    Sad update
I was a top-tier patreon subscriber for many years and they just cannot hold up their end of the deal. The last nail in the coffin was that I stopped subscribing on February 27 after many months of posts not appearing when they should, and they posted February Patreon benefits on March 1. This happens over and over and over again. I will continue to enjoy this as a free podcast, but I will never again give any money to them, unfortunately, and would advise others not to as well. I did for years, but they just do not hold up their end of the bargain. Save your money, they just can’t get their stuff together.

    One of the BEST podcasts!
I have only been listening for roughly a month and I am HOOKED! Rachel and Desi feel like two friends I've known forever and I'd love to sit and have a convo with them plus make food!

    My new favorite podcast!!!
These two are hilarious and I love their hot takes and their deep dives into menu items. They reminded me of a childhood favorite, the good old diarrhea song.

    Hilarious!
I was riding my bike listening to the Billy Wilkerson deep dive. I didn’t think it would be so in depth and stupid funny!! I looked crazy laughing and biking my way to work!
  • -so sick of it

    That is all

Unique and one of the best!
I adore this podcast. The hosts are so real, and it feels like I’m hanging out with friends. I love the old Hollywood stories and deep dives. The mini episodes are fun too. I also live in LA and totally appreciate the recommendations of places to eat! One of my favorite pods for sure.

    I love these ladies.

    Obsessed
I’m late to the game but currently binging. I’m super picky about what I listen to but I could hear these babes chat it up all day! They’re funny and vulgar but you know they care about getting the facts. Love you beauties!!

    Bravo ladies! My favorite pod
I am crushing hard on Desi and Rachel. Love your stories!

    New drinking game
Take a sip every time Desi says, “do you know what I mean?” 😅 who wants to do a zoom/listen and do this LOL

    Hilarious
Hands down best chemistry between Desi and Rachel. I’d listen to them talk about literally everything. However, the juicier the tale the better!!

    Should be called
“Two skanks discuss their sex lives.” Not sure how old these gals are but they’re old enough to know better. They’re certainly not from the “I don’t kiss and tell generation”; rather they seem to be from the “I kiss and do everything else and tell all about it in the most graphic detail possible.” As far as content it’s ok. They basically just regurgitate details from a book or magazine piece. They leave a lot of questions unanswered but in their own minds they probably think the lewd comments about their own sexual exploits make up for those omissions. Afraid not.

    Latchkey Lunch
I’ve listened for a long time, but randomly listened to an old episode and Desi talks about latchkey food. Had to share what happened to me last weekend. I was working and my husband was home with the kids. My 10 year old made herself lunch and I came home and she had a half eaten tortilla wrap with refried beans and pickles. Seemed pretty much like something she’d make and I took a giant bite. Nope. It was peanut butter and pickles. I was horrified for a moment. But finished the wrap because it was nostalgic. Haha. Kids are still out here creatively surviving.

Is Rachel slow talking for airtime?
Love Desi, but Rachel’s voice and lack of knowledge on everything outside of her shuttered Marin Taco Bell is hard to listen to. If she could talk at a semi normal pace, or learn new things instead of talking down to everyone in a slow drawl it might work. I’ve tried it at a sped up pace, but she’s bad even at 1.25 speed. On top of that the duo does not plan for, or schedule out any of their content, which is standard for content creators. They must be independently rich, which Rachel eludes to every episode bc her great grandfather worked in Hollywood. Which is cool. But if she comes from a legacy, why is she so bad at storytelling?

    Expected more
The Jim Jones episodes were recommended to me so I gave them a listen. The story was good and the banter between the hosts was good. However, after I finished the episodes I kept reading. About the case and found that portions of the podcast were read word for word from Wikipedia. I was hoping for a more in depth perspective.

    Stop it!
No. No. Stop it. Like, no. Nooo! Stop it!!Someone needs to learn some new reactions, but at least Desi makes it worth listening
  • Well:
    Just discovered this podcast
I just discovered this podcast. I really like the chemistry between the two women. Love their sense of humor and gift of conversation. It’s interesting to revisit the 80s cases from my childhood; I am always surprised at things I forgot about or have a new perspective on. Personally, I’d prefer less profanity. Repeating the f-bomb isn’t necessary and is distracting. Overall though, this podcast is a keeper!

    Sooooo funny!!
I love how this show is both informative and funny!
  • jennifer sf
    These two hosts are PERFECT...!
These two women are so GREAT TOGETHER that I worry they’ll get into a fight one day and stop this podcast and their friendship? I subscribe to so many crime podcasts and have valid criticism/input on all. But these two women have such a unique, uncanny and intuitive dynamic together that lately, it’s main go-to. If you like true crime AND celebs AND you like to laugh, this is it!

Didn’t make it past 5 min … I’d rather go to the dentist then listen to them to tell a story

    Next…
I just can’t with this podcast. Extremely vulgar and they can’t make a sentence without making fun of victims and the non stop giggling.
  • Sfcbhjjsgj
Rachel & Desi have diamond level pus$iēs 💫
Love all of the episodes and content. Most importantly I feel we have such similar senses of humor and they make me laugh so much!
  • Not customer centered
    No regard for the victims
It was really disappointing to listen to the Martha Moxley podcast. No one cares about your popcorn. Get your facts straight, you can actually find out where the finger prints were left. These victims have families.

