    focus on the soccer
I love soccer and your show. But PLEASE, keep it about the soccer - not politics! You have republicans listening and you are ignoring their truths. Soccer is for everyone! Not just progressive democrats.
  • flangeslammer
like the athletic itself, they’ve just thrown up their hands rather than covering the NWSL
it’s just like, they’ve given up on this as a product. Linehan is unparalleled in her reporting track record but covering a league that plays soccer week in and week out over the course of a season? Apparently not

    soccer masterclass
Tamerra and Meg’s perspective on the beautiful game is incredible. they always bring cutting angles, thoughtful discussion and brilliant guests to the world of international soccer and the NWSL. no better way to follow the Olympic tournament than with this podcast. Steph has been a great addition for those special episodes.

    New love
I don't write many reviews for podcasts but I'm new here and instantly loved the hosts' rapport. Thank you for this amazing content & perspectives!

    Soccer starter pack
This should be in the starter pack for every soccer fan, it is essential. The coverage is knowledgeable, thoughtful, fresh, and fun. I’ve been listening to full-time for years, the addition of Tamara has added an additional layer to an already great pod and made it excellent. The questions they ask aren’t the same fodder I get on my other soccer pods. While the debate was slightly chaotic I appreciated the variation in format. Tamara and Meg are a dynamic duo with coverage you won’t get anywhere else.

I love the new Full Time
Full Time was already essential listening, but the new version brings on Tamerra Griffin, who is a really fantastic host. I’m loving the new FT

    America’s Cool Aunt
America’s cool Aunt is back on the podwaves. With so much happening in women’s soccer right now, it’s a delight to have Meg’s calm and cool insights back in podcast form. Whether you’re a diehard NWSL or USWNT fan or just getting into soccer this show is for YOU. P.S. If you’re a subscriber to The Athletic you can listen to the show ad free.

Meg and Tamerra are important voices in WoSo
Updating my review 5/24/24: The show is back, it’s excellent, and Tamerra Griffin is an impressive and wonderful addition to the show. Tamerra and Meg’s rapport is great —their back and forth is really engaging. Meg’s journalism is indisputably good—she’s a reliable and interesting source for all things women’s soccer. The pleasant surprise is how good she is as a podcast host even just an episode in. I look forward to tuning in for more!

    Great Show - Episode Mistake?
Love this show! Avid listener. But the latest episode is a totally different story than the description on it? I thought it was supposed to be them on the ground in AUS talking about World Cup predictions but it’s a report on coaching abuse. Is this a mistake?
  • jbing512
    Such a great show, but… (6/28)
Meg and Steph are brilliant as always! Jeff had a good analysis of the roster, but I could hardly listen with his interruptions, talking over the hosts and negative vibes.

So grateful for this podcast. Meg and Steph are so thoughtful and intelligent and I honestly just wish they would drop more episodes

    objectivity is needed
I used to listen to this pod religiously when it first dropped. I subscribed to the Athletic, because I wanted to support women’s soccer media coverage. Well, I canceled my subscription earlier this year and I still think that was the right decision. I really want to like this pod, but there’s just so much bias. Meg and Steph are supposed to be journalists, but both lack the ability to separate their personal fandom from their work. Disappointing.

    Finally
Disappointed in it not seeing a pod cast when the USWNT loses 3 straight games. Guess we see one when they win. This squad has serious competition coming this summer and Carli Was right.

    Hard Listen
I really want this to be a good pod but it just struggles to find form and consistency. To be honest, Linehan and Steph Yang are excellent journalists and I’ve heard them be outstanding as guests on other podcasts. WoSo seems to have a “social” bubble (Twittersphere, etc) and often times this show is reactions to however Twitter handled the news and inside banter, both of little value to me. Like ‘em both, just not how they do this show. The show needs a producer for some direction it seems.

Great show and excellent idea. I contributed before I finished the episode. Thank you Meg. I hope you will keep us apprised of fund raising successes over the next few weeks.

    More substance please
I really want to like this show by women reporters covering women’s soccer, but often the conversation has no real substance. They don’t actually tell us the facts of whatever development they are discussing; instead they skip straight into vague meta-commentary. It’s unsatisfying. It’s like I have to read all the actual news before I listen to follow the conversation, but isn’t the point of the podcast to help those of us who don’t have time to read all the news but still want to stay up to date?
  • Sul4ever
    Informative but…
These two woman are always prepared, they know their soccer. They do their research. But…for two highly educated individuals for the love of God please stop saying “like” every other word when you speak!!!! 4/5 stars just for that.

