    Top ranking
As I started binging this delightful podcast, I occasionally thought: who are these blokes to criticize any Beatles song or move? Then it became: Oh, shoot, he’s right:this Paul song IS twee! He’s ruining it for me. Now, halfway through, I’m enjoying Steven and Jason bantering like an old married couple! Top ranking.

    Missing you
Love your podcast - have listened to all the episodes. So well done, so well informed. Great dynamic and editing. Please come back!

    Good until….
Do they have to bring their politics up? I will be voting for Trump in 2024.

    Great Beatles pod!
Just wish they weren’t increasingly behind.l a paywall. But hey - that’s business I guess.

    Bravo
First generation American Beatles fan (yes, I saw them on Ed Sullivan) here who rediscovered the Beatles as I was approaching retirement. (The internet helped.) Why listen to NIR? Because of the hosts’ warmth, good humor and laughter even as they disagree; their incredible thorough research; the variety of their subjects ranging from the music (mostly) to the Beatles’ houses, to Stu Sutcliffe, and to even more than I thought I would like to know about Allen Klein. The episodes on Brian Epstein—including his death—were (like most) informed and tasteful. But never stodgy. NIR will tell you what you didn’t know and do it in a way that makes you want the next season to start soon. Plus, from this side of the Atlantic, their accents are an added delight. Five stars. Easily.

    Best Beatles Podcast
There are quite a few Beatles podcasts out there currently. Most are not worth your time. This podcast is light years ahead of the others. The hosts are intelligent and well spoken. As someone who has been listening to, reading about and thinking about the Beatles for close to 50 years I appreciate the research these guys do on the topics they cover. I’ve actually learned things I hadn’t known before. I highly recommend this show.

    Only 4 stars because . . .
This is one of the finest Beatle podcast anywhere. While many musical podcasts feature bland hosts treading water in “what if” scenarios or top 10 lists , masters Carty & Cockcroft understand that a broadcast must keep moving - and this one flows with facts , humor and their own personal chemistry. The Achilles heel of this show though is Cockcroft’s limp & continuous snobbery toward Paul - often in an attempt to overstate the value of George. The glee that is present in the disrespect of such a beloved and impactful artist undermines this shows otherwise joyous offerings and is why I could only give 4 stars.
  • Well alright!
    Sharing my thoughts….
    I think it’s super good.
  • Music is life...
Maybe the best Beatles content anyone’s doing today.
I really wanted something like this. Because the more you learn the deeper your appreciation for the greatest band to ever exist becomes. And these guys are absolutely fantastic. I’ve read all the books , watched every shred of video or documentary, listened to most if not all the audio / songs , and these guys still give me dozens of facts per episode that I didn’t know. As good as it gets !!!

So i hear you like minutia?
Dudes dive deeper than most on a beloved topic. So good! Highly recommend, if even just for the nice tones of their voices and appropriate reverence for their subject matter.

    Terrific Two!
These guys have tremendous subject knowledge, excellent rapport, unending passion, and are certainly accolade worthy spokesmen for all things Beatles. Most informative, immersive, and always fun, you’ll be putting aside your other podcasts to binge episode after episode!

    Engaging, enjoyable, refreshing
Since the late 60’s I’ve enjoyed listening to the Beatles. Though I have felt fond of the musicians I’ve not considered reading a book or listening to a podcast about them. Then I stumbled upon “nothing is real” and can’t stop listening. Hosts Jason and Stephen are a pleasure to listen to. Full of facts, history and insight. They often disagree but never on facts and always civilly.

Information? Yes, but not enough context and also I kind of an insider to insider discussion.
In many ways, this is a really good podcast if you want to hear a discussion about Beatle facts, Beatle trivia and Beatle history. However, there are often references to things that only the people having the discussion understand and also they talk about songs and different things, but never play any cuts from that music and if you're not familiar with it, the topic in the discussion becomes a bit meaningless. A potentially great podcast that has some real weaknesses.

