Cheating: When Love Lies

124

Each week host Jillian Hamilton interviews affair partners and betrayed partners who share their raw, real deeply personal stories of infidelity. Hear true stories of cheating and affairs told by the people who actually lived them. Jillian delves into this taboo topic and asks the hard questions about affairs: what constitutes an affair, who's having them, and why? These questions illicit unexpected answers that reveal both men and women as people actively seeking something - validation, escape, understanding, vengeance, thrill, love, sex, and romance - outside of marriage or committed partnerships. Occasionally Cheating: When Love Lies welcomes experts in the field of relationships, but mostly we hear directly from people who are currently navigating an affair or have experienced one.

    More like this
First off, Jillian is a excellent host. Makes this show very enjoyable to listen to. Secondly, we need more podcasts like this. Infidelity is a massive issue that isn't talked about enough and certainly not at the level of honesty and transparency that Jillian brings here.

    Good and Bad
I find the concept of the podcast very interesting and fascinating especially when it comes to the stories of the guests. But admittedly, I have mixed feelings about the host. There are times when she can be very supportive and ask great questions. But there are times when she can be very judgmental and borderline rude. The worst case of this is the Mistress living in the Home episode. I know the guest was supposed to be the “villain” but that episode was very comfortable bc of the host.

    Interruption galore
Some of the people she interviews are pretty amazing but omg will she please stop INTERRUPTING! How frustrating. Not sure how people don’t call her out on that. Please just let them finish their thoughts!

Asks fair questions, captivating perspectives, truly fascinating
Jillian is a great host, and asks a lot of the questions I’d be curious about as a listener. The people she interviews are from all walks of life—real everyday people—making the content truly fascinating. She doesn’t impart her opinion on the listener either, which I like. She provides the facts, and let’s you decide. Each episode is an interesting perspective on the “why” behind cheating. You’ll find yourself wondering what the next episode will be about, and before you know it, it’s your go to podcast.

    Great host and show
I really appreciate how Jillian asks the tough questions but with the intention of helping the subject reflect and grow from the experience. Shows like these help reduce stigma around sharing about these type of traumatic events. There should be more dialogue around these life experiences so it can help survivors heal 🤍

    The Full Story
When it comes to relationships men often get criticized no matter what. This podcast is fair and balanced for men and women. Jillian asks the difficult questions we are all thinking but would be afraid to ask. You get the full story. Great to-the-point interview style.

    Love this podcast!
Such a great listen and interesting to hear stories told from all perspectives- Jillian is a great and engaging interviewer and knows how to make her guests comfortable to share their experiences.

    I like this podcast
It took me a few listens to appreciate this podcast, but I love the ones where the actual person comes on the pod and tells their own story .. it takes alot of courage to do that. I really wish there were more women who came forward and told their stories because it’s hard to come across but I enjoyed the women’s stories who I’ve listened to so far! Great insight and great host.

    Jillian asks the right questions
Betrayal is a sensitive topic. One that we feel inclined to avoid. Whether we have experienced it ourselves or been the betrayer. Jillian gets to the heart of the circumstances that led to the experience through her thoughtful questions. As a guest I appreciated her approach as we unearthed the facts of what happened while I was living in my delulu era.

    Amazing!
These podcast episodes are so enlightening and full of candid thought provoking real life situations that I have never had a way to be so privy to before. The host, Jillian, has a special way of articulating the themes through insightful questions that we all want to hear the answers to from the guests. I am so amazed and impressed by the content presented that it leaves me craving to listen to more episodes.

    Fascinating look into healing
This podcast has been a revelation. Not only are the stories interesting and fascinating but it’s helpful to see the many ways in which people process betrayal to move on with their lives. Both men and women can benefit from the lessons learned in these stories.

    Love this show!
I think this show is awesome. As a man I didn’t think this would be something that would interest me at first, but the stories are amazing and the fact that they’re real stories and real people makes it so absorbing. Jillian is a stellar interviewer and host and her ability to lead a discussion and find people who are so engaged is what keeps me coming back for the next episode. Truly amazing idea for a show!

