Un podcast muy útil para aprender español
Cada semana, escucho a No Hay Tos. Las conversaciones son interesantes, los chicos son muy chistoso. A veces, hay episodios sobre la gramática, o conceptos lingüísticos importante para el aprendizaje de español. Darle un vuelto!

    Entertaining listening practice
I love this podcast! They are always interesting and entertaining. Bonus: you can play the drinking game with the word «güey». 😅

Amusing and educational! No hay mejor.
Two professors, born in Mexico, offer this podcast. The conversation between these two amigos is fun, informative, and culturally relevant. 👍🏼 And the slang is oftentimes hilariously irreverent.

This is great, not for anything close to beginners
In terms of American schooling this is about late AP spanish 2 - early Spanish 4 depending on the school and student so this may assist some it is very unclear in terms of the Spanish level required.

    Hilarious, Educational & Tejana Approved
This podcast is PEAK edutainment. I’m a Tejana and Speak Spanish well but sometimes fall into Spanglish, common errors, etc. The best part of this show is the humor from the unique personalities of the hosts - I love that they share their honest opinions on topics because it makes the show more authentic. And you feel like you’re listening to an ACTUAL present day conversation instead of a boring lesson asking “donde está la biblioteca?” I often go from chuckling to “woah, I didn’t know I’ve been making that grammatical mistake my whole life!” Every episode is a comedic treasure and I can’t wait for the next!

    LO MÁXIMO
Siempre estoy buscando algo que me ayude en mi aprendizaje de español. ¡Estoy tan feliz de haber encontrado a estos güeyes! Tienen un verdadero don para la enseñanza. Nunca se toman a sí mismos demasiado en serio. ¡Es divertido, interesante y muy útil!

Learned a lot but Betos examples are cringe
I am Mexican American and have struggled with grammar in Spanish and sounding more fluent. This podcast has helped me so much specifically with the grammar lessons. They are easy to digest and they have helped me understand why Mexicans say certain phrases or words. However, Roberto comes off as pretty cynical and meninist in the examples he uses. I was listening to the “subjunctive triggers” episode and he uses the example: “why are all death row inmates men?” And Hector tries to explain why it might be but Beto is like “remember women are awful tooo!!!! They’re just not arrested for it because they deal psychological trauma” I didn’t ask LOL. He has strong political opinions but idk if he is an activist on the side (where he can actually make a change) or just uses his platform to share his ideologies. I guess you can say his Spanish lessons are hard to ignore XD

    Excellent Podcast
Great podcast for people with an intermediate/advanced level of Spanish. These guys have lived in both the U.S and Mexico and are able to compare the two cultures/countries in an insightful way. They are also funny.

    Superb Intermediate Spanish Podcast
This podcast is an exquisite blend of education, humor, and natural conversations related to the day-to-day lives of the hosts Beto and Héctor. Episodes span a range of topics from correcting common errors to explaining popular Mexican slang. No Hay Tos is a must have for any intermediate/advanced Spanish learner. Keep up the great work!

    The best
I am inevitably entertained while listening to these two. They are funny and clearly enjoying themselves while delivering truly helpful information for Spanish learners. While spontaneous and honest, they somehow manage to be thoughtful and kind in their observations. I’m a dedicated listener.

Terrific instruction in an entertaining format
Great balance of instruction and entertainment. The charismatic hosts are old friends with a relaxed chemistry between them. The episodes vary between grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and occasionally some delightfully vulgar slang. Highly recommend!

The best intermediate/advanced Mexican Spanish podcast
TL;DR - my favorite Spanish language podcast of all time for intermediate to advanced learning (and I've listened to a TON of them over the last decade+ of my Spanish studies). I've been listening to No Hay Tos for years now and it's a fantastic podcast. If you're a motivated intermediate learner looking for a great resource to help you progress, or an advanced speaker looking to round out your vocabulary with authentic Mexican slang (and some very helpful points on grammar to help your mastery of the language), then this is the podcast for you. The hosts have been friends since adolescence, and their familiarity and natural cadence when speaking to one another really shows out when compared to the stuffy dialogues included with some other Spanish learning resources ("hola señor, ¿como esta usted? ¿Donde esta la biblioteca?" - none of that here). They cover modern, interesting topics, and special episodes where they focus on particular slang or grammatical points. In addition, both hosts are experienced Spanish language teachers, and offer one-on-one tutoring via iTalki if you're looking for more personalized or in-depth instruction. They also have a Patreon page when you can get even more material to help you in mastering authentic "real" Mexican Spanish. 10/10 for No Hay Tos!