Calling this “Comedy” is generous to say the least
I’m a fan of true crime, and a fan of comedy podcasts so I figured this would be my kind of jam. Plus I’m also into horror, and they were covering horror movies all July so I thought “even better!”, but man… I was sadly disappointed on all fronts. Calling this either a comedy podcast or a true crime podcast is a stretch on both counts. Their “comedy” seems to boil down to just being intentionally vapid, and shallow. Like some half hearted “mean girls” vibe. I listened to a handful of episodes just to try and give it a fair shot, and every one of them seems to consist of them just sort of blandly chatting about the subject in this weird, indifferent, almost bored way, while laughing at their own “jokes” which seem to mostly be just extremely superficial observations of the type you’d expect to overhear from vapid high school kids. Which brings me to the next problem. Though both hosts are in their 40’s and 50’s respectively, they both talk very much like bored, vapid teenagers, who don’t even seem to want to be there. The world “LIKE” is peppered liberally throughout every sentence “so, like, I feel like, Jason Voorhees, is very like… in a mood right now, you know?”. Every phrase they utter is stated like a question, in the same way unsure teenagers seem to speak, and every observation they make is always on such a base level. You learn nothing from listening to them speak. It’s more like overhearing a long tedious conversation between two very uninteresting people standing in line waiting in line for a latte at Starbucks, and neither of them seem to want to be there. Makes for some really dull listening :/

    I miss the true crime
I love the podcast and love the girls, they’re funny and just my type of people. But I miss the true crime, they’ve shifted more into pop culture. I still listen but not a go to for true crime anymore

    Best Duo
You girls are the best storytellers and love you comments and opinions in everything and everyone Coincidently I love Brendan too ❤️ Since empire records and now I get to see him in Russian doll. Tell him I say hi 👋

    Love you but
Is Rachel back on drugs, she’s slow and makes no sense in Marlon Ep. 5
  • Franca2021
    Later episodes are much better
I have to ask how did the early listeners stick it out??? I came across this podcast during the Brando episodes and loved it! Was cracking up with these girls and seriously laughing out loud so i figured I’d start from the beginning. HOW ON EARTH did the day one listeners make it through those first episodes. Rachel insists on interjecting every chance she can with a joke. Like EVERY chance she gets. I’m listening to the John Holmes episode and I’m trying to find the Hollywood crime in what apparently is Rachel’s stand up show podcast. BUT i gave it 4 stars because I’ve only heard Brando (LOOOVED it) a handful of older ones which were ok and the very first episode which was forwarded a lot thanks to the constant joking.

Used to be a lot better
They are funny and were so great at telling a compelling story. But it’s been months since there has regularly been any content I was excited for. Too many multi part celeb profiles and episodes about myth v reality/ collections etc. Maybe they just ran out of Hollywood Crime stories they wanted to cover. Paid stuff is literally just all about reality tv and boring stuff they do in LA. Archived crime eps are great tho

    Love!!
Newer listener & I’m thoroughly enjoying the balance of humor, rumors, & history. you also remind me of my bestie & I~ we simply cannot be trusted not to laugh constantly, either. ❤️

    Research
I appreciate your work but I’ve a suggestion. When you’re referencing a person or event you’ve no knowledge of do something me research. It’s frustrating to hear you say who is that guy or what was that.

I just found out about this podcast and let me tell you these yentas are really funny have very nice voices and do a great job presenting a show that will not bore you at all.

This is the funniest thing I’ve heard in several years!
The Marlon Brando series is truly the funniest thing I’ve heard in so long. I have burst out laughing countless times and in fact even had to brace myself against the shower wall because I was laughing so hard that I was crying and my sides were cramping and I was afraid I would fall… Run don’t walk!
  • hunterhigh
    Love this pod
The true friendship shines through and is part of the reason this pod works so well; that plus the humor, the compassion, the stories and coverage (The Shootout At The OK Corral was brilliant); the food - everything here works.

    Been a listener for years
What’s up ladies? Are you still “true crime” or are you pop culture?

    Researched Well
I do like the information provided. I think it shows there was time put into research just not what you typically get when you google person. Like the banter-relationship between the hosts too.

    A very engaging pocast
I’m loving the Mariah Carey episodes—-very well researched and well presented.

    Such a Great Time
I can’t get enough of these ladies. I think I have listened to the Tombstone episodes over 15 times and I’ll keep listening. They’re absolutely hilarious. Such an amazing show. Thank you for everything you’re doing! Laughter helps my anxiety and this pod is one of my favorites!

    Hey, you! Yeah, you!
I’m talking to you. Are you browsing for your next podcast? Are you reading reviews, wondering “is this the one for me?” Well let me tell you, this one is. As Stefon from SNL would say, this podcast has everything; scintillating hosts, necessary repartee, scandalous stories, infectious laughter caused by a ginger, and what we all crave most, dirty - filthy crime. But don’t just take my word for it. Listen to an episode. Any episode. I won’t even suggest one. Pick a number, any number. Whether it’s Episode 69 or Episode 123. Every episode is a guaranteed good time. I mainly listen while in the shower, shaving my legs - and Rachel and Desi have made me nick myself on multiple occasions. They should invest in Band-Aid stock. Not only do their main episodes bring the house down, but their minisodes are the real treat. This podcast belongs in the Library of Congress and their coverage of recent news deserves a Pulitzer. I wait with baited breath for the next installment, but if I’m ever feeling lonely - I just play Russian Roulette, spin my scroll and play whatever episode I land on. Like, Episode 27 “The Dark Side of Disneyland”. This podcast truly has something for everyone. So if you’re looking for you’re next podcast fix, truly look no further. HCS has you covered. I know, I know - everyone says they feel like their podcasters are their friends. But Rachel and Desi truly welcome you with open arms and once you’re in, you’ll hope they never let you go.

    Cough Cough
I just listened to your episode on Martha Moxley & couldn’t even concentrate bc of all the throat clearing. Is this just some irritating habit or are you sick? Remember, you’re actually putting this out to the public!
