    Wonderful Gem
Love this podcast. Feels like artists have stripped away egos that can often cloud us and are just… talking and sharing and being honest. Feels like something that felt a little lost has been revived. Being let in on a secret that should have never become secret in the first place. A calm, sincere and lovely addition to my regular listening. Joseph Hart is smart and inquisitive and a great guide into conversations about making and thinking and living. -Cate

    a wonderful and thoughtful show
This show adds enormous value to the art community and the creative process. I’m grateful these conversations exist and highly recommend for any artist, or anyone interested in art.

    Inspirational
I really enjoy this podcast that artist Joseph Hart has put together. I’ve listened to many episodes, and as a fine artist myself I find them to be very inspirational in my own studio practice. It’s nice to get the inside scoop on what other artists are dealing with in their work, and it helps me feel less alone knowing that there are others out there like me creating art.

    The Real Deal
Great guests, thoughtful host and serious art talk that is neither dumbed down or pretentious. Bravo!

    In-depth and inspiring
I think it’s super helpful to hear so much in depth reflection about the practice of being an artist (and/or curator or dealer). And it’s super inspiring - it reminds me of why I make work in the first place and that the challenges I face are somewhat universal! :)

Like having the artist in your living room
From depths of the Ryan Travis Christian episode I learned the term “duende,” from the Sophie Stone episode I learned about how flowers relate to the coolest rugs ever (some designed to inch up a wall), and from Sean Kelly, what a thoroughly nice, unpretentious person he is. Thank you for giving us an enriching insight into the minds and machinations behind the canvas.

    The podcast I’ve always wanted
I have my favorite podcasts: Bret Ellis for film, Marc Maron for whatever, Last Podcast on the Left for macabre and humor. But I’m a visual artist and I have been longing for a podcast that addressed contemporary art from an intellectual perspective that also covered artists who aren’t selling for millions of dollars. This podcast is a god send. I love the focus on philosophy and technique, as well as the practical advice. Highly recommend Brian Chippendale (lightning bolt is one of my favorite bands and I’ve admired his comics since growing up in New England) and Tau Lewis (a sculptor I’ve been obssssed with since seeing her work at Frieze New York last year)

    Illuminating
Zero pretense, acute attention to detail and nuance and contradiction, and most importantly, takes nothing for granted. Whether you are an artist or are just curious, this is a whole-hearted and avid appreciation of what it takes to create
