This is one of my favorite podcasts but apparently it is not being updated.

Echoing other comments here. Please please stop with the accents. They are all so terrible, from several readers. It's so distracting. And I imagine offensive to the individuals. Just read the article, this is not Broadway.

One word Awful.

I love this podcast. The stories are well curated and provided a good slice of Chinese life, culture, and history. All of the readers are terrific…except Cliff Larsen. I’ve come to cringe every time he’s reading. It’s not his over annunciation that prompted me to write the review (irksome though it is) but it’s the voices he attempts to do when quoting someone in the article. They are so forced and irritating. His trying to emulate Nixon’s voice in a story a few months back was embarrassing. His attempt at a Norwegian accent in the recent article on over packaging was borderline offensive. And he even mispronounced Santorini in that article. I’ll continue listening to this podcast but please, less Cliff Larsen

Great content but weird voices from Kaiser when reading for most female talking heads + a really odd Russian impression for good measure

I absolutely love this, short, well written stories that you won’t get anywhere else. I listen to this with my morning coffee!

I recently started using audm, an app that lets you listen to long form journalism, and have thought about how great it would be if there were an aggregated feed of China journalism audio— so I was delighted when this new podcast floated across my twitter feed. The readers I’ve heard so far do a good job, and hard to go wrong with outlets like sixth tone, Caixin, and supChina. Looking forward to more— keep churning them out please!

Kaiser’s fan here (both for Tang Dynasty and Sinica). Started listen to this podcast and love it once Kaiser recommended it. Good long forms and good reading. Keep the good work. Thanks.
