SjdnshdnsnLaughingWhat the freak is so funny, you two cackling hens? Candy corn is gross and you don’t need to do it. You never even eat the fos you Are discussing
-
WickedCody1FunI’ve been listening for years and always look forward to hearing anney and Lauren conversing about food-related topics. I like that they’re real people, non-partisan, and always talking about fun and interesting topics. I almost feel like they’re friends and enjoy being able to listen to their shows every week

Ruth babycakesThey might be highIf you've ever listened to How Stuff Works podcasts, you’ll be familiar with the pace a patter of Savor. It’s not just about the topic, it’s also about the Southern speed of the dialogue (i.e. slowwww) and the complete absence of stress, politics, or anything else that might keep you awake at night. It’s perfect for falling to sleep, cleaning, cooking—any simple task that might be more pleasant with a bit of light distraction going on in the background.

Aric BuckholtA fun, nerdy type of podcastI love this show. This is not your standard type of food show, and definitely not a cooking show. If you dig history, nerding out on subjects, side tracks, and so on, you should love this show. It has a down to earth feel. You may find yourself craving all different kinds of things.
-
Video BoiOne of my favorite podcastsLove the research and humor. I’ve been listening for years and they always make me smile.
-
lynnolympiaDim dullAnd inarticulate. Uhhmmmm, uh and uh maybe the content interesting but this duo seriously needs to work on diction, pacing, pauses. Made it to every single photo and gave up.
-
JosephJohn12One of my favorite podcastsI've enjoyed the episodes with no interviews the best. It's all very interesting.
-
HowwowKowRough DraftThis show has potential; however, I would highly recommend Gastropod instead. Once you finish there then come here as you wait for more Gastropod episodes.
-
iwbedLove itIf you’re a little goofy, love food and love stories you’ll love this podcast.

BlueskybittersOmgAre the other reviewers listening to the same podcast? There’s so many at the top saying “I hate listening to two of the sweetest people have a fun chat about food together” like bruh. Can I be a hater real quick? To those reviewers: How does it feel to be broken inside? It boggles my mind that anyone would rate this show less than 5 stars. I mean yeah I guess people all have different taste but like… to take the time out of your day to write “I hate listening to women laugh” instead of just… I don’t know… listening to something else? It made me sad to read. Anyway keep doing what you’re doing because your good vibes make all the difference in such a weird world.

DanielleH21984Good podcastIn general I like the show! Some parts of the episodes are very slow but others are interesting! I suspect this may be based on your interest. I like the history and timeline but get bored with a lot of the other components. Sometimes they get of track with things I don’t care about but it is worth it to wait for the good parts!

parsleysage28Soothing & informativeMy go-to podcast for dentist apts, late-night knitting, and anytime I need to wind down :)

Your Favorite NJ girl!My favoriteI LOVE this podcast! I feel like Anny and Lauren are friends of mine! I write in quite a bit and they finally did my requested episode! Taylor ham! I’m still looking for my grandmother’s tomato soup cake recipe! I plan on writing in soon. 10 out of 10

HotdawgzOk…They deserve at least a 4.5, 1. Their pod is good and 2. They read my letter :D
-
name_not_important_80Great content, but please get new hostsAs a foodways historian, I love listening to anything related to the topic. This would be one of my more favorite podcasts but I just cannot stomach listening to the hosts. The over-the-top vocal “flourish” that they add to just about everything is incredibly annoying. Can you please just use a normal speaking voice? It constantly feels like I’m watching the SNL skit, Master Thespian.
-
LLT777You said “hide the pickle”Hehe
-
bluemeaniefaceUghI do detest a “jokey” podcast that isn’t funny. Clearly these well meaning foodies took their cue from infotainment shows like Stuff You Should Know where the riffing is fast and loose. But if you’re not funny, you’re not funny. Forcing it ends up like this all cringe all day. Take a 5 year hiatus and do standup or improv classes till you understand the difference between dumb knee jerk word association and inspired levity. Or not. I don’t care I won’t be cooking along to this slog again

imjustagirl///Switched hosts pleaseDon’t like their voices

SewHoustonWoke /hasn’t aged wellRegarding the Victory garden do. They keep saying that encouraging people to garden propaganda? ‘gardening was good for their character…and Americanizes them.’ (The horror!) -and this is after they mention that we were mostly immigrants who farmed in our nations of origin. So then, didn’t gardening help us connect with our cultures and help America? 🇺🇸
-
Nashx2DisappointingThe topics covered look great but they are disappointingly shallow—the hosts are exhausting to listen to. Unlike some other reviewers I feel the 4.3 is generous.

