    This podcast will save lives
I too , like many people on these episodes, discovered porn at way too young of an age. Decades later I am still processing what that content has done to my brain, my relationships and my sexuality. However I do believe there is hope and the first step comes with recognizing this is a problem. This podcast is a source of information and compassion for those who have been victimized and also those who have hurt but want do better moving forward. Thank you for your work, thank you for these interviews and for all that you are doing for society. Fight the new drug!!!

    Episode 135
Such a great episode. Love the discussion around how one of the worst parts of betrayal trauma is the madness of the intrusive thoughts and how you question yourself the barrage of self doubt and thinking you’re the issue. 😥 I also love the part about coming back to your body and more full self and rediscovering what brings you joy. Bessel Van Der Kolk says “Remember to remember”, and I think that’s key. 💛

    Great information
I always learn new things. You are doing such good work. However learn how to pronounce "important ". There are two "t's" in the word. It is very distracting.

Great podcast for a very widespread and important issue
Almost everyone encounters pornography these days. And porn warps our sense of humanity for each other, our understanding of what is a healthy relationship, gives us cycles of shame and bad feelings about ourselves and false perceptions of what is important in another human in almost every situation and encounter we have in life. Fight the new drug is a great antidote and educational resource for all of this. It gives us info on how immediately and ultimately abusive porn is to ourselves and to others we then see in shallow and unreal ways. It offers tools to manage shame. It shows us we’re not alone and not bad people. It gives tools and encouragement to change for anyone. I’ve listened to quite a few of the podcasts and it’s really been worth it in so many ways. I highly recommend this site for anyone who wants to be a better person- because even if they don’t use porn they can understand and help people who do.

    Informative & Unafraid
This podcast doesn’t shy away from the hard topics. They have a diverse range of guests to give the listener a broad view of the many sides to pornography. They ask really good questions of their guests to get the full picture and aren’t afraid of the answers.

    Very Needed for the World
Consider Before Consuming sheds a light on a very difficult problem in the world that effects so much of our society without us even knowing. It brings on some incredible guests and insights that help people understand the issues behind the effects of pornography to our daily life, relationships were in and people we will never even meet. It is also presented in a calm, kind, and respectful way that is very welcoming to people wanting to listen. This has helped me a lot in my personal life and the people around me. So thank you and continue the great work!

Theses conversations are absolutely necessary in our society and the way FTND navigates these often tough and awkward subjects is with such excellence. As a former porn consumer, listening to this podcast regularly helps me to realize the detriment that porn is. Not only for consumers, but for women, children and men who have been affected as well. Thank you for all you do FTND 👊

Good overall, but takes a “blame men first” (feminist) spin
Things I like about the show: -victim statements and stories -data and anecdotes from professionals about the sex trade (eg from law enforcement agencies, researchers) -education about the consequences and effects of participation in sec trade, from short-term (eg jail) to long-term Things I suggest for show-runners to improve: -zoom out from your focus on porn/sex-addicted men to understand more of the cultural/socioeconomic factors behind sex trade -acknowledge modern feminism as a driver behind the sex trade and sexualized content, like the “sex work is work” mantra. Modern/radical feminism encourages women of all ages to objectify themselves or sell themselves (eg on OnlyFans) on platforms that hijack men’s brains and manipulate their emotions. -dive deeper into the effects of technology on content addiction and dehumanization - why is OF so successful? -be aware of the constant finger-wagging on male behavior that in some cases is completely natural (eg wanting to have sex). The “she is not your rehab” was particularly nails on a chalkboard, having to listen to the male sexual abuse survivor spoken to in such a patronizing/condescending tone by his wife/girlfriend. Imagine role reversal, with a man/husband telling a female SA survivor how she needs to cope and heal. -explore the impacts of fathers in the home and father-daughter relationships. The studies show that active fathers in the home are the best indicators of longterm health by any definition for the children/women. Overall: I wish this show the best but advise not using feminism to try to solve the issue of trafficking when feminism/anti-male sentiment is part of the cause.

    Good content, tooo political.
Love the education about how women are subjugated too horrible treatment. Opened my eyes. However, this is getting too political. He’s turning into almost every show meeting that men are bad, women are nothing but victims, and society is full of racism and sexism. Which simply is not true. Unsubscribe. Will tell others to avoid

    Inspiring!
This podcast is so real & positive. The women are so brave that have gone though these hard times & while I listen to their stories, I'm in awe of them. And after everything they have been through choosing to turn their trauma into helping others is incredible. The episode with Alia hit my heart hard because she has this amazing grace about her after everything she has been through. The host is so kind and calming and really respects his guests in every way while he interviews them. This is a must listen! Love it!

Been looking for something like this for awhile. I’ve only listened to a few, but I am excited to learn more about the science and testimonials. Thank you again.

