Buffy2dayRepetitive; not for me.I’ve watched the whole series about 20 times and the dvd commentaries several times. This podcast gives the same old info: Buffy grows; Xander bad. There’s nothing new to add other than their opinions on characters’ lines which are the same opinions heard in Buffy forums before. The hosts make points about Xander then proceed to make fun of minor cis guys in the show. Pick a side. Xander isn’t even my fav character and I had to pick up my rolled eyes off the floor w/how they viewed him.

GuyBlowAllisonLove the thoughtful recapI’m a longtime Buffy fan and I’ve enjoyed listening to Kara and Stephanie rewatch the series through a progressive lens. I get that it’s not for everyone but I am very much in the camp of you can be critical of something and still love it. Although I considered leaving 4 stars merely for the pronunciation of ‘library’… it’s not a Lie Berry, Steph. lol j/k no I’m not. Love you guys.

ricesky007My new fav podcast!!I love listening to prophecy girls. Steph and Kara have excellent chemistry and do great commentary for the show. I love their recaps and all the extra bonus episodes they release. After Buffy ends, I hope they continue on in some way, covering Angel or another vamp show. These ladies are the highlight of my week.

tricialorreneHilarious, honest, real, and thoughtful!Buffy was my high school obsession. It holds a special place in my heart. This podcast also holds a special place in my heart. Steph and Kara are not only hilarious, but they provide a thought provoking and honest modern lens during their episode breakdowns. I always look forward to hearing their takes and am pleasantly surprised when they bring up a point I missed or change my mind about something. I am here for the Xander Slander. With that said, I like that they hold all characters accountable when needed. I always look forward to each episode!

Duah1One of the Best Buffy PodcastSteph and Kara are such a breath of fresh air and are amazing podcast. I look forward every week just to listen to a new episode. Keep up the great work! :)

EggLord21Highly recommendSuch a fun podcast to listen to! Steph and Kara have great friendship chemistry, they sum up the episodes concisely, and they clearly put a lot of thought into their discussions. My only complaint is that Kara often interrupts Steph to voice her own opinions. Please let Steph share her thoughts too!

jbakdiehbeixToxicToxic show that no one listens too so they have to cater to the few toxic fans, don’t even understand the show they are covering

grabler loverSoooo badPlease avoid this Podcast. I tried to give it a chance even if I don’t always act but when you feel the need to attack the fandom because people don’t agree with you? Sorry that is so far out of line and messed up. Who made these people the expert on this show? They are entitled to have their opinions but how about not dumping on people who disagree

KatsclarinetSo GoodSteph and Kara are amazing. I love the mix of review and commentary, I love how well they play off one another and allow the space for each of them to speak. This podcasts is one I listen to when I go for long runs, because it gets me out of my head and focused on the conversation. Great job ladies!! I wish Buffy never ended so this podcast would have no choice but to go on, haha.

Corabellswould never listen again.personally i need more meaningful analysis to enjoy a buffy podcast rather than a word for word recap with the most insufferable opinions based in bangel fantasy land. would not recommend this podcast to anyone else.

TaggamerExcellent Buffy PodcastMy wife and I have been listening to this Podcast for awhile now on our phones. Now I’ve added it to the IPad as well. In Season 1 we were listening to Buffering and Still Pretty but switched to Prophecy Girls for season 2. Stephanie and Kara work well together, each bringing different insights that have expanded our appreciation of the series. I like their balanced approach of humor and seriousness that stays on topic without an excessive amount of conversations unrelated to the series at all. Keep it up!

kaygjay1Fantastic Buffy DiscussionProphecy Girls is a great podcast about a great show. The hosts consistently deliver quality discussion, analysis, and humor from their unique perspectives. It’s clear they have a great respect for the show, in part due to the fact that they will give it some good ol’ tough love when it’s necessary to point out the shortcomings of entertainment media at the time. They’ve also fostered a really wonderful community!!

Not Posh SpiceThe best Buffy podcastThe girls are honest, funny and beautifully articulate. It’s a perfect blend of honoring Buffy’s legacy as a show while also holding it accountable for its missteps and datedness. While I think Buffy generally holds up, there are issues that are definitely worth highlighting and exploring, and the prophecy girls do just that. You can love something and also critique it, and this podcast is the epitome of that.

SnugglyradishThe Nostalgia is realI love this duo with they’re silly goofy but also very articulate. They reflect on how this show primed future generations and current media. I get a lot of giggles and a lot of fuzzy nostalgia feelings from this podcast. I look forward to it every single week. I will say this podcast is fun but it’s also for the intelligent listener that really wants to take a critical look at media from the 90s and compare it to what’s happening in the current climate.

