  • It's alright; I'm a doctor.
    Sound is quite poor
Inconsistent levels, reverb, etc. from all the speakers, and too much compression. A painful listen - I gave up.

    Good but not great
The show is fun, except currently they have someone on there who does nothing but giggle almost the entire episode. I preferred the previous two people that the current woman replaced. I also don’t think they go enough in depth as they mostly just make fun of the movies it seems. Chad is amusing but literally all he does is crack jokes. More analysis please! More discussion that isn’t just making fun of these old movies. The best one is the 70s Decade group.

    A great catalogue of episodes
Honestly all of the “Decades of Horror” shows are fantastic. I would like to see a time stamp list on the episode descriptions. I would like to be able to zip right past the tag line segment and get into the meat of the reviews.

Horror and SciFi in one podcast!
I’m a lover of both genres, and having three people discuss them brings out facets and minutiae a listener may not have known. Good job boys!

    Five stars isn’t enough!
Decades of Horror is my absolute favorite podcast. Last Halloween, 2020, I happened upon the 1934 film “The Black Cat” and from there I found this podcast and seen so many classic horror films. You guys and girl are such a wonderful team! I love to listen to the different views on a specific film and then I watch it. You make me laugh and you give me something to look forward to in these crazy, COVID days. My only complaint would be that you don’t make an episode every week, but you do each have lives to live. Much love And I can’t wait to hear what you do next!!!! Faithful listener, Lisa in Tennessee

    A quick comment
Regarding the great discussion of “Son of Kong” ... Orson Welles very much was inspired by the special effects work at RKO and, specifically, The original King Kong. And yes, a snippet from King Kong was used in a brief glimpse out a window at Zanadu. Welles made use of a number optical effects perfected in King Kong and used many of the same matte painters. I’m not scolding. Please know that. I’m a journalist and happen to have the twin obsessions of King Kong and Orson Welles. Welles himself spoke about the special effects work at RKO. At any rate, thanks for the podcasts and dedication to talking about horror films through the decades. You folks have always been great - but you’ve been a helping hand through this pandemic. Thank you. Tom Loewy.

    Go Grue Crew!
Love this podcast, and the related ones as well. Nice work reviewing the plot with limited spoilers, but also infused with little-known info and thoughtful insights.

    Equality in Horror
Sometimes the discussions get a little political but keep waving those flags of discontentment Erin until all horror fans are treated equal.

A great mix of familiar classics and rare gems--First Rate!
This podcast has it all--great chemisty among its cohosts, entertaining discussion, head scratching trivia, and a growing selection of great movies under its belt. Movies range from well known classics to the "I can't believe that film exists!". Each podcast is filled with enjoyable banter, making you want to seek out the films you haven't yet seen, and to revisit the ones you have, due to all the interesting backgound info. this group brings up. Well worth your time!

The Grue Crew Does it Again
After tackling the most popular decades of horror in three other great podcasts, the Grue Crew goes back to where it all began and delivers another great horror themed show. These hosts may be newer to fans of Horror News Radio and their subsidiary podcasts but, if you enjoy the other "Decades of...", you can't go wrong here. And much appreciation to "Classic Era" for including a constant female voice, the lovely and well-informed Erin Miskell. This is something lacking in many other horror related podcasts.
