    Disappointed
I love MM but I’m really disappointed the first episode back after this summer is about 9/11. 9/11 is already really sad. I don’t know why the first episode had to have the same guest as before retelling a horrific event. Disappointed. She should have at least released one happy episode and then the 9/11 one. Waited all summer for a new episode.

    Lacks focus
My goodness- please create an outline of talking points. Too much random chatter, with speakers talking over each other and interrupting. Pick a theme and address it with clear suggestions and advice.

Take what you like leave what you don’t …
For just over 3 years I have followed Matchmaker Maria - I discovered her thru the UUp podcast in 2021 - and have been in a relationship for 2yrs 9months: coincidence? Maybe… but either way I enjoy her unique perspective on dating/relationships & love shared thru the podcast & social media. 💕 If you don’t like her viewpoints and advice find another podcast!!! There’s lots. ✨

    Great advice and convos
Love love matchmaker Maria’s advice and the variety of guests she has on - the show is even better since she’s been recording in a studio and I enjoy watching it on YouTube !

The BEST pod for relationship insights and advice
Maria is like no other- 4th generation matchmaker, warm, smart, very good at matching folks…but she’s also HILARIOUS and progressive and talks about equity and loves elevating queer love. She knows love and dating better than almost everyone and brings on the BEST folks to get into it. SO GOOD.

    Steamrolls Guests
UPDATE: I left my original review maybe 3 years ago and nothing has changed. Maria had a super interesting guest on today - anxious attachment guy, Chris. Yet we barely got to hear anything he had to say because Maria didn’t shut up the entire episode. Maria, we are begging you, please let your guests speak. If you are unable to do that, stop having guests. ORIGINAL: I think Maria has some great advice, but she steamrolls her guests and seems to always think she is right. She comes off as rude and condescending but tries to play it off as straight forward. You can give tough love and harsh advice without making listeners feel stupid.

Great guests but host only talks about herself
The host brings every topic back to herself and talks about the same things- her kids, how she wasn’t attracted to her husband and how much her MIL hates her. Maria has great guests but the interviews are a huge flop. It’s a missed opportunity to learn something new from a professional / author / coach and instead Maria goes on these tangents sharing never ending stories about her past. The entire episode is focused more on her than the guest. Isn’t the point of an interview to learn from the guest? If you want to talk about yourself maybe add some more solo episodes? Unsubscribing from this pod!

I’ve been a long time MMM follower - great content and thought provoking advice. I love the variety of guests she has on the show.

    Not good
Terrible dating advice, rude and intrusive to guests

    Fav dating podcast!
I first heard of Matchmaker Maria on GGE a few years ago and have been following ever since. She’s become my favorite dating advice expert ever since. The advice is very practical, thoughtful and effective. I love the guests of the pod, but esp Louie

    Insta advice is better
I like Marias advice on Insta but on the podcast sometimes she seems to be talking women into sticking with men they clearly aren’t into or their gut is giving them strong signals. Latest guest Melanie - I know it’s not cool to criticize vocal fry but I couldn’t stay with this. If you’re going to be using for voice for work, invest in how you sound.

Omg Maria- Let the guest speak!
Generally enjoy this podcast, the guests and the info within it but why does Maria keep interrupting her guests? It’s really been grating on me lately. She’s on every week, but her guests have a wealth of info that feels minimized with Maria’s interjections : (

    Love this podcast!
As a 51-year-old who is navigating the dating apps this podcast is a necessity! Love Maria and her wisdom!

Stop interrupting or do a solo podcast
I love the dating advice. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don’t but that’s how it is and everyone is different. My biggest issue is the interruptions. You’ve interrupted literally every guest and sometimes the interruptions move the discussion to another direction while we wanted the guest to continue on the topic they touched on. If that’s not something you can do, no shame in that. I think you’ll do great with a solo podcast!!!

    Stop Interrupting
Please stop interrupting your guests Maria. When you do it adds nothing to the conversation and often sounds tone deaf.

    Erica S - Episode
The episode with Erica is gold! Everyone dating should listen to this!