    Incredible Spanish Resource
Definitely one of the best spanish resources I have come across in my journey to learn the language over the last year. If you are interested in comprehensible input - learning by listening, interested in the culture of Mexico, or just enjoy listening to two insightful and funny longtime friends who happen to be spanish teachers reflect about the world, then this is the podcast for you! I love that they incorporate Mexican slang so that after listening a while you will feel like you can actually understand how people in Mexico really speak. They also split the episodes between free-flowing conversations reflecting on life and culture and discussions on grammar and vocabulary, the latter of which are still more informal and fun then many other offerings found elsewhere. Finally, they have a ton of great interviews with interesting guests, many of whom have their own spanish learning resources to offer, so that listening to this podcasts connects you to a broader network of tools. I would recommend having a solid beginner-intermediate level of spanish understanding before taking on the podcast, but once you are there this podcast is all you need to bring your spanish to the next level and beyond. I would recommend DreamingSpanish (also featured on a few No Hay Tos episodes) as a great platform to begin learning spanish and reach a level where you can understand this podcast. I just finished listening to all of the No Hay Tos episodes from the start and am considering going back and listening through a second time - one, because the podcast is just that good, and two, because I know I will get even more benefit now that my spanish has improved significantly after one listen-through. I can’t thank Héctor and Beto enough for providing an accessible and enjoyable gateway to Mexican culture and the spanish language. Learning a new language has been one of the most rewarding activities of my life.

    Excellent
I love this podcast. Can’t recommend it more. Héctor y Beto are great. The grammar explanations and conversations are informative and entertaining. I listen and every now and again relisten to refresh a particular concept. This podcast has definitely helped me understand more natural and casual Spanish conversations. Escúchenlos ya.

My favorite Spanish podcast by far!
This podcast is excellent! I love how the hosts have natural, unscripted conversations that are both educational and entertaining! I really appreciate their sense of humor and often find myself laughing along with them when they joke around! I also like how the hosts are perfectly fluent in both English and Spanish, so they’re able to explain well the subtleties behind various expressions and slang words in both languages. I appreciate how they translate sentences from English to Spanish, which helps me understand how a native speaker would translate/say certain things, but I like how they still speak primarily in Spanish. I like how they are able to both recognize and explain various topics that students often find challenging and confusing while learning Spanish. I also appreciate the focus on the Mexican variety of Spanish, which is the variety I encounter the most often. Please keep doing what you’re doing guys!! It is much appreciated!

    Good but…
Good information but getting progressively liberal in discussion.

    Lo mejor de todos!!!
I am crazy about this podcast. It is EXACTLY what I always looked for: two teachers conversing like normal people in beautiful but colloquial Mexican Spanish, with added lessons in between. It simply doesn’t get any better than this. I have been learning Spanish for 4 years and I am fluid, however my Spanish lacks the everyday, “street” quality. This podcast fills the void splendidly. I told my two Mexican Spanish teachers about it and they, in turn, have shared it with their students. Lastly: learned about the existence of ExpressVPN from them, one of their sponsors. It’s awesome.

    ¡¡Súper graciosos e interesantes!!
Aunque ya hablaba español me fascinó la cultura mexicana y ¡¡es lo máximo!! (Recomiendo que los estudiantes de nivel principiante esperen porque este podcast está en el ritmo normal de hispanohablantes.) ¡¡Escúchenlo!!

I have really enjoyed working my way through the years of episodes from these guys. It’s a great way to train your ear, and learn Mexican slang and colloquialisms. I learn a lot from the grammar-based episodes. Hector and Beto have been friends for years so their conversations are always very natural. I became a Patreon so that I could get the transcripts and start solidifying those grammar concepts and vocabulary. Thanks and keep up the great work guys!

    The Best
This is my favorite podcast for comprehensible Spanish input. You need to be solidly into the intermediate level of comprehension to understand it. It’s a great place to pick up Mexican colloquialisms and learn about the culture and some current events. They generally alternate episodes where one is a conversation and the next is a lesson. These guys have been teaching for years so they know the areas to focus on for learners of the language. And they have great senses of humor - one episode is spent picking apart a Seinfeld scene to explain the different uses of the preterite and imperfect.

    Excelente Podcast
Ustedes dos son súper inteligentes, chistosos y auténticos. Digo inteligentes porque saben mucho del inglés tanto como español. Su autenticidad lustra en sus conversaciones. Les felicito en serio. Great show fellas!

Excellent. Very helpful and fun to listen to.
Nice work!! I’ve listened to the last 20 episodes and have been starting my day with this podcast over my morning run/walk. It’s really nice to have some candid discussion about Mexico generally and about Mexican Spanish from two native speakers that are also professional teachers. Keep it up!! 👍🏻👍🏻

    A Chill Podcast
Chill and down-to-earth, this is a great podcast for intermediate and advanced learners.

