sarahb42A big fanDear Charlie and Natalie, I am writing this fan mail today because every single point from your episode “Manhattan Stores” felt extremely potent on the day that I listened to it. I was in New York, where I don’t currently live, on what felt like the first day of Spring. Everybody seemed totally tuned in and connected to one another… When I turned on the Exploration Live on the train I was so delighted by this batch of your reflections on the human experiences. You guys were on fire! I truly believe that weaving together earnestness and humor is the key to deep connection and understanding, and your podcast does that so beautifully. Here are the things that I liked the most: -winter in Paris theme of cooking class, readiness cues -feeling kind of bad about telling stories in a public way about people in your life -the way termpurpedic seems when you are a kid and how you start worrying about other stuff as an adult but then come back to enjoying the pleasure of the vacuum -Natalie’s impression of Dorit was so funny and I don’t even know who that is -the way that people’s way of taking notes can be beautiful by the way—what was the name of the store in Soho with the Italian lady who has lipstick on her face? I didn’t catch it- but would love to become a patron there… Thanks for everything and keep being you! Sarah

Sydneyharris770Exploration live simultaneously makes me feel smarter, inspired, and comically satiatedCharlie and Natalie have such an ease in conversation. They are truly yin and yang. I find so much joy in this podcast and learning about the hosts in general. The double slime twin episode nearly cost me my job do to laughing out loud. I also love the episode “Matrons Chair” where Charlie paints a visual of waking up in the shadow of a tree and ambling to a river and then says “This is Exploration Live”. Both hosts are incredible and actually uncovering new territory in the podcast space. They are my Lewis and Clark. The podcast is also always over an hour which I really like. Theme music rocks. I love how it feels like I’m in New York with these two rascals when they talk about their day to day. 10/10.

Poptartzz1211Bad News PSA from NYC restaurant workerGood news is podcast is great. But I have some bad news. Outdoor dining is NOT a buy. It’s all rat infested. Also, we would have to wipe down the outdoor tables before our shifts because so much soot collects there between the dinner and lunch shift. YIKES! Also the latter news taught me that we’re all being poisoned as New Yorkers. It’s just not good news.
-
ghost in the sofaNatalie is so stupid…… that she thinks she’s smart. Here for Charlie though. He’s so patient with her
-
Homosexual_propagandaYou need itLiterally the only podcast I can tolerate endlessly. Two years ago I passed Charley on the streets of Brooklyn and either we checked each other out or I was staring like a freak but I was too startstruck to say anything.

It's the DrizIt’s 5 stars but……this early-COVID vibe where the Zoom is constantly freezing so there’s just dead air after someone says “you’re frozen,” and then the 2 cannot seem to get on the same page since they can’t really hear each other, is NOT the vibe.

Kona222My favorite showI can’t tell you how much I love this show! I started listening after they were on Las Cult and I laughed so hard. I had just had my second kid, and I had to stop listening to episodes when my baby was sleeping on me because I could not control my laughter (which would wake the baby up). Charlie and Natalie are at fault for my baby’s poor sleep health, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Love this show so so much!

Big Fan LCharlie’s SingingLove you guys. Love the ideas. Love everything BUT Charlie’s singing. On a podcast built around sharing comedic premises and big ideas, it’s hard to make a musical theatre a capella cover hold weight or meaning with listeners. And it puts Natalie and the guest in a weird position to have to compliment him and encourage him to sing more, when everyone knows it’s not the time or place. I think everyone should empower him to pursue singing, if that’s what he wants, but pursue it elsewhere. You’re in New York after all
-

flandykrinlatchGood podcastThe Caleb Hearon episode changed my life
-
Trixie’s DadIt’s all downhill after the dope theme songReally tried to like this. It’s an interesting premise but it commits the cardinal sin of being boring and painfully unfunny. Count the number of times that Charlie complains about how he’s going through a hard time or Natalie whines about her nanny job. Natalie constantly interrupts or talks over Charlie as she tries to draw attention. The Sudi Green episode was especially grating because they all kept talking in baby voices. They do the Seek Treatment thing where they spend way too much time talking about mutual friends without using their names and then saying that they’ll have to talk about it more off mic.

Lauren_Christine_MaidenNameVibe is VibeThis podcast helps me every day. I was speaking with colleagues about best practices for interviewing and hiring people. I said “sometimes, you just know when it’s right. Vibe is vibe.” And they all nodded their heads because they recognized the value in that idea. Because Natalie and Charlie are geniuses. Pele.