    Great conversations!
I enjoy Maria’s ability to share her advice and opinions, while creating space for guests and collaborators to contribute. Love MM’s straightforward delivery!

    Love her!
MM is always a good time and I learn so much from her and her guests! From the green dress theory to Stanley Tucci to much much more, she has expanded my thinking when it comes to dating and other aspects of life.

    Learned so much!
Maria is generous and kind, but always tells it like it is. I have learned so much from her and her guests. She’s also super entertaining and fun. Such a favorite!

    Best podcast, best host
Maria is the best! She’s an amazing host, she invites such wonderful and knowledgeable guests on, and she asks all the right questions that she knows her listeners need the answers to.

Every single human who wants or is in a relationship, tune in to this!
Fabulous podcast. An excellent resource for skills, tips, and recommendations for how to find a compatible partner, how to maintain a successful relationship, and much more. Maria and all of her guests bring varying expert perspectives on lots of topics. Highly recommend!

    Love her!
I love Maria! She’s fun to listen to, and her advice rings so true.

    Love her dating advice
Love her dating advice and long time listener, but feel the episodes have gotten too political lately. I actually agree with her politics, but I want to listen to dating advice, not political propaganda. Would give 5 stars if it weren’t for that. Love Maria and her bluntness!

    Great content, poor flow
I love Maria and all her wisdom and curiosity. This podcast is a great showcase of all the things we love about her! I wish, wish, wish that she would be more mindful of not interrupting her guests. There are so many moments in these episodes where I was on the edge of my seat to hear what her guest said next only for them to be cut off mid sentence by Maria. I will keep listening loyally though even if I cringe occasionally. Thank you for your great work!

    Not for everyone
To be fair, I only listened to one episode, Hoteline Edition: Thanksgiving Special with Louie Felix. I came across this podcast and I enjoy listening to dating podcasts and this was a recommended one. The content itself was ok, until it got to a caller who was concerned as she voted differently than a guy she was having sex with. The caller herself seemed genuine and like she was trying to honor her personal beliefs. The hosts, however, made multiple snarky comments about Republicans and how they only care about themselves and other stereotypical comments made towards Republicans. I found that off putting-yes, if politics come up, then it’s worth discussing. However I would have appreciated a more balanced approach and more focused on the caller honoring her personal convictions than negative comments toward a certain political party. This podcast wasn’t for me, but could be for you!

Insulting and harmful to Women’s Health
The most recent episode was REALLY BAD. For this politician to say that woman should be ok with dating someone who says “i would hope a woman wouldn’t make that choice” and for Maria not to challenge him on it is anti-feminist and harmful to the pro-life movement. You don’t know what you would do or want until you are in that situation, and no matter what the circumstances, it’s about women’s health. medical and physical. Finally, a man will NEVER understand. What an idiot. This completely changed my view of Maria and I will no longer be listening.

    Word of caution
Just saying… I wouldn’t be in the happiest most stable relationship of my life if I were to have take her advice. Give yourself the grace she does not give. People aren’t perfect and neither are relationships. Good luck!

    Love the podcast
I love this podcast but the audio volume difference between Maria and her guests make a lot of episodes too difficult to listen to.

Incredible words of wisdom and dating advice
I just wanted to quickly say thank you for all your words of wisdom. I recently started dating a guy and was following your 12 date rule, we only made it to 9. But on Monday night he asked me to be his girlfriend and I’m super happy! Your podcasts and IG posts have been so helpful in navigating this dating world. Thank you for all your valuable insight, advice and wisdom! 💗

    So helpful
Maria and her guests give the BEST advice. Listen to them and you’ll be happier for it.

    Great podcast
So much fun to listen to and sooo much valuable knowledge you can apply to your own dating life.

    Lost me
The past year had been awful for this podcast. She’s demeaning and belittling to the women that call in with questions. That’s not tough love, she really thinks she is better than them. She doesn’t give her guests a chance to speak. This is terrible
  • foxyroxy812
    Volume discrepancies
Absolutely love the pod and your straightforward perspective! I have noticed on quite a few episodes that the volume on your (Maria’s) sound is very low compared to your guests or the ads so I have to raise up my volume to hear Maria speaking and then get blown away by the intensity of the latter two!