Great podcast informing people using science, facts, and personal accounts.

Society needs change in this department
People act like drugs are the only bad things for us when porn and excess social media are just as bad. I like the name of this organization for that reason. Our society has turned into a culture of not addressing porn and sliding it under the table which will never create change. It’s almost like people laugh when you tell them porn is bad or unhealthy. I don’t judge anyone and I just came out of sexual addiction but resources like this are so necessary for helping men and women be healthy and safe.

    FTND states the facts
I have supported the FTND because I believe in their mission to educate people on the harmful effects of pornography. I appreciate that they are fact based. I think that promote the path we all need to travel down for ourselves or our loved ones.

    Great stuff but…
Just found this podcast and I love the guests and hearing such wonderful encouragement. However the host/interviewer punishes the listener. He sounds like he’s barely awake with no real direction during the interview. A host that doesn’t put you to sleep would make this total experience an epic one.

Great content but interviewer needs work
I never write reviews on here but I felt like I had to on here. This podcast is a good idea and has potential but I think the interview almost makes this unlistenable at times. The interviewees has good information to share but sometimes the conversations are awkward based on the questions the interviewer asks or doesn’t ask. It feels like he’s just going down a list of questions versus just actually having a conversation with the guests. But other than that this is very helpful.

    What’s up... people!? 😂
Seriously though, this cast has helped me and I’m sure so many others in so many ways while I’m attempting recovery. I’m so grateful for Garrett and every single person strong enough to join him on this cast. Amazing.. Thanks FTND

    I ❤️ - Bonus Constructive Feedback
I love this podcast. It simultaneously scares me and insights hope. However, I beg the interviewer to spend some time learning from John Sawatsky. He is likely the most respected opinion on interviewing around. Application of his advice would certainly support the flow of conversation in these episodes. Nonetheless this podcast excites me. I hope more individuals find it. Many thanks for spreading your message, -Jo

    Here for the Guest Speakers
The content is what makes this podcast so powerful, educational and influential. The interviewers could ask more thought-provoking questions, not respond with “that’s so cool” nearly as much as they do, direct the conversations to drive the stories and speakers forward, and make the conversation more of a dialogue. The guest speakers have such valuable insight and knowledge, and the interviewers could be more aware of the privilege they hold by being able to sit across from them and get to ask profound questions (or not, in this podcast).

    LITERALLY Changing my life
I am speechless most times with most of the topics that are addressed in these podcasts; I think that I am a better human being or at least becoming one because I am hearing these messages.

    It’s incredible
I LOVE the consider before consuming podcasts. I used to struggle with pornography, and it ruined my relationships and my life. Fight the new drug and these podcasts are awesome because they done shame BUT they’re informative of the harms of pornography and what it can do to you.

    Eye opening!
As a conservative Christian, it has been refreshing and eye opening for my husband and I to hear a take on anti-porn that isn’t just based on “God doesn’t want you to watch it.” It’s been great to hear the science behind it all, and encouraging for my husband to hear stories of others overcoming this addiction!

    Outstanding
Before this podcast I was lost and had no sense in myself. Now that I listen to this podcast, I’ve learned how to fight and how to think before consuming!

    Educational
I have learned so much listening to this podcast. My partner is an addict and it has helped me to learn what all goes into pornography, sex/human trafficking and exploitation. I have found something that I care about and support fully. Raising awareness is super important and fight the new drug/consider before consuming is doing an amazing job with that!

    Educational
As a recovering porn addict myself, This podcast has helped me further understand myself and it always helps when you can relate to someone who has had the struggle themselves.
  • it'sallpartoftheplan
Great guests and really powerful stories
The podcast took a little bit to find its footing (the questions and flow felt very awkward, but that comes with anyone starting a podcast). As someone who’s struggled with porn addiction (and found myself looking for more and more intense porn), this is a great reminder of its harmful effects. There is a lot to learn here, it can be hard to listen to sometimes, but it’s important to get some of the heartbreaking perspective. Thank you for doing this podcast.

    YES YES YES
I literally LOVE Fight the New Drug!!! It honestly inspires me so much and helps me help others because it really keeps things real. I can now have real conversations with loved ones about this topic and really help them consider before consuming.

AMAZING content, WORST host in all of podcasts
First off, my goodness we need this info and all the guests that come on. Incredible incredible incredible!!! Awareness is huge, we need this big time. Personal stories are so connecting and the professionals are on point. Garrett is an atrocity as a host. He literally responds with “I like that” or “interested” or “I love that” and then awkward pause. Every. Single. Time. He clearly isn’t prepared and all conversations are off the cuff unlike alll major podcasts that prepare and have a plan. It shows. He is unbelievably bad as a host, it ruins even the best of content, which is what I believe this podcast has. Please replace him, with literally anyone else. Keep everything else exactly the same