    Refreshing and informative
I just discovered this Podcast recently and I so appreciate insight and content. The hosts are lifelong fans as we all are, but are not afraid to tactfully discuss a few “less than positive” aspects to life as a Beatle and the interaction between “the Boys” and those around them. The hosts share the microphone evenly, and it’s so easy to listen to them, the rare dual host podcast whereby the hosts seldom compete for airtime and interrupt each other. The recent two part episode about Stu Sutcliffe is a perfect example. Do yourself a favor and listen, you’ll be hooked like I am. You’ve got a new fan in Denver, Colorado. Thank you

Love the show about Ringo’s first album of the 80’s. Wondering if anyone else thinks Ringo looks eerily like Pete Best on the front cover?

    One of my favorites
Excellent podcast for anyone who is interested in the 1969s

    Really fun and informative
I never knew that a podcast about the Beatles could be as much fun as this one. It’s like you’re sitting in a pub with a couple of mates - who happen to be the Beatle Brains of Ireland - chatting about something you all enjoy - in this case, the one and only Beatles. You don’t have to be a Beatles wonk to enjoy it. Just sit back for a session with Jason and Stephen, you won’t be sorry.

My favorite podcast and not because they paid me to say that
It’s been around for 7 seasons now, but I only discovered it 6 months ago, because my stupid brother never told me about it, and he knows I love the Beatles…..stupid brother. Anyway I am busy catching up, and I am enjoying every minute of every show. Jason and Stephen - the hosts - 1 likes George, 1 likes Paul. I can’t really tell them apart because they are Irish and to my New York ears they both sound like Bono to me, so I’m not sure which is which. JK. They are clearly passionate about The Beatles, and of course solo Beatles as well. Each episode is packed with information, but presented with humor and historical context. If you think you know everything there is to know about The Beatles - and solo work - give the show a listen. I guarantee you’ll subscribe because you will be repeatedly saying to yourself “…huh I never knew that”. Seriously - even if you are just a casual fan, Stephen and Jason are so entertaining and informative that you will subscribe just for the Donovan jokes.

    Best Beatles Podcast
I’ve listened to a few Beatles podcasts but none really clicked for me. It turns out that in the interim, some really good ones have starred up and there is nothing better than Nothing is Real. Definitely get a subscription for the extra episodes. Deeply knowledgeable and detailed.
  • Brad Fleg
Best Beatles podcast on the internet, by far!

    Love this
Love this podcast. Not only do I enjoy the hosts’ wealth of insight, I could listen to them talk all day.
  • jmad66
    Quit complaining
Nothing better than 2 hours of you guys complaining about things you don’t have to buy. For a show I enjoy this was a whiny old man slog! Go have a nap!
  • Pepibob
    Enjoy the Podcast Except...
...for the constant McCartney slamming. No matter what he does he’s at fault, lying, self-centered, and the other Beatles nearly always get cut a break. It gets tedious and it’s inexplicable, and I wish you guys would tone it down because it makes it hard to enjoy the podcast.
  • GlickofWizzard
This Beatles Pod is the BEST
There are numerous podcasts devoted to the Beatles out there. This caught my attention because I enjoy the hosts, the tremendous amount of detail I learn from each episode, and the enthusiasm they bring to the table for the subject. Their unique approach keeps the content fresh and interesting. Like sitting down to a table in a pub to chat about The Beatles. Well done!!!

    I love this show
Hardcore Beatles fan here. This show is so wonderful! It strikes a great balance between extreme nerditry and relatable stories. Really appreciate all the deep details, strong opinions, and sense of humor of the hosts! Awesome show!!

    Attention Beatles Fans
There are a million Beatles related podcasts. No really. This is one of the best. These guys know their stuff and present it in a light and entertaining fashion. And their Irish accents are cool to this Yank’s ears. 8 out of 8 days a week.