ConfectionistaLamb cake episodeLove this pod- one of my favorites! Your episode on lamb cakes brought back such wonderful memories for me. Growing up in the late 50’s & early 60’s in southern NJ, I used to go up to “The Cottage” every summer near Watertown NY. My beloved Aunt Agnes (Aunt Ag) owned this magical place on the shores of Lake Ontario where our extended family would gather every year. My sainted aunt put up with weirdo bookworm me & encouraged me to help in the kitchen if I liked. I did like. And once I expressed my love of her molded lamb cake she always made it for me when I visited. I’m a coconut freak so of course the ‘lamb’s wool’ & the surrounding ‘grass’ dyed green totally enthralled me. Thanks for the memories! 💕

M.MakoiHeart radio “professional” ads ruining pod cast experienceI have been a subscriber since the foodstuff days, And find the hosts to be quirky and informative. In short, they have personality. This is diametrically opposed to the extremely corporate, over polished - need I even say soulless feel of everything iHeart touches and taints. If you really loved radio, why have you killed it’s commercial viability, and are forced to find listeners elsewhere? When I hear the iHeart radio commercials I think it is more accurate to think iHate radio. And uploading new ads so that subscribers redownload a year of content is an interesting way to skew stats. If this was a review for iHeart radio, it would be a zero. But I like the podcast. A recent iHeart change to the feed tricked my pod feed app to download hundreds of episodes. I deleted all my iHeart podcasts. But I missed these ladies, so resubscribed.

