    Low pitched ringing noise throughout
I really liked the show - bit all the low pitched ringing noises throughout the episodes drove me away. It literally sounds like “ringing in your ears”. I thought I would try to endure but it’s so bad I’m quitting the podcast.

    Curiosity
I am only 3 episodes in and I am completely invested as if I was investigating this story. I have recently fell in love with True Crime podcasts and I was stationed in Louisiana for many years years ago. I am curious to know why in Ep 2 when you were asked by the son to let him know what your intent was before he contacted his detective Father because they didn’t want any business where you intended to prove he was. dirty and involved. Why didn’t you reassure them and let them know you were not trying to prove his dad was guilty and involved?

Amazing review of an East Texas cold case
East Texas still wonders about what happened to Kelli Wilson. Great podcast! Great journalism again Wes!

    Fascinating but rage-inducing story
This was a wild ride. It’s an absolutely crazy case. Raymond and his family’s part made me absolutely furious on their behalf. This is a real-life cold case so there is no resolution at this time. (Hopefully someday!) And, yes, it does derail because the case itself got derailed. This is less the story of a missing person but how her disappearance turned into a satanic panic witch hunt incident and the resulting fallout through a bizarre chain of events.

    Great storytelling, TERRIBLE ADS
The story is so compelling and interesting. The podcast itself is really great. The constantly repeating ads promoting churches and online worship is not. Once an episode, okay, but twice in a row all throughout is excessive and distracting. Otherwise I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good, multi-faceted true crime story.

    Ads are all religious?
Why are the ads in this podcast all religious and promoting Christian podcasts and churches?

    Drags
Interviews are rambling, story doesn’t progress. Could have told this in one episode.

    An East Texan Review
I was 12 in 1992. This story was huge. Every evening on KLTV there would be updates. This story has always been my top East Texas cold case. This podcast didn’t disappoint.

    Sad but great story
    So glad I found it.

    Kelly
After listening to this in-depth podcast my comment is the slashing of her tire was how “he” was able to get her in his car by kindly offering her a ride to the bank. All planned out to abduct her. So sorry for her family.

    Angry!!
Listening to this I’m so angry! What is wrong with people?! This is why we need to overhaul our justice systems. Shane is truly a HERO, he’s a really good man. Unfortunately so many (most) in law enforcement WILL NOT admit there’s been a mistake even once it’s been proven that the person is innocent! And I hope to God the 2 CPS workers & Barbara Bass were all arrested & charged with CHILD ABUSE! At the very least NONE of them should ever be allowed to work with children ever again & Barbara never be allowed to be a foster parent anymore either! And if Shane didn’t think of that, Shane on Him!

    Sad.
For the person who gave it 1 star for there being no closure…there’s actually NO closure in real life so what do you expect? I love very close to Gilmer and Kelly was my age - this was all anyone could talk about when it happened. Very sad that so many screw ups along the way blew this case.

    Very well done
I thought the reporting on this case was really well done. The story is very interesting and it’s a case I hadn’t heard of before. I found it really helpful that the host gives refreshers on the different names that pop back up over the course of the ten episodes. I usually listen at work so sometimes I miss small details. I wish more true crime podcasts would do that.

    So tragic
This podcast was so well done and kept me captivated, eager to learn more. As a Texan, this one hit closer to home than most. Such a tragic story for so many people.

The kind of crime reporting that supports justice
Even-handed, thorough, victim-focused on all the victims involved. I appreciate this approach and I wish every missing and murdered person got this attention.

    Cliffhanger
I’m somewhat local, the last names are all familiar. Hoping for a resolution ASAP and that there will be a season two that covers it.

    Anticipating more
This is such a sad and tragic story!! My mom was murdered when I was 16, so I’m a true crime junkie, I guess hoping for someone else to have an explanation or “closure” that I have yet to get 41 years later. I lived in a small town in Texas much like Gilmer in 1992, and could envision everything, her closing the video store, partying with friends, all of it. The damage done to so many lives is just so horrible and tragic and I hope that the private investigator along with your Podcast really can solve this case!! That being said…you calling an ‘85 Dodge Charger a “muscle car” literally made me laugh!! A ‘70 Charger is a muscle car, an ‘85 is one of Dodges worst mistakes lol Great job on telling Kelly’s story, love they way you put this together can’t wait to hear what happens after Amber turns her results in to the FBI!!