This Podcast should get 10 stars!
I love this podcast. There’s not a better one broadcasting on any subject, and if you love The Beatles like I do—like any sane, rational person should—than you have to listen. I found it only recently and have been listening to it all the time trying to catch up on old episodes. Insightful, witty, informative, full of the sorts of information fans would love, the podcast shines a light on everything Beatles. I’ve really enjoyed listening, and not just for the stellar content but also to hear the opinions of Jason Carty and Steven Cockroft. Even when they disagree, I love hearing why. I love the details about when they first heard a song or what they each think of a song or an album (or a person or an entity or a film). This podcast is worth every minute. And I’m torn between trying to listen to everything right away or backing off and savoring the episodes I have left! Five stars only because I can’t give it more. (Jason, Steven is right that George is the best Beatle and that Maxwell’s Silver Hammer is dreadful. Steven, Jason is right about Give My Regards to Broad Street and Wild Life.)
  • Eee Em Bee
    A top Beatles’ podcast
I’ve been listening for 3 years and I just realized that the theme song represents each member.

    Best Beatles podcast
Jason and Steven are so great. Their knowledge, humor, sensitivities, and contrasting personalities and perspectives make the show so compelling. As much as I’ve read, I always learn something and always enjoy their conversation

    Brian Epstein
Great job on the Brian Epstein episodes. So much we didn’t know. And so much more we’ll probably never know about this complex man. Pity he never got on the train to Bangor with them. A bit of TM might have really helped, and he probably needed it more than the others.Very moving.
  • Mike in Jeff Park
    Brian Epstein
Best episodes ever. I’ve never heard this part of the story told with such compassion. It’s really something to think of what Brian would have done, would’ve had to say but fir one bad night. Thank you. I only wish there was some way I could put pennies I. Your coffers…..

    Awesome Beatles pod
Along with Something About The Beatles and I Am The EggPod, this is one of the top three Beatles pods. Lots of fun, very knowledgeable hosts, and a chance to learn something new after every episode.

    You found it
My favorite Beatles podcast. I was a little late finding it, but I’m hooked. The hosts are enjoyable and compliment each other very well. Their knowledge of all things Beatles is impressive but most importantly they understand podcasting. Each episode runs the perfect length and stays true to the topic for that week.

Enjoyable and knowledgeable Fab 4 podcast!
Recently came across this podcast and I wished I found it sooner. It’s a joy to listen to the hosts. They’re very knowledgeable about The Beatles. I’m working my way through chronologically and I’m up to episode 7 about McCartney’s “Wild Life” album and banter about its quality is awesome and had tears in my eyes from laughing. A previous episode about books has got me looking into those too. Thanks for a great podcast. I look forward to many more episodes.
  • Waiting 47/$;83!
    The best of them.
The affable and knowledgeable hosts Jason and Steven make this podcast the most enjoyable in my feed. They chronicle the Fab Four in enough detail to feel they’ve covered it all, but in an easy storytelling manner that leaves you wanting to hear more. Very well done, thanks gents!
  • Dr Bob K
Lots of good information for the Beatles fan who has heard it all
Jason and Steven share a vast knowledge of Beatles information and do a deep dive every week into another topic. I’ve listened to literally hundreds of hours of Beatles podcasts and read dozens of books and I still pick up new tidbits almost every episode. A great mix of information and opinion. My favorite podcast discovery of 2020.
  • JohnC18
    Kindred spirits
Terrific Beatles discussions. The two hosts bring up interesting topics and are obviously passionate about their subject. Very knowledgeable without sounding elitist. Plus, the Irish accents remind me of my late granny.

    Terrific
Thanks for another great season. Looking forward to the next one!
  • Unlposaune
    I love these guys!
Jason and Steven have vast knowledge, obvious favorites and a wonderful rapport and that is why this is my favorite Beatles podcast. Some of the highlights were the two part Mark Lewisohn interview and, well, everything! Maybe not the Ringo film episode, but... I learn so much from the guys. Their research and enthusiasm make this show a hit.