kbhstlTopic?Love the show!! You girls work hard on your research and I truly appreciate it! Have you covered lentils as a topic? There are so many! And so many cultures use them a little differently. Keep on keepin’ on ladies!
-
184!3Always a delight! This podcast is perfect easy listening. Fun subjects, amazing hosts, terrible puns! It’s got it all.
-
eus2200Savor (Sugar)Great information. However somewhat turned off with the presentation. While you’re dealing with a serious topic the laughing, joking and cackling is a bit annoying. Thanks
-
giant daughterUn engagingJust listened to the Hot Toddy episode and it seemed like neither show hosts wanted too be doing a show about this drink. Seems like they are just googling and making podcasts about foods they don't know about. Not engaging.
-
Kiana KarahalisSavorI love food, I love learning about food and cooking there is no downside to this, but this podcast has as many opinions as facts which is quite entertaining for me.
-
AccesetteI’m outI’ve been listening to this podcast since it’s beginning & I loved it. I never enjoyed they’re interview style but I just skipped those episodes. But it has become less of a food show & more about their personal likes, experiences & personal chit chat that has little to nothing to do with the topic. I came to the end of my patience on a recent episode when they didn’t get to the actual topic until 15 minutes into the episode. Enough. If there’s people that enjoy that sort of thing put it in a special behind it he scenes episode. I’m just here for the food & that doesn’t seem to be their focus anymore.
-
Zatman1Are you high?I listen to a handful of food podcasts when I walk. Somehow I stumbled onto Savor and gave it a shot. I thought the first podcast was a exception but sadly it wasn’t. What the h3ll is so funny ? Vey little content and way too much giggling about nothing. A talk about root beer and never tasted? Never heard on Bon Apetit (?) and you’re a food podcast? Sorry.
-
IstacioBring back FW:Thinking!!!Please Lauren! Bring Joe and Jonathan too! The future is bright ☀️
-
osn we djFalling flatI used to really love this show and still enjoy the content; however, the school girl cackling by the hosts as reached an all-time annoyance. The worst though is when they do a topic and then admit to never having tried said food item as of it makes them special. The most recent episode about Root Beer is an example. If you haven’t tried Root Beer, knew you were doing an episode on Root Beer, why wouldn’t you try Root Beer? It seems like you could better discuss the topic of you have actually tried said item.
-
jonzarchFunny but cringeOne of the hosts has never tried most of the items they talk about- and she still doesn’t even when doing an episode! The other one is allergic to most of them. So tell me why they host a food show? Lauren is a GREAT host, smart, clever and great speaker. I’ll forgive her allergies. Anney is... not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. It’s only funny for so long. But she has a great speaking voice too. All in all 3 stars. They don’t seem to have improved over the last 2 years, but they have potential.
-
1971guyGreat food topics, horrible hostsThey tackle great food topicsSometimes, go off on tangents other times. They are so annoying, try to be funny but they laugh at their own jokes, and they are so pretentious! I thought it was just me, but in reading other comments, I see I am not alone. Sad, if they just stuck to the script about good food topics it could be good.
-
bandrocksmysoxoff!Woke Food HistoryI too prefer the older podcasts that were all about food. They were awesome! Lately it’s evolved to more of a scolding about American culture in general. Lots of scolding mixed with forced laughter. Used to be rich with detailed information and now not so much.
-
NGelokChips on their shoulders, and not the edible kind.I used to love listening to this podcast. The chemistry between Lauren and Annie is fantastic and it was like hanging out with friends while learning so much about the science and history of food. However, they’ve started editorializing so much on controversial issues that one can hardly get through an episode without some self-righteous diatribe. Sure, if the history of a certain food comes with baggage, I have no issues with that. But the majority of the comments they make regarding those issues come out of left field. It’s a podcast about food, something all of humanity have in common. Why stir the pot?
-
Ima GooberStick to the foodI too miss the format of the show when it was Food Stuff. I come to this podcast for the interesting food talk as a pleasant break from the grind of today’s word. Please skip the uninformed, woke virtue signaling tangents.
-
Hill352Been listening since the beginningOne of my absolutely favorite podcasts ever. The chemistry between the hosts is awesome and I love how the podcast is set up with both science and history of foods, especially with foods I previously didn’t know about. I do tend to like the regular episodes over interview style. Listener mail is always super fun!
-
A.J.CrowSo fun and charmingI LOVE the hosts! What an adorable pair of nerds. Great information told in a fun way
-
MooooCTEducational and fun!I teach college courses on agriculture and was going over small ruminant (sheep and goat) cheeses and wanted to find a fun and accurate podcast to supplement the lecture. These ladies provided just that and the students loved it! Their witty banter back and forth coupled with their thorough research reminds me of another podcast I love,This Podcast Will Kill You. Thanks for all these great episodes !
-
S. AnkenbauerIt's Great!Anney and Lauren are great hosts- I love that the show follows the same basic format every episode, so there's that procedural feel where you know what you're getting and when. They do deep dives on the topics, but with their own flare- I've heard podcasts tackle similar issues, but come to different conclusions about what is important and what isn't. Also, it's always fun to guess what might come out of Anney's mouth next- delightfully, occasionally she'll drop a sentence that is so inexplicable that I shout back at the speakers in my car. Never change, Anney, never change.
-
sallygorpLoveAnney and Lauren are witty and quick and have the best chemistry of any podcast cohosts I’ve heard. The topics they choose are so fun. I’ve been listening for years and more recently they have become very important helping me get through the pandemic not letting it deter them with producing excellent podcasts.
-
AngelaPowersGood contentLauren repeats pieces of her sentences over before finishing the sentence. They also seem really stiff and like they have bad chemistry. They sound like they’re not speaking conversationally at all, they just sound tense even when they’re joking and attempting to authentically laugh. I’m giving them 5 stars, because these are just my personal opinions and it doesn’t mean it’s a bad podcast. The content is good. I can just feel their tenseness and it’s difficult.
-
MikeyGee?I wanted to like this....I’m sorry, maybe it was just the episode I listened to, but I just found the hosts a bit insufferable. It was like being in a conversation with people who are talking about something you don’t know much about, and they don’t take the time to try to include you. They certainly find themselves hilarious though
-
TxGirl1961Great content except when they veer into politicalI love the content and even the millennially naive hosts until they slam headlong into politically tinged tangents that have little or nothing to do with the subjects.
-
BKWcbcCereal episodeHow horrible!!! Two giggling people offering no real information beyond their disdain of Graham, Kellogg and Post. BTW, Grape Nuts do not taste like dirt. A very disappointing hour
-
Si143Favorite podcastThis is my absolute favorite podcast to listen to while going about my day! The hosts are lovely and funny, and I always get new information!
-
ToriL0075 starsThis is my fav podcast to listen to while doing house projects. So comforting.
-
miss cghAn early favoriteI found FoodStuff when I was a podcast newbie. It’s still a staple, now Savor (I miss the old title)... I love learning about new food each episode. I gleefully sing along on “yeeeeast poooooop” every time. I honestly skip the interview episodes and sometimes a tangent gets too far off course but I feel like I’m talking to old friends when I give a listen, and I love that.
-
oboeboyBeware of cravingsOne of my favorite podcasts!!! Love their approach and enthusiasm to so many types of foods, the endless Scooby Doo references, and delicate approach to political topics that indeed have an effect on how food is perceived and continues to be consumed. Keep it up, ladies!!!!

marijuana raniTerrible part 2You have no right to comment and laugh about comments regarding colonialism about an issue that does not impact you as white women. I continue to be appalled that you wouldn’t think of inviting a south Asian to have their perspective on the show instead of contemptuously disparaging the debate. No one cares what you think, whites women. Remove yourselves from the debate - encourage diverse voices to share. Wow you guys are so tone deaf it’s appalling.
