Second Serve Podcast is the only tennis podcast created exclusively for adult recreational players by everyday tennis players. We are passionate about the game and our episodes are geared towards adults playing a sport in the later years of life (hence, the name “Second Serve”). This podcast discusses everything related to rec tennis. Topics include the following: advice for beginners; funny and crazy situations that happen on the court; the rules of adult tennis; and how it feels being an adult and getting your feelings hurt when you are not played in an important match. We know how it feels!

Great For Recreational Players!

I’ve been listening to Carolyn and Erin for a few years now. Their podcast is absolutely refreshing. They address so many issues, problems and even the humorous side of recreational tennis. I enjoy their humbleness about their own tennis and the guests that they bring in as well. They are easy to listen to and find the topics interesting and informative. Keep up the great work ladies!

Relatable Tennis Talk

This podcast is so delightful! I’ve been playing tennis for 3 years (started as a 30 something) and it’s my favorite activity! I appreciate that the hosts share tips about how to improve your tennis game in a very relatable way. If anything, I wish the show was a bit longer. I think 20-30 minutes would be the sweet spot.

Perfect for ALL adult rec players

As an adult recreational tennis player, I really enjoy this podcast. It fills that gap in my tennis hobby and the topics are ones that actually matter to me (captaining a team, advancing through ratings, odd tennis rules, etc). The episodes are short and easy to listen to whenever and wherever I am so that’s another bonus. Sometimes though I do wish that topics could be longer as there can be a lot to talk about things. Definitely listen if you do any kind of tennis playing.

Was notorious for deferring the choice after a toss. She did it when she wasn’t familiar with the chair umpire. She did it to me at the US Open during a legends doubles match. She wanted to test how the umpire would handle the deferment, and the announcement after the player introductions.

Fun show for tennis enthusiasts!

I enjoy this show which focuses on recreational players and all things tennis around us! Some of my favorite episodes are the Pet Peeves. The stories and situations are so relatable! You can tell that the hosts would be fun teammates and opponents. They know their stuff while not taking themselves too seriously. Also, to go from 2.5 to 4.0 players at the adult level is very impressive! I will definitely recommend this podcast to my tennis friends!

I happened upon this great pod a few years ago while searching for ways to LISTEN to ways to improve my tennis game. For those who run, walk or drive a lot and need to listen to tennis tips, this is a great pod for you! Carolyn and Erin are fun, you feel like you are talking with your favorite tennis captains while they explain rules, how to handle things that happen on the court and be inspired to improve your game.

Carolyn and Erin are wonderful! The topics they cover are wide ranging and informative. I love that each podcast is only 10-15 minutes long but they are able to delve deeply into each topic. I’m learning so much!

I’ve really enjoyed each of the episodes and have learned something new each time. I’m new to adult tennis and trying to get up the nerve to join a team after taking some lessons. This podcast answers so many of my questions and gives me lots of encouragement. I like the short format too. Very well done.

Always have time to listen

When I was first introduced to Second Serve, I really wanted to listen but waited until I could ‘carve out’ 30-45 mins of interrupted time in my busy day. I was so pleased to learn they are typically not more than 15 minutes! As a complete beginner, the information is so helpful and relatable! AND funny, now I love listening while I am running so 15 minutes is a non-issue. Great information, great people, great job!! I love it!

Unique and informative!

Most tennis podcasts talk about pro athletes. But what about me? Sure, my shot at Wimbledon is probably over, but I’d still like to hear advice about competitive tennis for my level and Second Serve fills that need. The topics are definitely helpful and I learning something new with each episode.

Great tennis podcast for beginners and advanced players!

I’ve told all my tennis friends that they HAVE to listen to this podcast!! It’s real info and advice from regular tennis-loving adults like me. Every other tennis podcast seems to be about technique, strategy or interviewing someone that has played their whole lives and are at a level that I will never attain. This podcast is original!

Great info - nothing else like it

I love this podcast! As a kid, I played tennis with friends and family, not competitively. As an adult, I picked up a tennis racket again after 20 years of not playing at all. It was a bit intimidating to get back into a sport where most people seemed light years ahead of me. This podcast would have been really helpful for me starting out. But even after having played as an adult for a few years, the topics are very informative and helpful. I learn something new each episode! New and experienced players will all benefit from this show! Keep up the good work!!

This podcast is great for anyone looking to get involved in adult tennis whether for fun or competitive reasons as it addresses realistic topics that players at all levels can relate to today. Most of the episodes are around 10 min long and are well structured and to the point of each topic.
