The Compulsive Storyteller with Gregg LeFevre

122

A podcast of short personal stories by visual artist and lifelong storyteller Gregg LeFevre. Gregg's life has always been about telling stories including his public art works all over America that tell the forgotten stories of small towns and big cities. The stories he tells on the podcast are more personal. In each episode he brings you an offbeat story or two from his life, in under 20 minutes. Season two features stories about him starting a landslide in Big Sur, finding himself on the receiving end of police brutality, and his experiences with the lighter side of Buddhist meditation.

    Me Too - your mother
Thank you for sharing the story of your mother; she sounds like someone like me — a female not defined by her gender wanting to learn and do all kinds of things. I am several years younger than you and always wanted to be challenged and do the unexpected. Being a small female with only several years of college, I was always under-estimated. I would have loved getting to meet her! Learned about your podcast from Scott Johnson’s website and your “mountain climbing” experience in Las Vegas! Sorry to burst your bubble, but, yes, there is a God and He is not finished with you yet. Best wishes to you, Gregg.

    Excellent stories!
This podcast is sometimes deeply moving and always interesting.

Listened to the first two stories.
Cannot listen to more as his voice remains pretty flat throughout. This same tone throughout detracts from the presentation.

    What a great podcast!
Gregg LeFevre’s podcast has become a great change of pace in my library. From his stories about do-it-yourself projects that go wrong to the story about his mother as a pilot during WWII and what she endured I have found every one enjoyable. Highly recommend you give him a chance, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

    Outstanding story telling
As his little sister, I can tell you Gregg’s stories are real. Poignantly told, they are sources of sad and funny life lessons. It’s lovely to hear my brother’s voice bring back to life old family experiences even though I barely remember some of them, being 10 years younger than Gregg. We grew up with our father’s allegorical tales of Willie the Whale. Special thanks for documenting, Me Too Mom. I love how open and vulnerable you allow yourself to be. I have her WASP dairy from WWII. I think the plane she was landing was a B-38. Thanks again Gregg. Keep more stories coming.

I’ve always enjoyed a good story
But I enjoy it even more… when it’s well told. Gregg here, immerses you in the craft of storytelling. I instantly felt fascinated by the humor, vulnerability and honesty of his life chronicles. I am fond of learning from other people’s experiences, so I find this podcast easy to connect with and extremely entertaining.

    Moving stories
These stories dance from wickedly witty to tragically sad. Although - or because - they tell the very personal, they do what all great stories do: reflect on human nature and touch something in the listener. The production is enhanced by music with a precise touch. I look forward to more.
