briskymeLong infomercialThey talk about pertinent issues to the counseling field like the importance learning skills vs theory and being trauma informed, but from what I have heard so far all that important learning is found online via their courses. This essentially becomes one long informercial for these online courses one must purchase at a fee.

patmike22Fantastic Study/Refresher Resource!I’m coming off of an unscheduled, extended break in my LMFT Master’s program due to COVID-related changes, and this podcast has been an incredible resource that’s helped me to dive back in and re-familiarize myself with theories, terminology, and an appropriate headspace as a mental health professional. Grateful for this informative and digestible podcast.

IzzyFollowsExcellent PreparationI have been listening for several months to older episodes along with new releases in preparation for my master’s degree in school counseling. I received a huge compliment today in class that my analysis and response to a fictional client sounded like that of an experienced counselor. I owe most of that honor to the podcast hosts, Rory and Ken, who have engrained a great deal of understanding of counseling theories and practices in my mind. I also would like to thank the members of the Facebook group of the same name as the podcast for posting questions of ethics and resources that are often answered in the podcast as well as in the comments.
