ElleWritesInformative and Fun!My first episode was 485 with Nori Jemil and it was exactly the inspiration and information I've been seeking as I develop (hehe) style and build my portfolio. Since this one, I've dabbled enough in the more recent episodes to go back to 001 and explore them all. Much appreciated participant to the community and “friend in photography.” Looking forward to new content! Keep up the good work!

DCFPhotosEntertaining and EducationalNot only is this podcast entertaining it is also educational. I have learned lessons small and large after being a listener for many years. I am always amazed that for some episodes I read the synopsis and I think to myself ‘nah I’m not going to get much out of this episode’ to being surprised that I have gained a new insight into a subject matter or learned a new technique etc. Always look forward to the next episode and what Raymond has brought to us each week.

BlahbloooooooSolid genuineRaymond does a great job of keeping the heartbeat of an industry going with this podcast. This industry is nothing without its community and the community needs a future which is where this podcasts messaging really hits for new photographers to hear voices telling them what they may need to here to get started but more importantly keep going.

DrownthecrownInsightful and powerfulI am always blown away every time I listen to an episode, and left with so much inspiration and excitement for photography. I am not a beginner, but still learn so much every single time. So don’t let the name fool you. These episodes are jam packed with information, inspiration, and so much to ponder as you continue your photography journey.

Stuff 1Great Podcast!I am a beginner at photography and I am getting good tips, ideas, and real perspective on photography. SnappyNanaFantastic podcast for photographers of all levels!I can’t say enough good things about The Beginner Photography Podcast! Don’t be fooled by the name—there is something here for every photographer, from beginning hobbyist to seasoned professional. Every week there is some fantastic new lesson or motivation or way of appreciating photography. Each guest has something relevant to share, even if their genre and interests don’t seem relatable at first glance. The host, Raymond Hatfield, is a masterful interviewer who keeps the podcast fresh and engaging as he connects each guest with the listeners. He also share highly actionable strategies of his own that are extremely helpful. In addition, there is a supportive private community where listeners can explore and apply the topics; I highly recommend!

N0VAKIDOn the fence.A lot of great in-depth interviews. Very informative, and then there are many episodes of this guy babbling for hours. This pod cast is very hit or miss.

C Valencia 88A great resource for ANY photographer!I stumbled upon this podcast about a year ago and I’ve continued to find great value and insights from each episode. This is NOT just for beginners. The podcast is formatted and facilitated in such a way that very complicated concepts are broken down into everyday language and made accessible to photographers of any experience level.

Photos at any ageReviewRaymond’s podcast is fabulous I listen every week and you can’t help to learn something Raymond always has interesting guests and he makes both the guest and the audience feel comfortable. I have been taking pictures for a while but now I am learning to take photos. I am 69 and Raymond has shown that you can start at any age. Thank you Reid Steinfeld from Southern California

Dallas GreyEducation All Around!I struggle to even find the words for this review. Raymond is an incredible human for spending as much time as he does providing educational content to both listeners of the podcast and members of the Beginner Photography Podcast Facebook group. His interviews are always informative and goal oriented. The goal, of course, being helping every single one of us learn as much as we can. This podcast is a great listen and has the feel of a conversation between friends. When looking for a way to jumpstart your photography journey, look no further than this podcast and Facebook community. As long as Raymond is willing to create content, I’m willing to listen to it. Thanks Raymond

Amelya JayneEpisode 223!!! Incredible insights!Every photographer or artist should listen to this episode. Chris Grunder had so many amazing moments, I will have to Re listen and take notes! The questions about “is photography an art” and all the information shared is exactly the kind depth of knowledge I have been looking for! You can’t find this kind of information on Instagram. I really appreciate your podcast and elevating the conversation. Amazing interview! I could use another hour with Chris! That university is lucky to have him. Awesome job! Dang. Just so so so thought provoking. Ok. I just listened to #342! Damien Lovegrove’s work is old Hollywood! He has confirmed my love of hard light! I was recently mentored by an amazing photographer who has her masters in fine arts, teachers at notable institutions. She surprised me when she asked me to choose a style of light. And stick with it to create my style. I love all light styles but as I move into year 14 of my career I am drawn to hard light & shadows. He also mentions the use of the phone camera and it is a huge tool for me. I didn’t even know what was possible with the phone camera’s until I upgraded to a new model. It’s liberating. Unpretentious. I love it! I even teach classes now for phone photography. It’s just crazy. Awesome podcast! I will definitely listen to your podcast on a regular! I really appreciate your hard work and sharing such brilliant information. This podcast is for all levels. Not just the rookies:) 📸💗🙏

ckw_12_Highly recommend!I came across this podcast as I was starting out in my photography journey and I found it to be so helpful that I went all the way back to the first episode and have been going through the entire series. I’ve learned so much from Raymond and his guests and highly recommend it to all. Not only have the episodes been super helpful, but I reached out to Raymond over email when purchasing my first camera and he responded very quickly with the most thoughtful and helpful response. I’m so thankful for Raymond and his podcast!
-
CrowWingPhotographyIncredible, entertaining, and very informative content!I started listening to Raymond about a month ago and I am already 45 podcasts deep. His interviews with successful artists and their stories has really made me step up my game and be more creative in my business. There are some interviews about creativity that are so enlightening that it has made look at life in a different way, and I am thankful for that. It doesn’t matter if you are new or a veteran photographer there is something for everyone in this podcast.