    Meg is onside
I appreciate all their hard work to bring us the info

    What about the soccer?
My goodness, I was hoping for a podcast about soccer- each week I think maybe this time. Nope, only politics, how bad the refs are, how bad the owners are, how bad the world is. I want to know what games were awesome and why, who under performed, who knocked it out of the park, who is underrated, who is overrated and yes I want names. I want hosts who aren's afraid, and I want host to tell me about the soccer and share in the joy of watching women play it and then tell me about what the NWSL could do better

    Great soccer pod!
So grateful for this podcast keeping me in the loop of all news women’s soccer. Their Olympics coverage was particularly great and I just trust Meg and her reporting so much. If you’re a soccer fan this is for you!

    Not going to listen anymore
I love the whole idea of Meg Linehan. I can’t deal with the ubiquitous smirk in her voice, her constant use of the term “space,” and the fact she doesn’t act as though the audience for women’s soccer extends well beyond Twitter and other social media outlets. Added comment. Had to stop listening to the popping from Portland episode. Linehan objects to a defense contractor sponsoring the Washington Spirit because it is not in her mind on message for the Cause NWSL is supposed to be spear heading. Her podcast is sponsored by a betting website. Where does that fit in. I signed up for the Athletic because of Meg. And now l am canceling for the same reason.

    The best soccer scoop!
Meg always has the best scoop on everything soccer! I love listening to her and getting the hot takes.

It should be called soccer therapy
Not only is this podcast a good way to catch-up with the latest USWNT and NWSL news, Meg (and often Steph) say exactly what we all need to hear, especially post these Olympics matches.
  • Vicky524
Hooray for a women’s soccer podcast
I enjoy listening to Meg’s podcast about the USWNT, especially during Olympic season with Steph. I don’t have friends who watch soccer so this podcast IS my soccer-loving friend!
  • cz_4
    Fantastic women’s soccer coverage!
Any podcast that talks about Becky Sauerbrunn videos is automatically my new favorite podcast

    Great episode about sports data
Really enjoyed this interview! I was part of the research and I was really happy to share my data. Also just a point Meg, you mentioned about being a Red Sox fan forever, that is part of your culture because your hometown; but for a lot of NWSL fans we don’t have a team in town and I think that makes easy to follow all the teams and enjoy the league without a clear favorite. But I do want a team in my town, I want to be a member, buy every merchandise that they have, just like I did with the Oakland Roots. Again great episode

    Essential
This is THE podcast to listen to for all things women’s soccer. Extremely insightful and beginner friendly. Even the in-depth analysis that went above my head the first few episodes makes a total sense now. Highly recommend.

    Diversity
Generally love the podcast and appreciate all your work in this space. Was disappointing to not get a mention of the lack of diversity and opportunity presented to woc on the team. All of the women that were cut were black women essentially, which unfortunately was not a surprise. Cook, Purce, Williams, Macario, Sophia Smith, Krueger etc. Was hoping with vlatko coming in there would be a changing of the guard, but it’s more of the same. Using seniority as a basis to pick the team is just a cover to keep the status quo (whiteness). If using nwsl form isn’t a main factor in picking the team then how are new players (read black and brown) supposed to join the setup. This is a crystal dunn situation all over again. Lynn Williams is the nwsl all time assist leader but apparently she has pOoR eNd pRoDuCt, leroux is leading the nwsl in goals but can’t get a look in while Carli Lloyd stinks it up and has 0 goals this year but gets chosen because ppl are afraid of her. Picking players who consistently perform poorly or are injured comes across to a certain demographic of the woso fan base a specific way. I’m looking forward to the day when we can challenge some things in woso and have less toxic positivity, it only protects the status quo. Was hoping this would be challenged more but I guess I will just wait for the diaspora United pod for this kind of discussion. Justice delayed is justice denied.

    Love it!
Love Meg’s commentary and perspective on woso! Her insight helps me, a relative woso newbie, have a greater understanding of the context surrounding events in the woso world on and off the pitch.

    Jason
My name is Jason and I live in San Jose Ca. I’ve often struggled to find information on women’s soccer. I finally started finding places to read about and watch women’s soccer. The Kicking Back podcast introduced me to Meg and I’ve really enjoyed her podcast. I’ve enjoyed the wide breadth of guests. I’m listening from the beginning and I just got to the episode with the two reporters that looked into how clubs act and what they say they support and what the owners donate to. That was a very interesting episode!!! This podcast is full of laughs and good stories and great info. I’ve been following womens pro soccer since the WUSA! I’ve enjoyed your stories of that league and the stories of the NWSL too.

    My favorite sports podcast!
Meg is humble, sharp and fun. And gets the best out of her guests. Great insight into the women’s game!