    Judgey Host
The host can’t seem to hide her judgement enough to stay engaged with her guests in an authentic way. I don’t care what her views are but why host this kind of podcast if you’re going to be passive aggressive to your own guests? So odd.
  • Sonsere
    Judgmental Host
I listened to a few episodes and each time I was taken aback at how judgmental the host was to her guests. Infidelity is such an emotionally charged topic and when guests are invited on the show to share their experiences the last thing they need is judgement. The two episodes that I listened to covered the cheater/betrayer and the other woman. The host was very dismissive, arrogant, and judgmental of their feelings and experiences. If you’re going to invite guests on the show and you don’t agree with their lifestyle, why have them on the show to berate them and judge them? If you’re triggered by them why even interview them? This podcast is not a safe space and I would not recommend this podcast channel.

    Terrible Host
The host of this show is abhorrent. She cuts people off, she grills people, she thinks she knows everything and she is clearly biased about several subjects. It amazes me that people willingly sign up to be “interviewed” by her when she won’t even let them tell their own story. The concept of the show is great but the host needs to be replaced.
  • vballwife
    Jillian is an awesome interviewer!
I was asked to be interviewed by Jillian, alongside my coach Beth Miller with Soulify Wellness. It was a great experience and I’m so glad I did it. I felt so comfortable with Beth as my coach and Jillian as a sympathetic interviewer. I was able to talk openly and honestly about things I have endured in regards to betrayal.

    A Breath of Fresh Air
Jillian’s podcast is one of the most insightful and encouraging collections of conversations about the world of affairs. The depth of thought and unbiased perspectives that are explored on this podcast shed light on topics that have long been kept in the dark. Thank you Jillian and the rest of the “Cheating: When Love Lies” team for courageously tackling and presenting these difficult topics through an honest and compassionate lens. -MW

The host Jillian is smart and funny, and a really great speaker. She is a terrific interviewer with interesting guests who tell all.

Every situation you can think of and so many you haven’t even considered…
Jillian takes a topic that is rarely openly discussed and usually tip toed around and comes at it from every angle. No matter how infidelity has impacted your life she has episodes/guest interviews that are relatable. This podcast is thought provoking and real making it a must listen!

A conversation we need to have
Jillian does an excellent job with a diversity of guests exploring infidelity today. Without judgement and with thoughtful questions, Jillian discusses the nuances of infidelity, the motivations and fallout. Whether you’ve been hurt by cheating, strayed yourself, or know others affected by it, Jillian’s podcast offers a fresh, contemporary examination of infidelity.

Navigating infidelity as a female AP
I love the platform Jillian has created. Infidelity isn’t black and white, Jillian encourages guests and viewers to be their authentic selves. This podcast has helped me navigate through my own infidelity and remain true to myself while opening my eyes to other perspectives. Thank you for asking questions people don’t always want to answer or hear!

    STOP. INTERRUPTING. THE. GUESTS!
The guests have interesting stories to say but the host just won’t stop interrupting! One example was she interrupted the guest with “tell me about it” while she was TELLING HER ABOUT IT! It’s so rude and unprofessional.
  • autisticAli
    Decent show
The host has a good variety of guests on that cover a lot of aspects. I appreciate that she asks intelligent questions, even one’s I’m asking as I listen! However, as a podcast, it’s difficult for me to listen to because of the constant interruptions which feel like stop starts. The flow is not clean and starts to get agitating. Please listen to the other people saying the same thing, be aware of the interrupting of guests, and speaking over them.
  • Tamgo2Tango
    Serial cheater Clark
Listening to this man repeat over and over agin that the women in his life act irrationally is beyond disgusting. He is playing a huge rule in their behavior and if mentions being affluent one more time I will literally demand proof. If he’s so affluent why does he also keep bring up I how he can’t make a move because of financial reasons. He’s coming off like a complete douche and I don’t care how good looking he is his personality is drop dead ugly. I am going to go out on a limb and say he’s not affluent his wife is and THAT is why he’s NOT leaving. You were way to easy on him.

    Refreshing and Exciting!
Host, Jillian Hamilton, is totally pushing the boundaries with this Podcast! She’s not afraid to highlight dramatic, controversial, and deeply personal topics, which help to reveal people’s deepest secrets and desires. I find the show’s guests to be relatable and intriguing. Host is articulate, provocative, and funny. These kind of stories and dialogues need to be embraced by society so we can all be aware of our tendencies and faults as human beings!! Bravo - HIGHLY recommend!!!