TotallyTofuIt’s the best Buffy podcast on iTunes. Trust me.As a self proclaimed Buffy Super Fan I will tell you I’ve listened or sampled almost every Buffy podcast on iTunes. This one slays them all. 😉 Steph and Kara are unbelievable hosts! A fabulous mixture of funny, sassy, scholarly…the list goes on and on. If you’re looking for a wonderful podcast that will bring joy to your Thursday (new episodes drop on Thursday) give them a listen. You won’t regret it. Unless Xander is your favorite character, then maybe this isn’t the podcast for you. #XanderSlander #PraiseMoloch

KaShepA must listen for all Buffy fansWhether you’re a new fan looking to listen along every week or a long time fan, this podcast is great. It brings a very important perspective to a show that is over 20 years old. So often we just write old shows and their problematic themes off, or ignore them. Kara and Steph give you a perspective that points out issues that people maybe didn’t pay attention to in the past, but it’s still funny and still allows you to enjoy this amazing television show for all of the good, bad, Big Bads, and in between.

JLMayKCMOPerfect podcast - hits the ground runningI love rewatch podcasts! And I’ve never listened to one that was so perfect from the start! You can tell that Kara and Steph know what they are doing, had a vision for the pod, love the show, love each other, and love the listeners. Thank you for all your time and effort into giving us a quality Buffy rewatch podcast from jump. If I could, I’d give this podcast five by five!

Ivy StellalunaSuch a great podcast :)This podcast makes me so happy. It’s so soothing and the two women have the best insight about the show. I have always loved Buffy and listening to these two is such a great way to both zone out and also hone in and focus on something to decompress and relax. I’ve been having a kind of hard time and this podcast has really helped cheer me up and mellow me out as well. Also, I think it might be due to my attention span, but this is the first podcast I’ve listened to for more than one episode (lol). I watched Buffy a bunch when I was much younger and in my teenage years too so the nostalgia and calm that this podcast brings to me is similar to talking to friends about a common interest. Thanks to Kara and Steph for sharing 💗

manowanBuffy ObsessedWhen the show originally aired, I vaguely remember being intrigued after hearing about Willow coming out as lesbian and so I caught an episode here and there if I was in front of the TV. But I remember not being all that into the show since I really had no idea what was going on or who all the characters were. Fast forward 2 decades and I decide to give the show another try, so I decide to start at the point Michelle Trachtenberg appeared as I had just watched her in Gossip Girl and kinda wanted to see her previous work. So I watched seasons 5-7 and realized I really like this show and now I feel I need to go back to season 1 and watch all the way through… which I did and was so obsessed, that I’m currently rewatching again(all within the last few months). I now can’t get enough Buffy and could be my favorite series ever along with Sense8. So I’m totally here for this podcast! Can’t wait to catch up!

BespangeledEnjoyable podcastThe girls are interesting and insighful. As a long time Buffy fan, I really like this podcast.

CobaltChameleonMy Buffy binges were missing something!I use Buffy as my media version of comfort food. I acknowledge where it could be better, particularly as it ages, but there are still things I miss even after becoming a social justice-oriented therapist (keeping in mind that learning about and living in a way that supports equity is a life-long journey, not something really to achieve or accomplish and then stop). So imagine my delight and the amount of humbling (which is part of the delight) I experience listening to this podcast and considering things I have missed even after more than 20 views. I continue to enjoy BtVS for its nostalgia and for what it did for me when I was lonely and isolated as a young person. I think it helped me develop a level of emotional intelligence that I otherwise might not have. And now this podcast is facilitating more education and considerations that I find priceless. It would be silly not to mention how hilarious and fun the hosts are. Like I want to hang out with them. The jokes are top-notch. The viewpoints are inspiring. And while I will not say other Buffy podcasts are not good, worth investment, enjoyable, funny, etc., it is super refreshing that the hosts are not CIS het White men (acknowledging there may be other Buffy podcasts that are not hosted by CIS het White men that I just don’t know about). I recommend this podcast 100% to all viewers of Buffy and Angel.

Paper goodsBest Podcast Ever!!You guys are SO fun to listen to and have such interesting insight on this show, especially these earlier episodes! I too watched this show a while ago and have quite different memories (Xander was unfortunately my fav too). Hearing a modern perspective, especially now knowing how problematic Joss Whedon is, is so interesting and shows how different things were when the show was on. Thank you for pointing out the problematic aspects of the show, but still celebrating what it does well too. Since the show does have so many things that do not stand the test of time, I think it’d be really interesting to hear you guys maybe cast actors you think would be cast in a reboot if they chose to do one! Thank you for being so great and I can’t wait for y’all to continue on in the series!!
