Some of the Manga covered in this show may not have done well commercially, but this show is definitely a success. I listened to the episode featuring Goeff Thew & as a avid fan of Mother's Basement, I think David & Jordan do a great job of discussing Look Back with him. They all have a great energy about them & it's clear they all enjoy recording the show. As someone who is just now getting more into manga, after being an Anime fan for years, I'll definitely be using this podcast to help me in my search for more manga to read.

This is one of those ideas that is so smart you think there must be a million like it. But there is only one Shonen Flop. Dave and Jordan make it feel like you're hanging out with your friends and their insight is amazing. I don't even read manga and I love the show.

Interesting and unique premise that leads to quality discussion!

I downloaded an episode just to see what this podcast was about and had to keep downloading because it was such addictive fun. The guys know their subject and give great analysis of each release they review. If you want to know which flop to try and which to avoid, they will tell you. Definitely earns their E tag though if that is something that you look out for.

A delightful journey into a genre I am completely unfamiliar with. These two make it not only fun but enjoyable to come back to. This show is the epitome of what it means to step out of your comfort zone and try something new to listen to. True enjoyment!

I could not stop laughing through the first episode and I barely knew what they were talking about. Only because I am super familiar with the older and some newer manga stories as I am just coming into it. I was glad to find all the episodes feature this same type of hilarious banter but also great story telling and reviewing that had me ready to read Chainsaw Man as soon as I was done. I truly enjoyed this and enjoy listening to the guys and their points on different stories. Give it listen if you’re a die hard manga fan or if you’re a newbie and are wanting to get into the stories. You’ll get some quality recommendations! PS if you like really good artists, this is also a great place to hear about those artists.

As someone who loves digging into cancelled manga and why they did or didn’t work, I appreciate Shonen Flop for taking advantage of this particular niche! Especially since as fun as it is to talk about manga in general, there’s usually not as much spotlight on the commercial failures that pop into existence. I also think its interesting how they sometimes have guests on who don’t normally read manga or are familiar with its creation that makes for an interesting perspective to have on the show. The series they read may be flops, but the podcast sure isn’t! Also, read Chainsaw Man.

This was terrific. The hosts do great reviewing a flopped series by balancing they’re view on why it failed with the positive things the manga had going for it. Really well done. These guys are great fun and have a blast talking about an art form they love. You should check them out by listening, rating and subscribing.

As someone who didn’t grow up reading manga, I wasn’t sure if I would connect with this podcast, but boy was I wrong! These folks do a great job making the stories accessible to those of us who aren’t that familiar with the world of manga, and I love their chemistry together. I found myself laughing hysterically, and I think they have great insight on what makes a good story. Even if manga isn’t your thing, I promise you will still be entertained. Check them out!! And despite Shonen Flop’s focus on those series that may not have hit those lofty heights, their analysis is still spot on, giving listeners more than just a rundown of where a series might have off the rails but where readers still might find enjoyment in checking it out for themselves!

As a lifelong manga fan, I must say this show was fantastic to stumble across. I’ve had such a fun time checking in to listen to these awesome hosts talk about manga in cool, unique ways. Good voices for recording, easy to listen to. Give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed!

How can a podcast be both fun and informative? Well the answer is because the hosts David and Jordan are AMAZING! Mangas that have been canceled come back to life thanks to this great podcast. Also, that theme song stays with you forever. C’mon, I know you’re humming it right now. Definitely recommend!!

David and Jordan are funny and informative; their conversations about shounen manga are honest critiques and praises. I learned so much about different shounen manga that I had no idea even existed. Definitely a podcast to listen to for anime and manga fans!

Even though I've never really gotten into Manga, I still appreciated this show! The hosts were excellent with each other, and the guest got along as they broke down a short-lived series (Zipman). Even though this show is about manga that flopped, there is non found in this GREAT pod. I have only listened to the first episode and I’m already hooked! If you are looking to improve your writing skills or just listen to two great guys talk about manga then you NEED to give them a listen!!!

These guys really know their stuff and I love their honest takes on these flops. I think my favorite is when they share what they would have liked to see had these manga's continued. The mini episodes are a great addition to the pod. Love it!

The chemistry between the hosts is apparent from the very opening of the episode and really amplifies their love of the material. Very informative podcast and extremely well produced. Give it a listen! You WILL not be disappointed.

While i was listening to the Zipman episode you automatically can see that David and Jordan have a really good chemistry with each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this listen and definitely will continue to listen. When you can have fun while learning about manga it is ultimately a podcast you can’t go wrong with!

While I don't know anything about Manga, Anime, or the hyper-specific corner of the pop-culture landscape that Shonen Flop covers, I do love listening to them. For me the show isn't really about the thing they are discussing but the people having the conversation.

There is so much content out there, it's impossible to get through it all. I love how these guys cover so much stuff, and they do it in a super fun way that I love listening to! Awesome podcast about a super cool topic and a premise with tons of content to choose from!

David and Jordan have a well developed rapport and their passion for manga is apparent throughout all their episodes! They offer a refreshing and often hilarious dialogue which I very much enjoy! Fantastic! Definitely NOT a flop!

Absolutely love deep dive podcasts and they really do have a variety of content so there’s something for everyone and you’ll def find a manga to get into if you haven’t yet!

I think this show has some very good ideas, and it’s really nice to have a spotlight shown onto Shonen Jump projects that never took off. The format is tight and the hosts play off each other very well. I’m happy to have added this to my show rotation!

As someone who doesn’t know much about Anime , Manga or any of those things I found this podcast very helpful and informative. I like the small little introductory episodes followed by the longer more in-depth episodes it gives a good contrast. Thank you and I will keep listening and learning!

Great chemistry, entertaining show and some really interesting guests too. And who can resist their infectious intro song? I’m truly much more comfortable venturing into shonen themed comics without feeling like a dinosaur. Thanks for making this topic both alluring and playful. I am going to be super honest here, I’m not a fan of manga or anime…BUT with that these guys kept me interested! I enjoyed what I listened to even when I had no idea what they were talking about. So - I imagine if I’m not into the topic and I enjoyed the podcast, you will be a big fan!

The podcast premise of reviewing anime shows that flopped is a very unique one and one I haven’t heard before. This topic really made me want to listen. When I listened. I love the chemistry between the crew and their knowledge of anime.

As somebody that only casually knows manga, these guys take the time to explain ideas, tropes, and what’s good or bad about each individual series. You definitely don’t wanna miss this podcast as the chemistry between the hosts really shines. And they might not have intended this, but I want to read high school Family just because of how they’re talking about it!
