    Great podcast
Have to listen at 1.25x though.

    Getting boring
Sometimes the cases are interesting. maybe because we are hundreds of episodes, though, sometimes they are so dull. Often times they just repeating the same sentences over and over again. This most recent episode we heard him describe what she said in the police interview, then we heard him describe how the prosecutor described what she said in her police interviews then he described her on the stand saying the same thing as in the police interview. If there isn’t that much material, just do a short episode or write an episode about something else. As many others have said, he speaks slowly and monotonously, it’s one of my bedtime podcasts because of that. But the doesn’t mean I’m not listening to the content, and it’s irritating when it’s just repeating the same few sentences over and over.

    What went wrong
Once upon a time this was a thoroughly fascinating true crime podcast, but in the last two-three years the cases that are covered are remarkably dull, without any of the twists or turns that made earlier seasons so compelling. More like a police blotter than actual storytelling, the podcast has become a sad slog.

    Season 9 Ep 3
This is a simply heartwrenching story of victims of a very sick man. Well researched, written and narrated. Fascinating but so sad at the same time.

    Over it
I’m so tired of getting “early access shows” I’m about to delete the podcast all together.

    Just the facts!
This show is great because there isn’t 10 minutes of banter between hosts at the beginning who think they’re funny. He presents the case straight off in a very well researched way. This is the kind of crime podcast I like. It’s very much like Casefile, my other favorite podcast.

    Gritty storytelling
There are times when I have to take a break during an episode. Very disturbing, and I am not overly sensitive about the dark side of human nature.

    Amazing podcast!!
His voice, the way he tells the story plus all the research they’ve done to bring us the full story is absolutely 5 stars! Whenever I’ve caught up on episodes, I start over and listen again! Absolutely worth trying. You won’t be disappointed.

Interesting but host needs to speed up the narration
Interesting cases but the host has a strange way of speaking. He often drastically slows down the last few words in a sentence (which is saying a lot since he already speaks quite slowly).

Whats with the weird voice? spoils a great show.

Her voice puts me to sleep, no enthusiasm in it!!!

    One of my faves
Love this podcast, love the host’s soothing voice.

This is passable if you put the speed at 1.25
    Otherwise it’s basically hypnosis

    So worth while
Worthy of paying for, well done, this N.A. of content, thank you!

    Too slow
It’s a good podcast, but the fact that I had to speed it up just annoyed me, especially because he’s super slow, but interviews and everything else are regular speed.

    Amazing
    So good

    Horrible voice
I can’t understand how people are praising the hosts’s voice. I actually thought it was a computer at first. I had to speed the sound up to 1.25x and ultimately, sadly won’t be able to listen to this show due to slow robot host. Maybe AI is fooling us all…

    Cream of the crop!
Benjamin and his crew are the real deal. If you love an interesting story, a velvet voice, a factual account and true artistry- you’re going to love TWAU. First-class production and audio only bolster this perfect offering to the podcast genre. I’ve been a fan since early in the game, TWAU was my first obsession. I only became interested in all the other podcasts because of this. Thank you Benjamin and all the TWAU crew for your hard work. It’s nothing short of perfection. ♥️

    Top Notch!
Benjamin is an amazing presenter and the cases are always interesting. I love that your podcast includes numerous pics. A very consistent, classy, interesting, and professionally done podcast!

    Love!
One of my favorite podcasts! Not only do I love the hosts voice, but I love his rhythmic speech, and it’s just so loving and soothing. I hang onto every word of his stories. Keep up the fantastic work!

    Come get your crime fix
I love this Pcast, nicely narrated…Benji speaks clear and calm, he’s very understandable considering his accent…I wouldn’t mind using him to narrate my life lol….he uses actual footage recordings so that tells me that he does his research, some stories are random and some are popular, all are detailed and interesting
  • DMcKelvy
    Well written and produced
Consistently excellent storytelling and polished production. Appreciate the attention to detail and backstories of victims and perpetrators. Without opinions or commentary- creates clear, meaningful and memorable stories. Thank you!

    Hold the syrup please.
Not sure where all the mucky muck interviews come from but the episodes would go down a lot easier if much of it was eliminated. The stuff I’m referring to are the victim impact statements, and the post-hearing comments by the murderer’s family members. Why? Because it’s always the same, it’s very personal, and waving them around in a podcast demeans them and drags the narrative into the dark depth of droll, syrupy, melodrama. Please don’t parade people’s morose pain for my entertainment. The story is enough. The gory details are enough. A victim’s impact statement is for judge and jury. I have subtracted a whole point for this. Otherwise, great work. When my UK friends try to tell me how violent Americans are, and how meek the British are in comparison, I love pointing them to They Walk Among Us.

