Shocking revelations about China’s crappy, new infrastructure, sneaky thieving of IP and ongoing abuse of their own and other nation’s people. I had no idea. However the disturbing videos of the Three Gorges Dam swaying sickeningly that I’ve seen make sense. It was built too quickly with poor materials. You guys have opened my eyes. Thank you.

Audio feed of a YouTube channel

I looked for this after enjoying these guys’ China road show videos on YouTube. It’s disappointing. The podcast is just the audio feed of their YouTube channel, which is pretty meaningless if you cannot see what they’re looking at and discussing. And the dumb memes make the show seem, well, dumb. That’s a pity, because these guys speak Chinese, lived there a long time, and obviously know the Chinese online scene. They could do a lot better.

Great balance of information and entertainment

I’ve watched this show on YouTube for years and listen to the podcast when I can’t sit down to watch. They love China and they tell it how they see it. The fact that they’re constantly attacked by CCP minions shows that they’re probably saying something the Chinese Communist Party doesn’t want them to expose.

Fair insight-to-clickbait ratio

I wish the guys would tone down the sensationalist headlines (they seem more appropriate for YT), and occasionally I wish there was more audio explanation about the video content shown to live viewers (serpentza usually does OK job at it but sometimes forgets), but in the meat of an episode they have the facts, some of which I can confirm from other inside sources with first-hand experiences. I have been following their ADV channel from back when they were less political and knowing the story I can see why they went off the deep end a bit, so to speak.

It only gets better

I’ve been following these guys for a long time now. I was fascinated with their adventures in China on motorcycles and I always enjoyed the helmet cams and constant communication between the two as they went off the beaten path. I love to explore and watching their YouTube channel was like being there. I’ve seen how they genuinely hoped China was an up and coming place to live and I’ve also watched how they had to flee China due to the communist leaders stamping out of all free media. They have gotten so much better and producing a fantastic show. Never a dull moment. I do miss the travel and adventures. They have always been a source of accurate information. They do not put of information without backing it up with lots of research. It’s one of the few places in the news today that this can be said. I hope that someday they will have more motorcycle trips and something new to talk about to keep their channel and podcast going for a very long time.

One of the most important podcasts out there. Living in a time where an honest discussion about the dangers of tyranny and authoritarianism is hard to find, this podcasts discusses the nuanced topics that need to be addressed.

Great podcast

As China’s influence grows, there is a great need for people in the west, and the United States in particular, to understand the nature of the Chinese Communist Party. Winston and Matt are fluent in mandarin and have lived in China for 10+ years. They provide insight into what is going on in China from a western perspective that needs to be communicated to the wider US public. Unfortunately, the leadership of China under Chairman Xi is an ugly, disgusting form of government. The CCP is not only a threat to the democratic governments of Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, but it is a threat to the Chinese people. The genocide against the Uygher minority in Xinjiang is a crime against humanity.

Very informative/Sound quality issues

Podcast is pretty good guys, but the sound quality is a huge problem. Volume goes from medium quiet to loud... This is especially a problem when ads up come.