    Love Jillian
I really love this show, and hearing peoples vulnerable and messy stories. Jillian’s questions are so insightful, and she always follows up with exactly what I want to know. I love an intuitive host who is fully engaged. Keep up the amazing work.

So much fun and also I leaned so much!
Like a sizzling beach read / self help book / what to do AND what not to do - this podcast is a breath of fresh air while spilling tea. Love the courage of the host Jillian Hamilton - kudos for broaching those stories we need to know but are desperately afraid to ask or even imagine. Yes - it’s THAT good and juicy. Grab that sunscreen and charger and enjoy! You won’t be able to stop listening!
  • TammiTammi
    I can’t with this host!!
It’s a shame because the stories are great. But the host is terrible! She’s rude and judgmental! She says hateful things to her guests for their decisions but then takes offense when people question the morality of the fictional character she created in her short story. I literally had to unsubscribe and delete the episodes I was looking forward to listening to because I can’t handle her anymore.
  • Poddy McDowall
    Stellar Show!!
Such a compelling dive into uncomfortable yet necessary relationship territory. 🙌
  • Maxamute
    Host is RUDE
This would be a good podcast if the host would shut up and let the guest speak. She interrupts them in the middle of the question. She just previously asked to ask them another question. She seems very judge mental and is overall ANNOYING. I would listen if there was a different host.
  • MandiNunez
    Could be great.
Wow. Great stories that are overshadowed by a judgy, overly opinionated host. Don’t care about what YOU think and how YOU feel about THEIR experience and story. “I respect that…” “I don’t agree” and condescending remarks. your view is not fact, no one needs to hear it. Not your place for input, especially since it is unwarranted.
  • Temani1982
    Omg Let Them Speak!
This is such an amazing idea and I love the content but I cannot even finish the ep because the host will not let the guests even finish the answer before she interrupts with another question. I really want to hear what they were going to say but just cut off every time. It’s her show so she can do whatever interview style she likes but it’s bad and I can’t listen anymore

Good show. Too many questions of the guests. Let them speak
  • 12117889June
    It’s so direct! Love it
I am so drawn into the hosts interrogative style! She’s so blunt and straight to the point— goes right for the truth. Instead of letting the guest dance around the truth, or making us read between the lines—she gets right to the point! I will continue to listen.
  • Lizzylatersbaby
    Frustrating
The host cuts off and badgers the guest every 5 minutes. She makes these derogatory remarks like: How does this happen to you? WHAT! You are a therapist, how could you let this happen?
  • Nikki Shea
    Brave and Brilliant Podcast
Oh how I wish I would have had this podcast 10 years ago!! Jillian manages to ask every question I have in a very straight forward yet respectful and clean manner. The topic of cheating itself is taboo and ugly but she dissects it so that any listener can relate and see all sides to every situation. She’s very impressive!
  • bejwken
    Rude
The interviewer is so judge mental , if she wasn’t like that and would just let people tell there shorties this would be a great podcast but because she is so judgy it makes me not want to listen to it . Please stop judging people for their situations!!
  • MariaRamos098
    Bad form
Intensely rude interviewer who doesn't let people finish their sentences. Super rude and unacceptable to do to women

Talking about cheating through an objective lens
Jillian does a fantastic job covering the topic of cheating through an objective lens. The interviews and stories are super interesting and thought provoking. Highly recommend and happy to see someone covering this topic in such a thoughtful way.

Informative Podcast That's Sheds Light on a Difficult Topic
I recently discovered this podcast, and binge listened to the first several episodes or so. It sheds light on a topic that's often more complex than what it seems, and provides insights into infidelity and relationships. It's honest, entertaining, insightful, and at times heartbreaking.
  • SamanthaAddison
Great host who probes for the truth with a light touch.
I love this podcast and the host because she isn’t afraid to dig for the truth with probing follow up questions. Just like a good investigative reporter, she knows the real answer is rarely the first and engages her guests with humor, empathy, and great insight.