    This is a good one
Love the host, although the face doesn't match lol. Stories are new so far from same old cycled through, and love the single host scripted format, is my favorite. No opening chit-chat is awesome. The older cases are my favorite.

    Response to a recent critique
Completely disagree with the review that said 100-some-odd year old cases aren’t interesting. Crimes in different eras are intriguing in how they reflect the different times and tend to be wrapped in a bit more mystique as well due to there simply not being as much information available usually. This is something Casefile also showcases well. It’d be boring if we only focused on current times.
  • piclklypoo
    Usually good
True crime needs to be relatively current to be interesting. The more recent the crime, the more compelling the narrative. 100 year old crime cases are simply not interesting.
  • Spadalsky
    1/2 speed
Listened to half an episode… Can you speak any slower?!

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a great podcast! The narrators voice is fantastic for true crime! One of my faves!
  • Ambeeeree
Best voice in true crime podcasting
Always interesting cases, thoughtfully narrated with in-depth research. No blaring music, no chatter or banter, just a calm soothing voice with a beautiful accent. Well done!

    Love it
Amazing thank you love love love

    Good Work
This is going to ruin it for some of you, but what they did in season 4 episode 31 was some brilliant! Well researched with good pacing. Being across the pond, I have to assume some of the multi-parters that it don’t need to be are probably notorious in the UK and not the US.
  • Luna Loper
    Captivating
This is an absolute must listen to podcast. Stories I have never heard before unlike the same stories told over and over by different podcasters. Repeatedly binge worthy by choice.

One of the best serious true crime podcasts
Great narration and writing. Lots of details. Serious and well researched.

    Great descriptions
I love this podcast! No unnecessary chit chat, just the story with the bonus of “Where are we now” follow-up. Unique, informative and factual…NICE!

    You have fulfilled . . .
your new produce’s dream to become more gross, to reach the of dregs of humanity. I I can no longer listen.

    Informative
First time listening, started at Season 6 episode 1-5. I don’t know how I never heard of them before but this was really well done. Very respectful and no speculations, just facts. Host does talk incredibly slow so I did have to bump it up to 1 1/4x speed and it was perfect. I do wish the episodes had case names instead of just “season x episode x” especially with multi part episodes but it’s not the end of the world. Really looking forward to getting caught up on these cases!
  • Joshuausher
    Great narration 👌🏼
    Definitely subscribe.

    Listen on 1 1/4 speed
Like many reviews, there’s a slow go to this. Cadence is very measured, and pauses are unusually long. My solution? Listen at 1 1/14 speed! Rated 3 because: unless you have any (and I mean ANY) actual proof to the claim, can we please not inject “it’s because the cops/neighbors/clergymen were clearly racist” into every. Single. Story. There are times when this is pertinent to a case. There are times race or sex actually play into a motive or crime. But for the love of true crime podcasts, not EVERY story is about it.
  • Carbs&Coffee
    Conflicted
The cases are unique and interesting, I suppose that’s the reason I can bare through the strange narration. It is a bit tough to get through some episodes, I wonder how this guy got the part. It would be wonderful to try different people, I know I’m not the only listener with this issue!

    Consistently good & Bingetastic
I keep coming back to this podcast because of steady flow of well researched cases delivered with excellent pace, timing and tone. The narrative always comes to a satisfying close where you’re not left wondering, instead you have an understanding of the gravity of these crimes and their context in the lives of everyday people. No wacky voices, loose ends, nor superficial storytelling of the same cases over and over. Best of all there are so many episodes so you’re not left hanging. Bingetastic.

    Decent
Well-written, but this guy has a really bizarre inflection. He sounds like a text-to-speech computer. Once you get past that, there’s a good podcast.
  • jipisibili
    Paradoxical
Well, you can sleep while you’re listening to the most horrific and painful cases…
  • cmdm
    clear and concise…
no chatter or banter…just excellent and informative reporting…

    Great show
The story can be a little confusing at times, but one of the best narrative true crime podcasts.
  • player number (i dont know.)
Love it! This podcast is exceptional!
Unique stories, and unlike other true crime podcasts, it’s not just gory sensationalism. I really enjoy the way the stories are presented and concluded. Simply phenomenal. 10/10!!!
  • UnnecessaryOrchestra
    Wonderful production, narration
If this man says “CCTV” one more time I’m going to fall in love
