This is the web's best Star Wars podcast. I found it quite late and didn't start listening until around the time that Solo came out and I have HAD A BLAST starting at the beginning and listening to these guys geek out about Star Wars. It has been so fun to listen to the podcasts knowing what already happened and hearing their crazy theories! Sometimes I laugh at how ludicrously wrong they are and then just a minute later I marvel at how accurate their rumors, second hand info, and personal theories prove to be. Also, as a fan who never paid much attention to the EU (old or new) it has allowed me to fill in a lot of the gaps in my knowledge of the broader Star Wars universe. Plus, Willow Watch is pretty gangsta too!

I found State of the Empire about 2 months ago and it has been such an amazing journey to hear the hopes and visions that this team has about the franchise. There is still more for me to get through as I'm only just finishing up episode 45, but I had to finally break down and leave a comment. The first chunk of this podcast I have found myself siding with Matt on most arguments and it feels good to hear his opinions on the Prequels and The Clone Wars. In recent episodes, as we got to The Last Jedi and the thoughts about it, I have been on Doug's side of the studio though and find that we seem to have come to very similar conclusions in a lot of parts. Obviously, the movie has its flaws, but overall I enjoyed the movie and it is amazing to hear the arguments and opinions coming through without a bunch of yelling and name calling. This podcast does such an amazing job of sifting out the best things to come out of the multi-faceted media machine that is the current Disney run Lucasfilm, while being critical of the flops. There are times that I feel some of the ideas and opinions are wrong, or overly critical, but it is what they are here to do. Hearing true fans of the serious, debate over the smallest and largest parts of this franchise is so much fun and I'm afraid of catching up to the current episodes because then I will have to wait with everyone else for my news. PS. I am planning on buying a copy of Willow soon and finally seeing it. Somehow this movie has avoided my radar until the podcast and I find myself being overjoyed every time I hear the "Willow" soundbyte and music. I skipped the first all Willow Watch episode because I feared for too many spoilers before seeing it, but the Willow Watch segment has become one of the best parts of the show, and I always enjoy hearing Doug tell stories from that old source book.

Haven’t missed an episode of this podcast since I discovered it around episode 20 and I must admit, this review is well over do. This group of three well studied, charismatic Lucas Films super fans (Cap, Matt and Doug) have yet to disappoint. Through this podcast you will get thorough breakdowns and intelligent discussions on all things Star Wars. And when the news on the Star Wars front gets a little slow, they break down the broader world of Lucas Films including the always intriguing “Willow Watch”, and “Indi inquiries”. However, it’s not always about breaking down current news, rumors and content. Some of their best stuff is reading early drafts of movie scripts that wound up on the cutting rooms floor. And finally, one of the best features of this podcast is that Cap, Doug and Matt are careful to take what they consider spoilers and secure them “behind the blast doors” until the end of the show. Cannot recommend this show enough!!!

It can take a while to wade through all the Star Wars Podcasts out there. If you don’t mind an occasional f bomb, this is hands down the best. Often insightful, intelligent, and yes entertaining. A must for Star Wars nerds, and a great place to start for the curious. Keep up the great work. I Always look forward to the alert of a new episode. Cheers - David

Cap, Matt, and Doug really dig deep into Star Wars movies, shows, comics and all. They offer great suggestions, dive deep into the lore, and are really funny too! Plus they have Willow Watch! Where else can you find a micro podcast about Willow inside of a Star Wars podcast?

A fun show with a few guys who are real star wars fans.Always up to date and entertaining.(Despite their heretical liking of rebels over clone wars.)

This is by far my favorite Star Wars podcast. These guys know their stuff and cover all facets of Star Wars fandom. Fun. Informative. Critical. And even Spoilerific (in the designated "Behind the Blast Doors" segment of the show). This is one not to be missed! Give it a try!

I owe these guys an apology. I had thought some of their past episodes had been too nitpicky about Disney’s handling of Star Wars. Too negative, too cynical. I can see after viewing “The Last Jedi” I should’ve considered their concerns about certain things more. They’re not positive for the sake of being positive. And they’re not negative because they’re snobs. They’re honest and tell you what they think.

That this IS the Star Wars podcast you've been looking for. Not only do they have full reviews of the feature films, discussions of whats happening on Star Wars Rebels and the latest comic news, but for those daring enough to venture thru the Blast Doors they offer enough spoiler-riffic into to choke a Tauntaun. On top of the main show they also feautre Willow Watch, which delves into the faint but steady trickle of infomation about magical world of Willow and Indy Inqueries for your one stop shop for all the latest Indy news. If you like anything Lucasfilms does, then you owe it to yourself a listen to the boys as they take you to a galaxy far far away an hour at a time.

The title says it all. No where else will you find a group of hosts that are not only knowledgeable but also entertaining. Their unique format of Spoiler Free and "Behind the Blast Doors" spoiler content makes this a must listen, no matter what you are looking for.

This, IMO, is the best Star Wars podcast by the people for the people. All facets of Star Wars including movies, t.v., novels, games and EU lore are covered by people that love the galaxy far, far away as much as I do. I know it's going to be a great day when I see a new episode is available. I always listen all the way through no matter what else needs to be done. Thanks guys!!

These cats know their stuff. They're funny, informative, speculative & even spoiler-y - though those are easy to avoid in the podcast. It's one of the few podcasts where I stop my day & listen all the way through, no matter what I'm doing.

If you love Star Wars, even if you aren't obsessive, this show is for you. They have both a spoiler-free section, and a section with potential spoilers, for those who want to speculate in detail, or just in general. I love listening to the episodes when they come out, and hear the theories and developments in my favorite Sci-Fi series.

They keep it accessible for fan's who may not have dived as deep into the sarlacc pit as others while still showing thier impressive knowledge while plotting thier course through hyperspace. They keep the spoilers behind blast doors so you can enjoy this show whether or not you want spoilers. Willow watch is excellent as well It will put hairs on your chest.

The days after Disney bought Star Wars were tumultuous indeed. Luckly, the Nerdy Show Network stepped to produce this show that digests the rumor mill for you. In that uncertain time waiting for Episode 7 this show reported and unpacked every breadcrumb available. Fantastic investigation and analysis guys, keep it up!

It's like sitting around chatting with my friends. The hosts are knowledgeable and funny. And I love hearing all the speculation, even when I don't always agree. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves Star Wars and loves talking about Star Wars.
