Is this show not airing anymore? Terrible job by The Athletic at communicating with its audience…

A must for any Cowboys fan!
I’ve been listening for 3 seasons, the guys at About them cowboys bring great weekly analysis from the offseason all the way through the regular season and playoffs. A must listen for any Cowboys fan.

You Know, You Know, and You Know!
The amount of You Knows getting thrown out is crazy!!!! Love the content, but slow down the You Know train.

    The truth
Gives cowboys fans who listen to cowboys.com ( which I like some of) a more non biased view of the team. Love the content.

    Fun Listen, Little Substance
Haven’t missed an episode since this pod came out in 2019, but lately it’s just becoming a slog. The hosts have a good rapport which is important, but it’s only a good listen if you’re not relying on it to be your main source of team news and information. Game preview episodes are recorded on Tuesday or Wednesday, far too early in the week. Most injury news or practice updates are all speculative because they’re recording 5 full days before the game. None of the personalities except for Kent have a Cowboys background. They thought the Randy Moss game on Thanksgiving took place in 2000. I give Jon Machota credit for learning the team’s history since he’s been covering them. He provides the only worthwhile viewpoint on the show. Most conversations go like this: KT: “Here’s why the Cowboys and McCarthy are dumb, because I’m a Packers fan and now here I’ll relate the situation to something from a Packers team from 10 years ago (…)” Saad: “Yeah (agrees with whatever point was just made), and here’s how this relates to the early 2000s Patriots, because I have no clue about anything else in NFL history and this is my only frame of reference (…)” I know KT is well-liked in that small Dallas sports media circle but he comes off really smug when the team loses, and disinterested when they do well. Let Saad just cover hockey or whatever he does, because he is in over his head talking this football team.

The Wendy Williams Show of Cowboys Pods
This is the only cowboys pod I continually have to fast forward through. It borderlines on a gossip show. I mean it’s like they take stuff so personally that it’s not objective. The saddest part is that I don’t feel like I learn anything more than I already read on twitter. In fact, they often regurgitate what they have read from others on Twitter. Not up to the Athletic’s standards. This is definitely not the A-Team (John included) and KT sounds like he’s day drinking the whole pod). I will say that Saud is usually informative. Skip this and jus listen to Nate Tice.

    Top 5 albums
When are we getting KT’s , Saad’s, and Kent’s top 5 albums now? Keep up the good work boys

    How about them cowboys, indeed.
Always really interesting talking points and the intros are captivating too. Sound quality next level. Keep it up you all!

    KT is the worst
Once i heard that Kevin Turner was on the podcast, I unsubscribed. He has the worst analysis on players and is quick to condemn others of issues he doesn’t agree with outside of sports. It’s mind boggling how he is kept around anything that has to do with the Cowboys.

    Distorted view
If you want to listen to a bunch of guys who see the world through a Star, this is your podcast. Incredible arrogance. Consistently inflated views of anything Dallas. Always quick to scoff at anything an opponent might have. Typical Texas. “How ‘bout those homers?”

    Excellent
This is an excellent podcast, at the right level for a Cowboys fan like me who never played football and isn't deeply into the details of all things NFL. I appreciate that the guys don't spend huge amounts of time BSing about their personal lives and get right to the Cowboys content. Please keep it at the level of common sense relatable analysis.

Some nerdy dude with a thin voice will not shut up
This dude literally ruins the show by talking for 90% of it while Hellman and the other two dudes who actually are smart get to say nothing at all cause they keep getting interrupted by this guy

    Deserves zero stars
Snarky and unpleasant tone. Don’t even take time to make sure they are factually correct. There are other podcasts that manage to make me laugh about this awful season, but this one is mean-spirited. The Athletic staff should check why other team podcasts get better ratings - they are smarter!!! Try to get Bob Sturm in here as the lead guy.

    Crybabies
I was listening to the show in season very frequently. I decided to give it a break for a couple of months. Due to the fact that even after big wins these three guys complained and cried about every little detail of the game regardless of winning the games. Decided to give them another shot and come back during the off-season because they don’t allow you to enjoy the season as it plays out. So I decided to tune in to see how things were going, because I do respect John and his journalistic chops. But you guessed it still cry and complain about the most mundane things ever. Now mind you I do not agree with this off-season and how things are going. Cutting Amari Cooper fail, letting Randy Gregory get out of the building fail, but these three are going on and on about how Mike McCarthy wasn’t at the owners meeting fail.

So much unrealized potential, this show is all over the place.
I’ve been listening to every episode of this show for 3 years now, but I gotta say, I’m exhausted. This show is all over the place, and I regularly find myself wondering if I’m still listening because I enjoy it, or because there are no good Cowboys podcasts and this is the best it gets. A few months ago, I would have told you that Jon Machota is all that was holding this show together. It used to be that Jon was the guy to challenge the other folks on the show and speak up when needed, he had “moxie” and great insight into the team. But over the past few months, he’s gotten downright disrespectful and obnoxious to the other hosts. Every idea someone else has, Jon mocks and tells them why they were wrong. Kent used to be the guy who talked over everyone, but not it’s impossible for anyone to get a word out if Jon has a though he wants to share. He’s aggressive and immediately poo poos on anything the other hosts have to say, and it’s exhausting as a listener. He is consistently smug and has this “know it all” attitude that is just such a major turn off. It’s even more frustrating because he wasn’t always this way, I’m not sure what changed. A prime example is this most recent “Positivity” episode, where the entire idea was to talk about good things Cowboys fans have to look forward to. Every time another person would share what they thought was a “good thing”, Jon had to tell them why they were wrong. I know it’s a tough time to be a Boys fan after this playoff loss, but c’mon. KT Turner is still a great presence on the show, albeit a bit prone to negativity. I would love to hear more from him and Saad. Kent has gotten better about not talking too much and interrupting others (something Jon could learn from) and puts together a good show. I love the intros and would like to see more editing like that throughout the show. So much potential, but I’ll probably be looking for another show to listen to soon. Hopefully they can turn it around and tighten things up.

    Unpleasant
Unpleasant to listen to I wouldn’t mind the negativity if there wasn’t so much of it even on a “positive” podcast. I highly recommend “hanging with the boys” and the “draft show” pod cast over this garbage of a podcast

    Cowboys are life
I listen to all the Cowboys podcasts, and they are alp great, Kent and the guys just hit different and I wish I had more of them per week. Can't get enough Cowboys talk.

    Good Show
Good show, as others have mentioned less Kent would be good for the show. He tends to bog the show down, steps on the actual podcasters, has weak and meandering football thoughts. I do enjoy some of his pre show bits. KT is a good host and Matches is one of the best on the beat. Saad is solid when he gets his rotations. Just missing that solid third contributor on the show.

    Good but not the best
    Excessively negative but good overall.

    Kent, shhhh
I like this show. I really enjoy the content. I wish Kent would talk over people less. I don’t find his commentary adds much to the football conversation and because he’s often stepping on somebody else’s point he frequently brings the show down. I love to hear Machota talk, he’s so well spoken and has insights I’m not finding elsewhere.

    Painful
Love the Cowboys! But the tone of the cast is painful! It’s dull and boring. Content is solid but horrible listen. I’m kind to say their voices are blah!