    Pleasantly Suprised
This is a great podcast. I listened to EP 1 Season 1. I wasn’t sure if I was going to continue listening, but I’m happy I did. I love the various interviews and the storyline.

    Great Listen
Really interesting. I was depressed after hearing how screwed up this left so many peoples lives though.

    Excellent podcast
I hope that you will produce more podcasts. Very well written and thought out. Easy to follow the story and timeline. Great balance of fact and info and investigation. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed this podcast!! Hoping for a season 2.

    Unbelievably stupid people!
Great job on reporting this crime. I am appalled that educated people participated in this travesty. Listening to Raymond was excruciating. I sure hope they are suing the pants off the state and each person!

Most horrible pod cast ever. Ends up with no answer!

    Ads are garbage
So far this podcast is okay. What really bothers me is the constant pushing of injectable fillers in the commercials. Tone deaf and clueless. Might cause me to abandon this podcast.
  • LoLo12-08
    hard to follow
Really enjoyed the story at first but as it went on it just became very confusing maybe it was me not paying attention but it was hard to follow just on episode 4.
  • stopthemadness44
Like the story itself, it’s all over the map
A lot of hearsay, he said/she said. Difficult for the author to put it all together through no fault of his own. What a mess. I felt like it was too much information. That poor kid- hard to believe authorities can totally destroy lives for what? Fun? I feel so sorry for all the victims involved.

    My ears are crying
So far so good with the story but goodness the ear piercing sounds in the background. I’ve almost turned it off several times because it’s so annoying. Please take those out 🙏🏻

    Very compelling story!!
This was my first podcast & and I loved it! Very compelling, Wes does a great job at telling Kelly’s story. I’m definitely hoping for a continuation and find out more about her story. Very well done.

    Excellent True Crime Podcast
I am very impressed with this true crime podcast, this is a complicated story to tell. Wes Ferguson, in my opinion, put himself at risk doing this podcast and researching what happened to Kelly Wilson. The twists and turns this story takes is fascinating! I hope Kelly Wilson’s family can receive closure someday.

Great series but fast forward through the parts with Amanda. She adds no value and is a total BSer.

    Great Podcast!
Highly addicting, grasped my attention from the start! Great all around! I can’t wait for updates about Kelly and look forward to more podcasts

    Good story bad music
The story was so compelling that I suffered through the background noise. If the producers think those noises are suspenseful they’re wrong. Timing was off too. Whoever did your mixing needs to listen to their work before posting. Sorry Wes!

    HOOKED
Wes does a great job of a bias story! He keeps you interesting PLUS ITS A CRAZY STORY!!! And glad they're people still fighting for Justice for all those 100's of 1000's cold cases. Thanks to all those helping bringing those "cold cases" home and Justice!

    Terrible background noise
This noise throughout is AWFUL! So bad I stopped listening to it. I enjoyed it for a while and then realized the headache causing noise wasn’t worth listening to.

    Holy (allegedly unholy) Deep Dive
I had never heard of this case, but Wes does a great job of explaining it and getting at all the details. I binged all the episodes in one day and am hoping for an update soon. Great work from Wes & Imperative.

I loved it! What a cast of characters! I started listening this morning and have been engrossed all day and could not stop listening!

    Wild, just wild
This is a wild story. Twists and turns and dead ends. If I myself didn’t come from a small town I’d probably not believe half of this story. Unfortunately I grew up in a town similar to Gilmer and can relate to this town in the 80s. This is a great story to listen to on a long road trip where you can cram every episode in to one day. My only complaint is there is not resolution to the murder. Otherwise this is a crazy, wild podcast.
  • Pmach5
    Well done
    Well done, this is journalism.
  • Cait Stud
    Interesting but disorganized
The first two episodes were great, but then things seem like they started to derail. The time jumps and number of people they introduce got so confusing, I didn’t understand because one minute someone’s arrested and the next they’re hindering an investigation, and then it’s totally focused on something else. I think the editing could be much better, I’m not sure I’ll finish it because I’m losing interest fast with all of the jumping around.
  • MBehrouzi
Interesting at first but hard to follow
The story telling and editing need some work. Not worth listening to imo.
  • jzhamsbd
    Good story but
Please take off the annoying sounds and ringing in the background. It overstimulates your brain.