    Paul Carrick Brunson
Why was this episode deleted? Maybe because you said, as it related to the UK caste, that Paul would be at the bottom? That was wow for me.

    Great dating + relationship tips
Maria is smart practical compassionate and funny. She knows her stuff!!

    Meh dating advice Maria
I don’t doubt Maria has tremendous matchmaking skills and success. When it comes to what dating experts say, it’s more so chew the meat and spit out the bones. Not everything applies to everyone. At time when interviewing guests she interrupts and brings herself into the equation a lot…talking about her POV which can be helpful at times, but takes away from the subject the guest is speaking about. She did at one point get into it about her mom being sick which would have nothing to do with the topic, but clearly was emotional about it. A person asked a question one episode of where to meet rich men. This is certainly not Marias expertise, the listener is better off listening to someone like Patti Stanger about where to meet rich men. Maria didn’t give her a clear cut answer with methods or a plan per say in meeting rich men. Then again it isn’t her expertise. She just said go where they are, but there’s more to it than that per Pattis advice if you want to look that up. I don’t agree with taking what you get when it comes to dating. If you have a list that goes to the floor and standards that go through the roof- GOOD! Keep them high and work on yourself and it’s possible to meet a rich, lovable, honest, 6 foot tall man who will love you. Maria gives off the impression that these are tall orders and that one should be more realistic, when in reality the skies the limit to what you want.

    Great Podcast
Love this podcast! Maria offers helpful practical advice for real life dating situations. I found her on IG months ago (where she posts great dating advice) and just started listening to the podcast- starting with the grief and caregiving episode, which really resonated with me. Will definitely keep listening and recommending!

I enjoy listening to Maria’s Matchmaker podcast
If I have a critical comment about this podacast, it’s that I wish the podcast was at least an hour or more. I think Maria gives excellent advice grounded in reality. I like hearing the real stories about people who are trying to find a serious relationship. These last years have been difficult and trying to date during Covid were nearly impossible to negotiate. Maria is the voice of reason. If someone is critical of this podcast, it’s because they don’t really want to hear the truth. If you’re serious about a real connection with another person, do yourself a favor and really listen to what she says.

Helped me see my relationship in a new light
I listened to the episode with Marlo Thomas and her question to her husband - when you do x, what is your message to me? - blew me away. I love how it’s grounded in reciprocity and curiosity. This is definitely a show that I want to keep in my world as I grow my relationship with my partner and myself.

    Fantastic, topical podcast
I’ve learned so much from listening to Maria’s podcast— she has a 360 approach to dating and doesn’t shy away from important conversations like finances, compromise, dealing with distance, and any of the other challenges you come across when dating/ finding your mate. So grateful to have this resource!!!

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this podcast! It’s almost as though Maria knows exactly what I need to hear every time I tune in 😅 Maria always brings on excellent guests with great insights about all facets of relationships

    Funny, relatable, no punches pulled!
Maria’s anecdotes and relevant guests offer mature, realistic, and fun advice for navigating the modern dating climate. Ask a Matchmaker QA always tends to answer the questions I was too afraid to ask or already knew the answer to (but wouldn’t admit to myself) while earning a chuckle.

    Great advice!
Maria has always been brutally honest, respectful and constructive when giving singles advice. She is also truly one of the most ethical matchmakers I know. I love her podcast snd I encourage everyone listening to share this podcast with all of your single friends!

    Narcissist Ex
The episode started in an excellent fashion with an important subject. When it veered off into politics you lost my attention and more importantly I lost the opportunity for good advice.

The best, real, applicable, digestible advice! She’s the best.

Great topics, not always the best interviews
I love the relationship topics that are brought to the table in this podcast. I think they’re interesting, complex and very relatable. I find myself a bit turned off, however, when Maria dominates the interview with her take and personal experiences on the matter. More often than not, we are hearing more about Maria’s point of view rather than the guest’s expertise and experience on the subject matter. I believe the conversations would be more interesting with balanced input from Maria and her guest.