Great podcast on women’s football (and more)
This is the best podcast I have found for women’s football. Meg is great and she has interesting guests on. Also, she’s willing to discuss the societal implications of sports.
  • Horse fan forever
Very best NWSL content out there
Meg is incredibly knowledgeable about the NWSL and has guests who are also all incredible. She always has the most interesting topics and insights. It’s 100% the best NWSL podcast out there. ETA: This is the only podcast that I have listened to every single episode. It’s such a gem in the woso world!

    Thank you for existing
So happy to have found this podcast! For those of us who are new to soccer, it might be nice to give a bit more background on each news topic before you dive in :) Thanks again for helping me learn more about the world of women’s soccer!

    Must listen WoSo podcast!!
Full Time is one of a few absolute must-listen US based podcasts for WoSo fans. Great mix of USWNT, NWSL and now WSL content. Even ravenous/obsessed WoSo supporters like me will learn something in every episode. Listener mailbag episodes are super fun, as are the ones with Steph Yang (possible permanent cohost??). Do yourself a favor and subscribe to The Athletic so you can get your fill of Meg’s great writing. Really appreciate the time and effort Meg devotes to bring in diverse voices along with discussion of social justice issues as they relate to soccer.
  • Persistent Infringement Pod
    Great podcast
One of my favorite podcasts. I want to learn about the NWSL and Meg covers it with respect. I feel like I have learned so much just in the last few episodes! Can’t wait for the season to start!

    Feel More Smart about Soccer
Listening to Meg break down womens soccer makes feel smarter. She manages to maintain a balance of respect for the listener’s knowledge and providing context to give you another layer to consider. The episodes are edited in way where they hit that magic spot between not too short and not too long. I guess what I’m saying is that Full Time is the Goldilocks of soccer podcasts

All things soccer, soccer that women play. Thank you Meg!

    Meg is fantastic, as always
If you follow her writing on The Athletic or her Twitter, you know the deal — she’s the most trusted journalist in women’s soccer for a reason. She’s smart, serious, enthusiastic, empathetic, and fun to listen to. Highly recommend this podcast.

    A more knowledgeable soccer fan
Listening to Full Time has made me a much more knowledgeable soccer fan, not just a women’s soccer fan. Meg is a great interviewer and really gets her guests to open up. Is essential for any USMNT and NWSL fan, especially for those looking to learn more about women’s soccer in the United States.

    Insightful, interesting, awesome coverage
Super insightful and fun to listen to - Meg manages to be succinct while still going in depth on interesting stuff that we all care about as women’s soccer fans. Something I look forward to each week. Thanks Meg!

    The ultimate woso pod
To Meg and the Full Time team, thank you for being the podcast I didn’t know I needed. Growing up, I never understood why I wasn’t interested in women’s pro soccer like the NBA or NFL despite the fact that the sport was my first love. Well, I’ve now realized that it was because there was not adequate (if any?) coverage of women’s pro soccer. Unfortunately, my 8-year-old self was never going to understand this, but fortunately, the game has grown in the last 12+ years. Thanks Meg for being there from the beginning. And thanks to The Athletic for supporting this work. It has been a source of light as my own senior college season was cancelled this fall. All the best to Meg and the team, believe the best is yet to come for all of you. First though, let’s get to those 500 reviews 😎 Cayla

    Thankful
The best podcast anybody looking to follow women’s soccer in the United States. With such limited (but growing) coverage of women’s soccer the discussions on this pod help fans understand what’s going on with the NWSL, USWNT and beyond. Thank you Meg, and The Athletic for proving this pod for fans who may not have the time to search the internet to corral this content from multiple sources/social media!

If only this was a thing 25 years ago...
This is the kind of in-depth coverage that I only dreamed about as a women's soccer obsessed child. If this podcast was around in the 90s my life might have taken a very different path, but alas Meg is here now to keep us well informed, well connected, and well versed in all the (professional) gossip in the WoSo world. Thank you for making my 1995 year-old self so happy with all of this amazing content!
  • TBen1809
Fantastic podcast for fans new to the women’s game!
    Informative, light hearted, & fun

Knowledgeable and content rich WoSo host
Fantastic podcast. Meg is so well connected in the soccer world that her guests have consistently been great. Her tribute to Darryl Grove (RIP ❤️) was poignant and spot on; TSS has included women’s soccer consistently over time and Darryl and Taylor’s interest and enthusiasm was rewarding. Especially to all of us long suffering Boston Breakers fans. Loved the Ann Odong interview too. Go, Meg!
  • Steph__18
    My emotional support pod
Thank you for making this podcast. It truly brings me such joy to hear people talk so passionately about this sport. The NWSL is so chaotic but we love it nonetheless! Also just subscribed to the Athletic for more amazing coverage of woso!
