Keekee ShaliquiNo one sees a show for the costumes?I generally enjoy this show, but I was quite disappointed by the latest two annual wrap up episodes and the lack of attention paid to the work of the costume teams. They acknowledge the scenic teams, but then actively put down costumes by stating that “no one sees a show for the costumes”. Then they express the pleasure with the tricks in Death Becomes Her which were almost exclusively costume related! Even in a show with minimal set (Sunset Blvd) the performers still have to wear clothes! Those of us who work in the theatrical costume industry have been fighting for years to be held in the same regard as our scenic collaborators, rather than being thought of as “women’s work” or “just clothes”. It would be nice to be acknowledged as a contribution to the “best of Broadway” with the actors, directors, and other designers, who are all our collaborators.

LaurenMK80My “Broadway podcast friends”That’s how I refer to Jeff and Richie. 😂 I always cue up their episodes on the ride home from a show. I love how real and candid they are, and how I almost always agree with them. I am not in the industry myself so I appreciate how they talk about nuanced pieces of a show that I wouldn’t otherwise notice. They have taught me so much about production and have really enhanced this passion of mine.

Pete from PrincetonBravoSo glad I finally discovered this podcast. Jeff & Richie really know their stuff. Their half hour format is fun, but some episodes I wish it was a 90 minute/no intermission!

marspowrI like itI only listen to the episodes where they review new shows but I enjoy those. Sometimes I feel that the show is a little too truncated in only half an hour and wish there was more time for discussion but I appreciate that they keep me updated on what new shows are playing on Broadway and off.

Momo886764An Enjoyable ListenRichie and Jeff’s dialogue is so natural and conversational that the thirty minutes flew by. Based on the first 3 episodes, it is clear that they are quite knowledgeable when it’s comes to the entertainment industry. My favorite episode so far was the Folklore review. I enjoyed that they both shared their expertise on the meaning behind the music, but also added their own personal touch by revealing their top songs from the album. This podcast is not only educational, but also enjoyable due to Richie and Jeff’s personalities being so inviting. Can’t wait to continue listening!!
