I have already been studying Spanish for years, but my first visit to DR left me all types of confused and questioning what I was taught lol… Then I found this podcast and I learned SO MUCH MORE than any of my college courses ever taught me! For my next visit, I surprised so many of the native Dominicans with my ability to understand and participate in the local lingos and phrase. I’m last to the Dominican Podcast gang, but I’m hoping this show continues for Season 4! I’m ready for MORE! 🥰🥰

My wife and I have friends in the DR and we are currently learning Spanish. My wife was listening to this podcast and I over heard it and I was instantly impressed. We started listening to the podcast and we were hooked! Such friendly voices and I love how we are learning how to speak like our Dominican friends. I recommend this podcast 100%! You won’t be disappointed!

This podcast is the perfect amount of spanish language education combined with culture and learning all the other aspects of what draws me to learn Spanish to begin with. It is like she read my mind and made a podcast answering questions. I love learning about the culture, dance and music, hearing from teachers who are from the countries that I long to visit and having a podcast that, especially during these times, allows me to escape to a happier place and learn spanish con salsa!!! Thank you for this podcast. I took Spanish in high school and you know how it goes... use it or loose it! I just started back studying with duolingo, but I need some practical practice. This podcast is perfect. On a side note, the host sounds like Chantal from TLC’s 90 Day Finance/Family Chantal. Weird!

I have been studying Spanish for a while but the “usual” methods were boring me to tears. Plus I wanted to learn a dialect and explore a culture that I am already excited to learn more about. Viola! Dominican Spanish 101 hits the scene and I am all in!

My partner’s family hails from DR. I have already begun my journey to learn Spanish in hopes to one day be able to speak with them and be able to fit in during trips to the island but I have to admit...I really am struggling to keep up or even understand what his family is saying sometimes. I always see Mexican or Spain or even Argentinian specific Spanish but have never been able to find a place that tailors to this specific Spanish speaking island. Tamara, I feel like you answered my prayers with this! I can’t tell you how excited it made me feel to tell his mother “tamo cloro” and her total shock to hear me say it. This is my new weekly podcast fix!!

I’m Dominican who unfortunately never learned Spanish during my childhood. Now that I’m an adult and wanted to finally connect to my culture, finding a Spanish learning program that didn’t make me sound super proper was IMPOSSIBLE. A lot of the Spanish learning programs didn’t cater to the Dominican Spanish language/culture, only to traditional Spanish(Spain). I’m beyond excited and grateful to find this podcast. Subscribed and looking forward to the future episodes!

Although I studied Spanish in high school, I never really began to ‘get it’ until I started studying on my own. After rediscovering my love for the language I found Tamara’s Spanish Con Salsa podcast and it’s been a major help growing my confidence when it comes to speaking and figuring out new ways to learn. Now that I’ve found Dominican Spanish 101 I’m hooked! I’ve always loved the Dominican dialect but never thought that I’d be able to pick it up, but after one episode I already have some new greetings to try out and I can’t wait to learn more! Definitely check out the podcast, you won’t regret it!

I just started learning Spanish and happen to fall in love with a Dominican accent. I was searching for a Dominican podcast and Dominican Spanish 101 was suggested for me. The first episode was great, now I can finally understand the meaning of phrases that I hear Dominican say very often. For example KLK which is my favorite.

I’m looking forward to the launch of this podcast. Dominican Spanish stumps me every time. I want to stop giving the blank stare. I know this will be an awesome podcast.
