprint into your soul, and just feels so “right” for him to be who he is and doing what he’s doing with his life. The best kind of reminder to me to do what I love. Perfect counterpart and co-laborer with Chadwick. Perfect leader to move the stone further down the path after Chadwick’s passing.

VivarezzWorth every minuteMade my heart swell and break all at the same time! Magnificent work.

SeanGerberMMMIncredible insight!I loved this podcast so much! Such fascinating insight from the storytellers behind an outstanding work of art. Marvel Studios should be making more of these, each uniquely suited to its respective film or series.

DFoxx DawsonPhenomenal Storytelling and PerspectiveThis is probably my favorite podcast I have ever heard. It is a cultural artifact with expert storytelling and also a historical account that will tell the story of the people behind this monumental film and our beloved Chadwick. Thank you to everyone involved for this gift of a show!

JeritaCLBeautifulI only recently began to listen to podcasts that give insight to how a film or show was made. This one is the best I’ve heard! I’m not sure if it’s the resonance with black culture and the representation but this made the film that much more beautiful. To hear all the meticulous effort to get the Mayan history and culture as correct as possible as well as the love and dedication to Chadwick warmed my heart. There were times when I dropped a little tear just because I was so touched to hear all the love Ryan and the cast and crew had for the project. This was honestly one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to and I’m grateful to everyone involved for giving the films and this podcast to us and our cultures. Just beautiful!

clocwrkFantastic PodcastIf you loved the film, you’ll definitely love listening to this podcast. Every episode is a deep-dive into a different aspect of the movie, and is a fascinating look at how much love and care went making sure they got it right. Not gonna lie, I choked up several times listening to the cast talk about Chadwick.

TonyaA6Great first episode**** 2/16/2023 update *** Outstanding. My sincere gratitude to all of you for this incredibly emotional podcast. Tonya A **** Thank you, Ta-Nehisi and Ryan Coogler. This initial episode was incredibly moving. My first viewing of Wakanda Forever will be on Friday morning (11/11). I look forward to future episodes of this podcast. Thank you! ***2/10/2023 I’ve just listened to episode 5. Wow. I love the care that was taken to ensure the Mexican/Maya/Meso cultures were represented respectfully. I wasn’t the only person who didn’t want the Wakandans and the Talokans to fight. I get why, but we want them to co-exist peacefully. Thank you, again, for this excellent podcast and sharing perspectives from the cast and behind the scenes crew.
-
Lewah33TerrificMy only complaint is that it’s only 6 episodes long!

ReaderJoe200What We All Need To HearThis is one of the best podcasts I have heard in a long time. I bought Wakanda Forever on 4K, but was disappointed when there were only 2 special features. This podcast is exactly what I was looking for. It gives more background in the transition from BP1 to BP2, and goes in depth at the themes, world building, and thoughts behind every character and idea. A must listen to.
-
JalloteyjrHuge fan !!!!I love hearing about the process and work it took to get the movie completed. As a Ghanaian American I love that people are becoming involved portraying a positive historical African and meso American history

Chan TeiMagicThis podcast is just magic, everything we needed and more. It brings a closure that the movie just couldn’t. The first episode found me in tears and in love with the amazing connection and friendship between Coates and Coogler. The joy of learning the beginnings of Wakanda, Ryan’s thought process, and now what the first script originally looked like before we lost our beloved hero. It’s just magic. Thank you for this. Thank you.

Calina HolteFrom one artist to anotherAs an audience member, you sit in awe of the echos of greatness, as you witness the beyond magical collaboration of collective efforts. This is what both Black Panther films provided for me, and so many others. However, what this podcast offers is a rare look at how that greatness we saw in theaters came to be, one podcast at a time!
-
Adrianna LockeDeep Dives and Deep FeelsI love this podcast. Mr. Coates does an amazing job hosting, bringing out hidden gems like the gifted journalist he is. The personal-ness of it is incredibly special. And as someone with mesoamerican heritage I so appreciated the conversation about how the values of these movies provided the scaffolding upon which to bring to life the world of Talocan with the same care as Wakanda. I felt that solidarity while watching the movie and it was so special to hear it talked about specifically.
-
Sani M.Love This PodcastThanks for this podcast .I love hearing bts of what happened with this amazing series in Marvel. Everyone involved with Black Panther movies, (Cast and Crew) y’all did an amazing job. It definitely was an experience for me!!!

Carol MarvelletteBeautiful and HauntingI don’t think a podcast has ever moved me as much as just this first episode did. I laughed, I reminisced, I mourned, and I did shed a tear or two. Chadwick Boseman was an incredible person with an incredible legacy that no one will ever be able to live up to. I felt the weight of his loss in Wakanda Forever, and it grounded the movie in truth and emotion. I can’t wait to explore how this wonderful and heartbreaking movie was made. Chadwick Boseman: Forever in our hearts, forever our King.
-
Ri1914This!!Chad made the choices the accent, the language the talent, the star. Ryan you are respected for this.

-
beeboreneeHeartfelt and GutwrenchingThis was a beautiful. It felt like overhearing a private conversation between friends. T. Coates asked thoughtful questions Ryan Coogler gave honest heartfelt answers. I was privileged to hear more about their beloved friend and consummate man, Chadwick Boseman. I came to this podcast with brotherly love and deep respect for both these men and left feeling proud standing tall. It fills my heart to the overflow to hear Black men speak with intelligence and vulnerability, to be unafraid and daring enough to give voice to deep emotion. I adored Wakanda Forever and will see it again. Thank you for pulling the curtain back. The behind the scenes imbues what I saw with life. I look forward to the coming conversations. Bravo for a podcast well done.
-
TO@NewarkCan’t wait to hear the rest!Just listened to the first episode. A very intimate portrait of the filming process that you just don’t really hear in the mainstream press. I never knew that Chadwick had such a creative involvement and was such a cheerleader for the franchise all the way back to Civil War. If want to hear about the story of these movies from the perspective of PEOPLE making art, not just “celebrities,” it sounds like this is moving in a nice direction. Excellent use of the podcast format to make it more up close and personal.