Great for learning how people really talk
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a year or two and have found it (and some other Spanish podcasts I listen to) very helpful for improving my real-time listening comprehension as well as my range of slang and idioms. What’s different about this particular podcast is that the hosts are quite young and use a lot of curse words—which are useful to know even if you’re not going to use them yourself. They also speak really fast, which you have to get used to because that’s how people talk in real life. Really good for developing your ear. If you are on the high end of intermediate it will be good comprehensible input.

    EXCELLENT Mexican Spanish podcast
I’m an intermediate level student and I listen to different Spanish podcasts all day long at work. This one is my favorite for a bunch of reasons: the hosts have a cool relaxed chemistry that’s really enjoyable to listen to. The topics are interesting. It both uses and teaches you the common slang and colloquialisms but is still clear incomprehensible for the intermediate, to advanced listener. As an intermediate level student I can understand about 85% of this right now which is exactly where I like to be what I’m trying to learn.

    Still listening after 4 years
When I started listening to these two güeyes I was 5 months into my Spanish-learning journey and could only barely follow the conversation. Now I can follow along with ease, almost as if they were speaking in my native tongue. I continue to learn new grammar, slang, etc. with each new episode, but mostly still listen because the content is genuinely engaging. It’s an authentic look at what life and culture is like in Mexico from the viewpoint of two 30-somethings. If you’re interested in Mexico, and Mexican Spanish, I’m almost certain you will find this podcast worthwhile. I’m grateful for having found Beto and Hector 4 years ago, and hope that they keep up the good work! Thanks guys!

    Helped my Spanish a lot
This podcast has taught me so much. And I love listening before bed because these guys' chill conversation calms me. They're funny, thoughtful people... I laugh out loud often at their clever sentence examples. And one of them speaks English more or less perfectly, so the translations are excellent, which is rare. Hard to believe this priceless content is free here. I suggest you make use of it.

My favorite podcast for learning Spanish
This is the best podcast for learning real Mexican Spanish. Hector and Beto make every episode fun to listen to. I’ve been listening to all the past episodes every day for the last few months and my listening ability and grasp of Spanish has improved substantially. They always have fun and interesting topics on the show - current events, Mexican culture, food, politics, etc. These are real, everyday unscripted conversations, not fake textbook dialogues. They also have special episodes dedicated more to understanding the language and grammar, special Mexican slang, etc., with plenty of helpful examples. If you are learning Spanish this show is a definite must-listen.

Best podcast for learning Spanish period
I have been listening to No Hay Tos for the past year and it is incredible how much you can progress your Spanish just by carefully listening (no distractions). Would highly recommend newer students who have trouble understanding the podcast to get their Patreon and review the transcripts after listening (don't listen and read at the same time, focus on the audio). A+++

    Muchísimas Gracias
Muchísimas gracias a ustedes por todo el tiempo que invierten en haciendo este podcast. Una de las cosas más difíciles para mi como un estudiante ha estado encontrado contenido nuevo, fresco, y honesto que me gusta y que también está completamente en español. Así qué, estaba emocionado a encontrar No Hay Tos y he disfrutado mucho. Me he gustado aprendiendo sobre la cultura Mexicana, y palabras y frases nuevas (especialmente las palabras y frases que vas a oír cuando visitas a Mexico). Muchas gracias y espero que sigan produciendo este podcast por mucho tiempo.

Best Spanish learning podcast I’ve found
I’ve been living in Mexico for a year and have listened to many many podcasts to improve my Spanish— this one is far and away the best. The hosts speak clearly but colloquially, the mix of topics is good (grammar, current events, cultural info about Mexico) and perhaps my favorite part: it’s never dull. Even the sentences they use are funny and engaging so that you don’t have to practice yet another sentence using your high school vocab (you all know what I mean— we’ve had enough sentences about fiestas and bibliotecas). I can definitely say this has improved my listening a LOT and streamlined my ability to learn grammar concepts. And of course, it’s even more fun to listen to if you’re living in Mexico where the cultural lens is focused. Give it a try!

--Michelle

    Super helpful and fun
Great podcast because it really helps improve your Spanish, but is also interesting and funny.

    Why the constant political statements?
I followed this show for a few months, looking for another resource to improve my Spanish. It became annoying that the majority of the sentences to translate are relentlessly political/controversial. I get bombarded with enough politics on a daily basis, don’t need it in my Spanish lessons.

    Lo mejor!
I think this podcast is an excellent resource to break past the “intermediate” plateau - at least in terms of listening comprehension. Beto and Hector are hilarious and do a great job of demystifying complicated subjects.

    Esto es lo que necesitaba.
Hey guys! ¿Que onda? I just want to say that i love this podcast! I was born in Orizaba, Veracruz but I was brought over to the USA at 6 years old and lived in the northern state of Minnesota. I always hung out with /grew up with Americans (for many obvious reasons) My step father was also American so I never got into Mexico or our language as well! This podcast is almost at helping me be a “no sabo” and learn more about my roots!