AwwsnapChuckSo Much More Than A podcastI found this podcast a while ago and I’ve been listening for a few years. The content is top notch and the interviews with photographers of all genres are inspiring and enlightening. I also enjoy the interviews with members of the BPP Facebook group. That’s where the title comes from. The Facebook group is an amazing resource of supportive individuals. It’s more than a podcast but even without the Facebook group the information contained in these episode will help you learn and master your camera.
-
QtrPonderosaEpisode 334Excellent podcast IMHO for not only the beginner but the experienced. I enjoy your podcast, keep up the good work.

6426854Entertaining educational and packed with valueThis podcast is great. I found it and started at the beginning and I listen all day at work. Raymond is easy to listen to, and asks all the questions I want answers to. The podcast is fun, thought provoking and encouraging. Raymond and his guests share a wealth of knowledge in a way that’s easy to understand and leave me motivated and excited to try and learn new things with my camera. I’ve had the privilege of meeting Raymond in person and was surprised to find that Raymond was more than enthusiastic to not just meet me - a novice, still in camera kindergarten - but also spend 2+ hours chatting and sharing information and insight on photography. Raymond is passionate, knowledgeable and laser focused on providing a truly valuable podcast. In summary, if you’re a photographer, you shouldn’t miss this podcast. Thanks Raymond - keep up the good work.

TwitterisbetterTop NotchAs a photographer who’s just starting out in business and creative this is just such a good podcast. I feel like I’ve searched so many avenues for this content and it was here all along. Thanks for what you do to make this podcast great. It hits so many different types of photography and there are just so many great gems in these episodes even if the overall theme doesn’t apply to what each and every person listening is doing. I’m motivated to go and shoot or try something new after every listen! Keep it coming!

SfcookThe Best PodcastOne to two days a week, I have a commute that lasts a little over an hour - each way. Although the radio is a good way of passing the time, I stumbled across this podcast and found it is a true gem. I love photography, I love taking photos, and learning more about the art. This is the best podcast I have come across. Not only is the topic of photography discussed, but also goals, successes, and challenges of those in photography and their personal thoughts. The mindset of this podcast is absolutely wonderful. Listening to this podcast gets me more excited to be out and about shooting photos. As I listen to the discussion, I find myself looking out the car window and thinking - what am I seeing? Is there a photo? Light? Whatever level you are at, this podcast deserves a listen. Thank you so much for developing this learning resource!! Scott

BlugtrThe Swiss Army knife of photography podcastsRaymond has not only created the best podcast for anyone, not just beginners, to help advance their camera skills. The community that has surrounded the podcast has been indispensable. Have a problem or question? You will get your questions answered as well as the support that is crucial to evolve your talent. From business plans to the psychological effects of being on the backside of a camera, Raymond has done an outstanding job of putting it all together.

Block870This is the one!If your lost, stagnant, or don’t know where to start in photography this is the podcast for you. This has helped me grow and get the confidence to call myself a photographer and believe it. The community spotlight episodes are amazing! The community is just welcoming and super helpful. The class auto to amazing Raymond does helped me so much, I thought I had a grasp of the basics but kept forgetting one important thing and got blurry photos missing the moments. This podcast and classes made it click, now I don’t want to go anywhere without my camera.
-
ampikooWOW!I just got done listening to the latest episode #304 with Dan Milnor and I love this particular episode so much. I love how authentic the conversation went and how unscripted it was. This podcast has been so inspiring and empowering in my beginning of photography journey. I would recommend this podcast to everyone…not only photographer! Lastly, big applause for the host, Raymond, for making this community happened for us. Thank you!
-
Seth LockardDoes that make sense?I keep hearing this second guessing question over and over! You’re asking pretty straightforward questions, leave out the “does that make sense”

dknappjrBest thing ever for my photographyI cannot say enough good things about Raymond, the guests, and the Facebook group. At the beginning of the pandemic, I stopped listening to all other podcasts. It’s brought the focus and encouragement I needed to level up my skills and to make time to keep working. I’m feeling confident and that this could be the year to launch my business. Thank you, Raymond! Dave K Bellingham, WA

thelittlepiggyAmazing podcast for all photographers!I’m new to photography and I’m so glad to have found Raymond’s podcast. He finds expert photographers from different backgrounds and the interviews are always enjoyable and informative. I also took one of his online courses and learned so much. He’s a great teacher. I don’t know how he finds time to do all of this but it’s inspiring. Keep up the great work Raymond!

L. BarrettMy favorite podcastMY FAVORITE PODCAST I’ve listened to the podcast for over a year and always enjoy the positivity, the education, and the inspiration Raymond brings with each and every episode. Raymond is a kind and motivational teacher when talking to beginners; and he skillfully pulls out great tips and takeaways when interviewing experts. He never runs out of interesting topics and guests, which no doubt requires a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Because of the podcast, I also learned about Raymond’s FaceBook group and free presets he provides as value-added benefits, and these have been great. I’ve been studying photography for 5 years now, and Raymond is one of the mentors who keeps me jazzed up about the journey. This podcast has been a bright and positive light during the pandemic. We could all use more positive vibes these days, so tune in if you need some of that! Apple ID: lb21
